  1. Soundtrack Editor The latest result of the Kerbal Sound Overhaul Project, this mod allows you to add and remove music from the game, and set up playlists which decide when each song plays. Always wanted to hear Blue Danube when docking with a space station, a metal version of KSP's theme song when you start up the game, or Danger Zone while you buzz the control tower? This is the mod for you! Just drop some music files in the KSP\Music\ directory, launch the game, and use the in-game playlist editor to choose when you want them to be played. A selection of free stockalike tracks are included from musician Kevin MacLeod, who created many of the tracks used in stock KSP. Several thousand more tracks are available for free at his website here. If you find any that work well with KSP, leave a message and I'll add it to a future sound pack. A replacement for the Kerbal Space Centre birdsong ambience is also included, edited from the original recording here. Currently .wav and .ogg filetypes are supported, as well as .mp3 on Windows (still working on a fix for Linux and Mac, but .wav and .ogg work fine). Click for full album Downloads CurseForge | GitHub Broken Source included, project also available on GitHub licenced under GPL v2. 2. I have an interesting issue: The volume of one of soundtrack's song's is basically near muted while the other song is normal. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this?
  3. As an adult, I was browsing my current favorite Samsung Gear VR content providers and came across a new favorite title. Coincidentally this major production used a soundtrack from KSP. I am pretty sure this does not fall under any fair-use policy; IS an iconic musical score from the Kerbal Space Program game; Used in its entirety for the duration of the production; Requires a subscription fee for access to said title. I have not played KSP in over a year, but immediately recognized the musical score. For the purposes of not advertising this or any other content provider and because of its adult nature I will refrain from directly linking or mentioning this content provider in this forum, however I thought it important to bring attention to the developers of this infringement. I will respond in detail to any direct inquiry from the developers. That said... WOW! I have a new favorite and an urge to install and fire up KSP again! I really am conflicted about wanting to share the media however! I just have no idea how that would be possible to do with age verification short of known developers.
  4. Music Hack I made a short kRPC script that plays music based on in-game events and figured I'd share it here and maybe get some feedback. It's an alternative to Soundtrack Editor for people low on memory. It'll also be easier to add new music events for people who'd rather not dive into full-on add-on development. I've found this better than the "mute and play space music" strategy I was using earlier. Features As an external program, no impact on game memory usage Can play anything that VLC can play, such as Youtube URLs Can play dramatic music during docking or rendezvous a la Interstellar Play custom music while editing, above the atmosphere, at the space center, or at the tracking station, eg play the Normandy galaxy map theme at the tracking center Play main menu music Configurable via music.yaml Comes with stock music Requirements Python 2.7 or later LibVLC for Python (pip install python-vlc) - currently only supports 32 bit python kRPC (pip install krpc) PyYAML (pip install PyYAML) Downloads Github | Source Configuration Edit music.yaml Individual files or directories with music inside are allowed To disable music for a label, just delete all the bullets underneath it Backslashes must be doubled for Windows style paths Mute KSP music Usage Run the program (python music_hack.py or ./music_hack.py) and start the game, in whatever order Start kRPC server (or set to autostart) after loading a save Accept connection from KSP (or set KRPC server to auto-accept) Crashes of the music player only require a restart of the music player Limitations Can only distinguish the tracking center. The rest of the space center scenes all play music from the space center label. Doesn't come with stock tracking or main menu music (licensing limitations) Can't play KSP theme when the program launches Youtube playback depends on whether LibVLC has up-to-date Youtube capabilities. Space music continues after switch to space center till next scene change.
