  1. That's a nice planet-killing base you have...
  2. Personally, I keep accidentally trying to fly aircraft in other games using Q and E for roll. This ended quite badly in Planetside 2, as E is the default keybinding for "exit vehicle." Mistakes were made.
  3. I should remap that. The only thing I remap currently is swapping I and K (inverted pitch for translation makes no sense). On my Macbook Pro I also remap precise controls to ~ or Tab as Capslock doesn't work.
  4. You can't stop it altogether, but try tweaking the steer factor and steer damping values. Alternatively, build a more stable plane.
  5. This one's a fun story. So, when I was young(er) and stupid(er), I was really into those browser-based free-to-play MMOs-you know the type. The ones you always see ads for on flash gaming sites. Anyway, there was one game, Imperium Galactic War, and I thought it was the height of gaming technology. (I didn't know much about gaming then. If you had asked me to install Steam, I would have gone and fetched a kettle.) The game had a random name generator when you made an account, and the name it gave me was "Hobbes Novakoff." I liked "Hobbes," because I was into Calvin and Hobbes at the time, and "Nova" reminded me of "supernova," which is a big explosion, which my nine-year-old brain thought was the absolute apex of coolness. Long story short, the game shut down, and I was very emotional about it. Later on, I had to enter in a name for something (Not sure what) and I picked Hobbes Novakoff as some sort of big memorial gesture. That became my name, basically. (Or KingHobbes, if the username doesn't allow spaces.) FIN
  6. I dunno. Thanks to SQUAD's physics engine, wide selection of parts, and (to a lesser extent) excellent modding support, in the 3 years I've owned KSP, I've: Flown air races (Stock) Done plane stunts, while humming the theme from Top Gun (Stock) Launched Mercury missions (Stock) Reenacted Apollo 11 (Stock) Explored planets (Stock) Launched scanning satellites (Stock) Driven a boat (Stock) Driven a submarine (Stock) Built a space station (Stock) Blown up a space station (Stock) Destroyed an interplanetary battleship (Modded) Filmed a scene for a documentary (seriously) Made a cinematic (Modded) Had massive 5v5 jet battles (Modded) Flown through a canyon at Mach 3 (Stock) Blown up during atmospheric entry (Stock) Blown up during atmospheric exit (Stock) Attacked an enemy airbase (Mod) Commanded a fighter squadron (Mod) Picked up the wreckage of a friend's plane (Mod) Built a base on the Mun (Stock) Built a base on Minimus (Stock) Crashed a rover during an ill-advised rocket jump (Stock) Flown around with a jetpack (Stock) Climbed a building (Stock) Jumped off a building (Stock) Landed a plane on Kerbin (Stock) Landed a plane on Minimus (Stock) Built an interplanetary vessel, in space (Stock) Flown a plane from Minimus back to Kerbin (Stock) Mined for ore (Stock) Nuked the KSC (Stock) Done more stuff that I can't remember (Mostly stock) Let's compare that with, say, Call Of Duty: Shot people Shot zombies Shot cars Blown up people Blown up cars Blown up zombies That's basically it Which game has more content?
  7. I meant some kind of checkbox in the settings, or something. Like, "allow mods for versions later than X." (Another thing is maybe we could have the ability to check a box and have a mod download as soon as it updates. That would also be nice.)
  8. Is there a way to set CKAN to ignore hotfixes when figuring out if a mod is compatable? I was trying to set up a KSP directory using CKAN, but it didn't let me install a bunch of mods (for example, scatterer) because the mods were set to be compatible with 1.1 and I had 1.1.2.
  9. Fair point, but that also has the side effect of restoring your faith in humanity. We can do great things.
  10. This is a plane: This is a plane: This is a plane: This is not a plane: You get the general idea?
  11. @drtricky Ban blatant stuff like control surface clipping or engine clipping, but not clipping outright.
  12. Sure. I can't build stuff like that, but if you have craft files that you could send me that would be awesome.
  13. No, the 20mm rounds are just bullets. Also, I haven't tested this, but does the chain gun act like the flak cannon with the timed fuses?
  14. The main argument against turrets is that the 30mm chain gun has explosive ammo. Other then that, all the turrets are just rotating variants of fixed guns with more weight and drag.
  15. I might do that. I'd have to watch through all the ASC matches, but no biggie. Also, I have a bit of music I found that is just waiting for a video: Oooooh. We can embed SoundCloud now. Noice.
  16. Pretty obvious. Generally, since they can rotate to compensate for wobble, they drastically increase accuracy. Also, if you mount them on the tail, they're pretty OP. See the end of the test battle-the focused plane shoots with the front turrets (which I locked to about 5 degrees of gimbal) and misses, then the other plane flies past and chews up the focused plane with the back Vulcan turret. [Oh. Locked turrets. Derp.]
  17. You mean ASC-A? In which case, yes indeed. I've actually mounted some Mavericks and a FLIR ball onto your Matador and use it for testing my level designs
  18. For whatever reason the planes I test don't seem to have all that much trouble with only 2 CMs. Watch that test battle, all the AIMs but one miss by miles (one of them actually hits a KSC building.) One plane in that battle was taken down by AIMs, the rest by Vulcan fire.
  19. Not for a while. Mods using will need a lot of work, so things like AJL, Firespitter, and KF are borked for the foreseeable future. You could ask BahamutoD, but be careful not to run afoul of Rule 2.2f as odds are someone has asked already.
