KSP2 Release Notes

It\'s too bad there wasn\'t an earlier release. I could have made a Mun Walk cinematic on the 43rd anniversary of Apollo 11\'s Moon Walk, but that\'s ok. Maybe next year. Better to have a good release later than a crummy one earlier. We all remember 14.2 and how persistence wouldn\'t work with it...

Need help touching down on the Mun.

I remember my first successful landing. It was in the Kerpollo Lunar Module. I was actually sad when it was time to lift off from Mun. I can\'t imagine how it would feel in real life. -

That is such an awesome subject. If you\'re in Southern California, I would like to teach kids about Apollo! haha -
haha. I\'m going to do a spacewalk from Mercury... Screw history! =P ;D

Hm.. SamStarMan is incorrect. The Saturn V was first launched on Apollo 4 if I remember correctly. It was supposed to carry the LM, but it did not because the LM was not ready. The LM flew unmanned on Apollo 5. -

2-6 were unmanned tests of the launch vehicles, LM and CM. Apollo 7 was the first successful manned flight in the Apollo program... Well, if you don\'t count Wally Schirra\'s annoying behavior... -

Yeah. That was one reason, but it was also a matter of necessity. Apollo 10 completed the DOI and came to within 50,000 feet of the lunar surface, but they remained in an aligned plane with the CSM above. The APS simply did not have to be fueled fully. On the other hand, NASA was worried about Gene Cernan and Tom Stafford becoming tempted to perform a landing. -
Cool. Will you be putting the camera plug in on it like a periscope as you said you might earlier?

Your retro packs are going to be Solid boosters, right?
-
Have you made any progress since your last update here?

Why could Apollo 10 have 'technically been the first'? There was some discussion about letting Apollo 10 land. Mike Collins was in favor of it, but NASA management thought it was too risky to land a LM when one had never even been tested around the Moon. So they went with the dress rehearsal. During the flight, Stafford and Cernan discovered that the Lunar Module Landing Radar was faulty in design. It would have to be redone back on Earth. Had Apollo 10 been given the GO for landing, they would not have touched down safely. Moral of the story: ALWAYS DO A DRESS REHEARSAL. And by the way, I\'m about to watch your video. -

It\'s all about velocity, weight and structural support. 4 Meters per second is pretty fast. Put it in perspective. That\'s more than 12 feet in one second. You\'ll want to try coming down at less than 1. Use RCS if it helps. Also, try to reinforce your legs. If this still doesn\'t work, try reinstalling the game. Sometimes little bugs can happen. -
You will be getting literally none of those things......

Yeah. We did some tests. We measured my shoulder span. 17 inches. Then made a rectangle about 17x15.5 inches. Then we held two beams that far apart and found that I was able to get through. -

No. Because you don\'t feel gravity, so you have no way of knowing if you are starting to tilt 'backward'. As far as I know, you only know you\'re moving based on visual reference of the 8-ball. On Gemini 8, when Neil and Dave started rolling uncontrollably, Dave Scott didn\'t know the craft was moving until he looked at the 8-ball. He informed Neil that they were in 'a bank' and rolling. Neil didn\'t notice until he looked, either. You feel movement in a plane or a jet, but when it comes down to being weightless in orbit, there\'s no way of knowing at all. And you won\'t feel a jolt unless you\'re not strapped in because you will also inherit the velocity of the movement. Any G-force from the turn would be so low it would be unnoticable. -

Well remember, you don\'t feel movement in space. So any attitude control should feel absolutely motionless. -

I was thinking about Orbiter 2010, but I think my only other computer is too crappy to run it. I\'ll figure it out, I\'m sure. -
I\'ve been playing KSP since December and I had NO CLUE.

Hey everyone! Significant progress on the capsule today! We added some horizontal bands from lawn edging so now it actually is starting to take the form of a conical capsule. We also added a hatch and began work on Instrument Panel 'A'. I made a video update, but it\'s not done uploading yet. When I\'ve edited it and uploaded, I\'ll post here for all to see. -

I bet science could genetically engineer one.
