  1. Hey everyone. Update for you while Pwner cleans up this thread from early development banter... lol. Anyway, I\'ve been doing a lot of texturing, finding a lot of problems with my texturing, fixing it, booting up KSP, finding more problems, fixing them and on and on... You can imagine this process will eventually leave me locked in a padded room... But, the work is starting to pay off and I\'ve got a little sneak preview of some early textures. We also have a model for the Redstone done, now. We have to texture that and config it, but for the most part, the project is on track. The pod itself holds one Kerbal: There\'s Bilsy in his Mercury, screaming his head off... And the rocket hasn\'t even launched... I\'ll be keeping you guys posted on my work just to give you some updates and take some needed breaks between part textures. When this is all over, you guys will be able to launch your Mercury capsules into orbit with your single, fear-filled explorer. Just make sure his retros ignite at the end...
  2. It went exactly like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8-SAEq1JO8
  3. Hey everyone. I\'ve asked to officially become a part of building this parts pack and it seems that is okay with MrPwner. So, I guess while I wait for some UV maps to work on texturing, I\'ll give a few updates on the progress: I have textured the retroboosters and the posigrade rockets. We have found a lot of issues that I reported. I believe MrPwner has fixed a lot of them. In addition, we edited some of the config files to be more accurate, safer etc. However: Neither of us can figure out what is wrong with the launch escape tower. He has put more work into than I have -- as it is primarily his pack and he has the models -- and still cannot find a solution. We will be working on this, though. As for the current tasks, I am handling as much of the texturing as is possible for me. This is my first time ever texturing and working on a pack. I have no doubt it will shape up to be a really nice addon! To give a good estimate of the way it\'s shaping up, I\'d say it\'s on track.
  4. Because he wasn\'t Jeb. lol. Everyone has a hard on for Jeb. I had to be original.
  5. Actually recorded my first EVA: Bill Kerman taking the first steps in Kerbal history on another celestial body and becoming the first Kerbal to walk on another world. This was filmed earlier today. This EVA occurred on the same date as the Apollo 11 EVA. Thus making the anniversary of the first time a Kerbal walked on another world: July 20(21st in Apollo 11\'s TZ), 2012. Jeb followed shortly afterward. The EVA lasted 9 minutes. 6. Can someone here please explain to me how to add a hatch part to my Gemini spacecraft? If possible, easy enough so I can do it? lol. Thanks guys.
  7. Watch the official Apollo 11 descent footage. Aldrin calls out numbers while Neil pilots... Seriously, I\'m not making this stuff up. I know practically everything about it... The LMP\'s job was to stand on the right side of the LM and look at the DSKY and read the registers to the Commander, who actually had control of the craft. In Neil\'s window was a thing called the LPD. Landing Point Designator. Based on Aldrin\'s calls, he would know where the LM would be coming down. Watch 'From the Earth to the Moon' and notice that Neil has the stick... I don\'t understand why you don\'t believe me when I\'ve done extensive study on this. The simple fact is that Neil had control of the LM when the computer didn\'t. --EDIT-- Here\'s a good visual representation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXT96N1YfbQ
  8. Testing MrPwner\'s Mercury Capsule in orbit around Kerbin. It was a good flight. No new problems.
  9. He did land the LM. Aldrin gave LPD readouts and AGS and PGNS agreements with velocity and altitude, but he didn\'t have the stick at all. The computer was giving them 1202\'s and 1201\'s. It\'s a program alarm 'Executive Overflow' that means the LM\'s computer had to process so many tasks at once that it pushed a few back. It was later determined this was caused by the fact that Aldrin had left the rendezvous and landing radar on at once. They were running very low and landed with 18 seconds of fuel, approximately. The readout was showing that they had absolutely no fuel. It\'s like driving your car on E. The next call would have been at 10 seconds and it would have been Charlie Duke saying, 'Bingo and then \'Abort\''. A 'fire-in-the-hole' abort would be triggered at that point. So yes, you are correct. Neil on the left, Buzz on the right. Left is always the pilot\'s 'seat' in a spacecraft. --EDIT-- As for the reason why they were running so low, there was a small bit of air in the access tunnel at LM undocking, giving a slightly larger ejection force, which put them about four minutes or so ahead of schedule when they started the PDI. The autopilot compensated and started to bring them in as close to the targeted landing site as it could. Neil, however, noticed that there were much too many boulders out the window and decided to switch off the AP and go to manual. He pitched forward and gave it about 50 feet per second of horizontal velocity to overshoot the boulder field, wasting a lot of fuel. They landed just over Little West Crater. The landing site can be located in Google Moon.
  10. Uh... You\'re wrong... Aldrin was the Lunar Module Pilot, but that doesn\'t mean he piloted the Lunar Module. He simply looked at the computer and gave information readouts to Neil. Neil had control the ENTIRE time the computer didn\'t. The only Lunar Module Pilot to every actually fly the LM was Alan Bean on Apollo 12. On the far side, Pete Conrad let him take control for a little bit.
  11. Usually circular orbits are based on visual eccentricity. I would consider anything within several KM circular.
  12. LMAO. I don\'t see how he jumped hard enough to cancel the velocity he inherited from the aircraft.
  13. I use the astros, nasa footage and clips in my videos ALL the time. Never had a problem.
  14. The old KSP had a better surface level Mun texture. It used to have craters and rocks. Now it\'s just a simple gray noise effect.
  15. Ooh that\'s always fun, too. Depends who\'s around, though. Sometimes I like to go outside just because it\'s outside.
  16. Well, since you\'ve got your iPad, I recommend the game 'Jetpack Joyride' REALLY FUN.
  17. I think we should send the Marine Corps in... 'Sorry, couldn\'t hear you, Indonesia, over the sounds of our M16\'s talking!' lol.
  18. This petition will help bring the attention of this horrific atrocity by the corrupt and evil Indonesian government to the President if it can get 25,000 signatures in the next 28 days. Everyone, try your hardest to make a difference here. This man is rotting in jail for 2 years. We must fix this! 19. Uh, no Apollo footage or photos is copyright... It\'s all public domain, so you can\'t be sued...
