1. I install your mod with C-KAN( just to be warned when a new version is up,also do you know KSP Add-on Version Checker? it's a good tool for non CKAN user), and every update I go remove the modules i don't need manually, so it will not change a lot, but it's ok, it takes half a minute to do this.
 2. nice update, an idea of improvement for the parachutes: make the "risk indicator" default parameter tunable in a separate .cfg for disable it if we want and most of it make the defaults parameters for thoose blinking modifiable (i'm too lazy to do it for each chute each time), my eyes are catched by this everytime, i will become epileptic! thank you (even if you don't make my suggest a reality)
 3. it could be great if you speak about C-kan and the needed license/source code.
 4. Nice question! liquid water just after 0°C(32°F) is 5% denser than just before 100°C(212°F). It also has the strange feature to take more space when solid (ice) due to the crystalline structure. What i understood for propelant strorage is the cold is needed to keep it liquid without having too much pressure on the tank wall and so limit its thickness and save weight. An idea to keep your "propelants" at the office:
 5. I've made this quick image to illustrate your mod on an other forum, you can use it if you want: Also ,I forgot the rep...done!
 6. Hi, On the wiki/Physicsless_part we can read this: I'm nearly sure you already know this, but maybe there is a chance it will help you for this great mod. What i understand from your last posts: physicless part's mass fixed, but not yet the drag.
 7. really nice mod, thank you Docmop, i don't know for your problem, does it do it in stock too or at least without the KIS link? Some imrovements i will see welcome: -a button to toggle all the display in the part right-click wich remenber the cheked boxes when disabled to avoid a list exiting the screen when we don't need thermal display, maybe when left click the mod icon, and keep the right click on the icon for the settings like the mod Trajectories does. -support for blizzy's tool-bar, to fine tune our screen.
 8. Ho, nice idea! Do you have a dev version running? can we test it to help you? (and enjoy the ride a bit for ourself of course ) i wonder how is the gameplay mechanic, that's the most important i think. i have some questions that we will be easily answered with a try.
 9. that's what i tink too, it can still make the loading faster and save a bit of memory in-game. I finally checked the module manager code and done it, because i use Ckan to install most of my mod and dont want to mess everything if a depency is needed (and you too i suppose), So here is the 2 patches i wrote: (create a .txt file, copy/paste the code below, save it as .cfg and put it in the KSP game data folder) updated, see post #633 updated, see post #633 thank you for the rep! have it too
 10. i want to share some other tricks: change in .cfg files this lines: title = White Navlight >> title = Navlight White idem for red,blue,.. so now they are all together in the partlist. 2nd Trick: you can convert the textures in .dds with paint.net, just flip it verticaly and save as .dss dxt1 with mipmaps. a pro can confirm it's right way to do? anyway it works well. : the icon in the part list show his back everytime, so you can use Part Icon Fixer & Tweaks and add " iconRotation = 0,90,0 " in each .cfg file (past it under rescaleFactor = 1 work s well).example for the lightnav_green.cfg: PART { // --- general parameters --- name = lightnav_green module = Part author = RPGprayer, BigNose, Why485, GROOV3ST3R, JDP, J.Random // --- asset parameters --- MODEL { model = AviationLights/Parts/lights/model texture = model000, AviationLights/Parts/lights/model000nav_green } scale = 1 rescaleFactor = 1 iconRotation = 0,90,0 . . . title = Navlight Green //1st trick . . . maybe a module manager config could do the trick also, but i'm not sure how to use it. done! see post #627 Enjoy
 11. 1. maybe kerbin desert 2. it works as intended, but if there is low density, you will have low aero forces. at lower altitude it works well. it produces lift but it's not the main feature, i think airbrakes are here to produce a maximum of drag, not having a good L/D ratio. Edit: coreyfro, i suggest you to try it on a Kerbin reentry with this kind of orbit: AP = 80 000m; PE= 35 000m
 12. Right , that's why there is a margin between the root and cells IRL, so ksp one's are a bad conception? but i find it bad from a gameplay point of view, if you want to reproduce the irl problem, give us some good tool to solve it.
 13. hi dear Claw, 1st thank you for your patch, it is really usefull. Maybe i have an idea for your mod: I see sometime the service bays dancing la Brujita when loading the vessel, i think it 's when we put too big stuff inside colliding the small service bay (like a small white tank of monopropelant, or covered solar pannel in a small bay). the main problem is this wobble can lead to a dissably of the ship. however, if we toggle twice the doors it seems to recalculate something and fix the problem, so maybe a modlet doing this when loading the vessel?
 14. i don't know if the pics demonstrate well your problem because Laythe has a max athmosphere of 50 000m, so at 46 000 you have really low atmospheric pressure (look the blue bar under the altitude) and so low aerodynamic forces that won't be enought to make you turn fast. also your trajectorie seems very very hard (vertical) , not the best for slowing. also air-brakes are here to produce max drag ,not lift.
 15. hi, i think i lnow what you want: AeroGUI to read the real external temperature. Graphotron if you want to record some parameters from sciences sensors. i used this to know the Speed of sound in 1.0 your experiment is interesting me, maybe more by curiosity than efficicency of launch: when is the hotter/colder air temperature? what are the variations of min/Max at differents altitudes? for rocket, is it better to start in hot air? how much gain? for spaceplane, is it better to start in cold? more drag but better lift and engine thrust? any change for reentry? so i will follow you
 16. OOOooh,i dream of this feature! Blizzy's toolbar is not dead. a nice picture of a real rover wheel damaged: (click on it for infos) What i dream too for a future version is Health Point for kerbal and part: too much g for too long, out of radiation sphere, overheating, heat, hard stress in joints, aero forces,... will hurt slowly your kerbals and parts. engineers could repair with a tool and RepairPoint depending of their skills. scientists also needed to repair science stuff. pilots could be medics. tourist will have less strenght at the begining but could be trained too or with experience. new parts for counter balancing: tool box containing RepairPoint or health Kit. medic Lab to improve the strenght of your kerbal and health them for cheapper. mechanic’s garage compatible with life support, KIS, dang it and other mod!! Edit: all of this with also an upgrade-center buiding for parts and kerbals, improving them in specific ways, g, radiations... so the "stricly better" part will change during the career, cost money and science from a gameplay point of view: should i develop this new part or upgrade the old for cheapper?
 17. the best is to plan it before I launch direct in the right direction, because landed on the launchpad you have yet a speed of 175m/s from the orbit point of view, you need to launch a few degrees more west (5° from experience) or you can drive your rocket to a pole with wheels to save this Dv be carefull of the direction of the wanted orbit (launch to 95° or 355° heading) I launch 2 min before crossing the target plane. stock scanner need to be at 0° but with scansat you can have some angle to cover faster all the area without scanning many times at poles.
 18. thank you, so i've looked a bit more and found the law: where a = speed of sound [ft/s or m/s] γ = specific heat ratio [dimensionless] R = specific gas constant [ft-lb/slug/°R or J/kg/K] T = atmospheric temperature [degrees Rankine (°R) or degrees Kelvin (K)] an intersting link to learn more on speed of sound for rocket: https://www.grc.nasa.gov/www/k-12/airplane/sound.html Also, as Laythe as an atmosphere usable for jet engine with their thrust depenpending hardly of the mach number, it was my next target: Album of the trip and then: min/max speed of sound splashed: 336/340m/s

