  1. Yes. My first landing was at night. Few hours later I realised how stupid ot was to not wait after sunset. All true. But untill You get to Eve it is easy, because You are not using stock wheels any longer - You build better from stock parts on electric motors and costruction parts + grip padrs. It will be Yours. But You have to lern Yourself - it is a whole fun. You will understund why Lunohod did 39km in 1973 and Opportunity beat this record doing 15.16km in 2018 during his 14y travel. I drived around Mun all biomes. There are intresting situation when something stuppid happen, like wronge route. After You lern all the tricks with friction, traction, spring/dumper load, motor power, breaks, drift and changing mode of reaction wheels travel deliver not much per input per week. Depend on reaction wheels and suspension. My first rover was a science lab on samllest whells: So I send tractor to push it: After KIS/KAS and 1.11 it get a proper wheels: Another one for Minmus was way better: and jumpy: I was pasing most slopes this way. Now I waiting for window to EVE with monstrosity mine (6big drills, 2bigisru) that cen drift even sidways on construction part wit electric motors and grip pads. quickload^^
  2. You were warned Everybody does. But if it is first trip I suggest to avoid making great plan for a rover trip. See how Your rover behave, how to drive mountains (polar are is really bad onda Mun), how to set friction, traction, springs, speed. Later on You will cover this distance with rocket jumping from fuel mine to pinpoint landing in few minutes. Rovers are not the best mean of transport in this game. And are very boring. But it is a great adventure to learn it Yourself. Later You will find diferent way of traveling whole celestial body. Rovers are great for short distance. Try also Muncake. It is vessel powered by reaction wheels. It is much better on da Mun.
  3. Fuel tankers that I were sending previously started to RUD on Launch Pad. Parts start falling apart: I cheated to unbrekable joints and rocket start falling instead: Sinde then I add two mods - world stabilizer and ground effect. I do not suspect comunists phenomen to cause it - there is not many airofils. Could it be configuration? Like that: stabilizeInPrelaunch = True // Stabilize when vessel is just launched from SPH/VAB I do not even remember times when my rockets fall apart on Launch pad.
  4. Have a fun! Did You this thing with rover before? Mun is big and driveng rover is extremaly boring. I did it around whole Mun, and this was a bad, boring week.
  5. See to orbital mechanics. Circular orbit is circular if PE and AP are same/similiar distance from origin. To achieve this You can burn at AP prograde to move Your PE "up" and when it is almost the same orbit is circular enough. And retrograde from PE to get AP down if You would have tighter circle. Then You can play with inclination normal/antinormal (it would be important for mission) and there are some other points (often in quarter wher You have ascending/descending node) where pro/retro burn can efficient move Your PEargument. On navbal You have markers in orbit mode (surface/orbit/target velocity diference) that are forward (prograde) backward (retrograde) in Your velocity frame, then normaln/antinormal in origin frame and radiat out/in in origin/orbit frame (it is more relevant to robit in eliptical orbit and in origin during landing). This is graspto explanation, not mechanical corect. In surface mode they are slightly diferent (normaln/antinormal are invisible) and pro/retro are measured a bit diferent, and target mode change its orgin to be relative.
  6. I see what tech You have and wonder why You are not at da Mun already. Those solar panels are quite advanced for Mun landing. If You do a fly by You get landing milestone to do. But even without contract You gonna get granted for milestone on Your own - there be a message kinda "astrologist society granted You for doing magic" (astronomical society granted You for achievment). And it will be kerbmoney.
  7. Bad inclination and there is a better crater south with higher ore concentration and better inclination. If recources are not random game to game.
  8. Go for da Mun! If You can send so many tourist in orbit You can take fuel instead and go Mun.
  9. Force tweakable of one drouge in staging to deploy immediate after triggering and it will stop You (and break) - propably enough to stage another drouge. You popably try to go sideways to decelerate using reaction wheels and pencil breaks due to aerodynamic forces. It is good to have more parachutes than You need and use force one of them for agresive breaking. Use advanced tweakables in menu and twek one, selected parachute to immediate deployment after excluding it from symetry and separate it staging - all this You can do in flight. You do not have this issue if You pass to 700m/s. Specialy if You keep faling prograde or retrograde (keeping track of lowest air resistance). It play no role If You are falling - air resistance will set You to lowest resistance if SAS turned off.
  10. Ladder! Like a night sky. KIS/KAS grab, attach, and they are no longer root. Welding need gravity because of diffusion during process. It dosent work well in microG. Welds in microG are generally poor with our current technology (materials are not clean enough) and propably this problem cannot be solved in reasonable manner. But technology can change to solve conections in diferent way.
  11. I guess You build a pencil and it will not decelerate or breaks agains aerodynamics forces with such a speed if try? Drouge parachute have its max speed. But You can tweak it to open immeditialy, in such case it will breake but decelerate You to stage next drouge.
  12. After another landing in base: I had enough crapy game engine that move and rotate whole base every time. And screw my robotics unpacked from KIS/KAS: Displacing robotics out of vessels, or even did this to spider crane: So I turn to world stabilizer, but it didnt help much, however I seens some expensive parts flying down underground and missing inside da Mun. Pipes start rotating for hours: In meantime I tested new wheels made from construction parts and elmotors (simulation on Eve) for gargantuic rover where biggest stock wheels didnt help. Now I can drift there (without damage) with whole mine on stock parts. But this be shown when I get it launched outside the simulation. Price is just killing budget - I blame putting there 10 thermonuclid reactors, but subject is much deeper - it even have a chassi to look peacfull as tank.
  13. Of course! If You are not one You are not allowed to press it
  14. Building powerplant for base, but... about working in space (cant do from a seat) and be fixed in position so the Kerbal would no float away... use ladder? Ladder - a must for a space engineer to avoid fall from the space Ground experiment with a proper conection to first hop: Tower build from old scrap. Deployable by rocket^^ Manual pinpoint landing near the base... With something bigger than base: And robotic parts docked to base freaked out. Robotic have issues.
  15. As I understand the game mechanics they are detecting stuff from its orbit away to the dark but only to nearest planet orbit. I guess on this orbit You will not find much - go near Eva and see to Kerbin or go slightly past Kerbin and see up to Duna orbit. FOV to Kerbin orbit You have (triangle measured from the Sun You can cover) is quite narrow if game mechanics works that way.
  16. Looks great! Should fly well. Good merchandise!
  17. If You press Light icon on Kerbal - it turn on lights on helmet. If U pressed - it turn on lights on helemt. If You pres Light icon on vessel - it turn lights on vessel but not helmets on Kerbals that seat there. If You press U it turns on vessel lights and helmets. Consistency!
  18. Mee too. I feel raped. But it is reasonable - without flat floor and envirmoment for measuring big parts as in VAB there is no reason to make this area bigger. Let say it would be hard to measure on site. It works, You just cant use node. But You can use surface and move the part. There are also docking ports and struts to connect it after docking and there is KIS/KAS. I build some rockets from scrap parts on site.
  19. I just running scrap yard on da Mun: Rovers is build on site from scrap parts, pipes are to build electrical towers with lights for landing site around base. I rebuilded some rockets and send them to space. 1.11 +KIS/KAS do miracles. Here pipes are delivered and a bit further crane is exposed (it carry all those constructions to right place).