time position altitude asl Static ambient temperature static presure

Y11D243 1:46 0°10'S165°36'W 1160m 273K 54,5Pa

Laythe

Altitude asl (m) Speed of sound (m/s) temperature (K)

0 340 288

1000 333 276

2000 322 259

3000 311 241

4000 299 223

5000 290 209

6000 288 207

7000 288 206

8000 288 206

9000 288 206

10000 288 206

11000 289 208

12000 290 209

13000 291 211

14000 293 213

15000 294 215

16000 295 216

17000 296 218

18000 299 222

19000 301 225

20000 303 228

21000 306 232

22000 308 236

23000 307 235

24000 305 232

25000 304 230

26000 302 228

27000 300 226

28000 297 226

29000 294 227

30000 291 228

31000 289 230

32000 289 234

33000 289 238

34000 290 243

35000 290 249

36000 290 255

37000 290 262

38000 291 269

39000 292 263

40000 293 254

41000 295 245

42000 296 236

43000 297 228

44000 298 222

45000 299 223

46000 300 224

47000 301 226

48000 302 226

49000 302 227

50000 302 227

19. very promising! i tryed with firefox, it refits well by resizing with "ctrl +mouse whell"
 20. good idea! or maybe something that allow to take screenshot and record video without all the overlays (but in keeping it visible for the player).
 21. I found this in surfing looking at the b-612 sentinel project: Also, i vote to have the textures converted in .dds! what.., it's not a democracy? Nice add-on anyway, thank you
 22. I finally done it on Duna. Strangely the temperature is 150°K here, but the pressure and density still go lower! Does it means the speed of sound depend only of the Temperature in KSP? we can also see the values are higher on Duna than on Kerbin, Game play considerations? i'll edit the first pic. NathanKel, i take the opportunity to say thank you for the aero-gui mod.
 23. Ahahaha, good one! As said NFUN, this curve curve don't relate the speed or delay for sound effects you can heard when you are exploding a tank hundreds meters aways (this is instantaneous, works in vaccum ,etc..). But it defines the speed of the mach 1 number (thank's Chaos_Klaus for details in links above) this affect the drag of your parts and so can be a really important parameter for your jets, spaceplanes, and also rockets ( is your rocket flipping strangely near 15 000m and you don't know why?). if you go in the debug-menu/physics/drag profil and click on the multiplier button, you can see the curve affecting the drag depending of the mach number: drag multiplier in KSP 1.0.4 after the patch: * Drag curves modified to lower transonic hump. old drag multiplier in KSP 1.0.2: So, i wish my graphic will help us to better designing and piloting our ships. Also do you know a way to record this values automatically? (the mod graphotron don't display the values i want) i would like to do it on other planets, but i'm too lazy to do it by hand again
