  1. Welcome to the forums! I've been playing since around 0.18.2, myself. There's probably still a few of us (relative) old-timers around. I hear there are tales of users who were there at the first public release (0.7 or so, IIRC), but they show themselves so infrequently these days that they appear to have passed into legend, and then from legend to myth. Enjoy your stay. Feel free to ask questions, share your tales of your favorite missions, and just generally participate in the community.
  2. Closed at user request. Better luck with your next attempt
  3. Moving this over to Suggestions and Development Discussion, as it's more of a "What would you change if you could?" question than a "How do I use these parts as they are?" question
  4. ...You rang? Supernovy next! Go go go!
  5. Ouch! That's an unfortunate turn of events. Ah well, hoping you don't have too much trouble getting everything built back up again.
  6. Aye, it's probably better to have the video hosted externally for convenience. Long-length video files tend to be super-huge, and for some people with less-than-optimal connections (like me), downloading a huge package all in one go is... difficult. That said, best of luck in your efforts
  7. Welcome to the forums! Glad to hear you've been having fun.
  8. Ouch! Bad luck with the flubbed landing there... though glad to hear it was "all just a dream" for the crew! (Here's hoping the actual landing goes much more smoothly, both literally and figuratively.)
  9. Welcome to the forums! Glad to hear you've been enjoying the game. Feel free to ask questions, share your achievements, or just generally talk about what you like most about the game. That's what we're here for. Incidentally, how's the weather down on the other side of the world been lately?
  10. Welcome to the forums! Glad to have you aboard
  11. Looks like this is a suggestion for a future game mechanic. Moving the thread to the appropriate place I personally like the idea of adding time-based components to funding, as I think that a lot of the grind other users are complaining about comes about through the very steep prices for facility upgrades. I think that replacing those with permanent monthly operating costs while at the same time enabling contracts that provide constant income over a long-ish duration (though still needing periodic replacements) would go a long way to alleviate that, as it would reduce a good bit of the burden on players to do absolutely everything manually. Of course, I'd have to sit down and actually work out the details to fully do the idea justice.
  12. Many moons ago, I had an idea of my own to make both transmission in general and the Science Lab in particular more useful by allowing you to "craft" advanced reports from pairs of basic reports (including ones you had already "used up" so to speak) and transmit the reports for full value back to Kerbin. The few people who commented on it seemed to like it, but I haven't seen anything along those lines implemented in-game (though I'm still holding out that tiny sliver of hope that something like it will be eventually). I think it would make for a great compromise option, as well as giving a purpose to have ground bases and orbital stations beyond simply fulfilling a contract.
  13. Intriguing idea. Glad to seeing Kerbal-kind making a triumphant return to the Mun in the "present" generation. (I'll admit I skimmed over some of the bigger albums in your previous attempts, so the lower density of images won't necessarily be too great a loss That said, I understand perfectly the desire to want everything captured on camera -- after all, sometimes you don't know which little details are going to have big repercussions in the future.)
  14. Welcome to the forums! We make no promises That said, glad to see you've been enjoying the game. Hope you can get the Intrepid Three back home soon, so that they can finally reap the rewards of their labors.
  15. Just had a good look at the new content available. I'd say this one gets the Drawing Board Seal of Approval
  16. Moving this to the main Gameplay Questions forum, as the Tutorials subforum is specifically for tutorials
  17. Nicely done! Now the eyes of Kerbin watch as the next intrepid crew makes their way towards a Munar landing...
  18. Impressive work so far. Can't wait to see how much farther you get
  19. Lots of good suggestions here. I've always been rather fond of the idea of a self-landing rover, myself:
  20. While amusing, since this has more to do with real-life space exploration than KSP as such, it really belongs in the Space Lounge. Moving
  21. Looks like this one belongs in Gameplay Questions. Moving And yeah, it's basically an "extra" action group specifically configured to be used in emergencies, because the Backspace key is a bit larger and easier to hit than the others.
  22. It might help if you could provide a picture of the design you're having trouble with, as we could tailor our advice to the design much better. That being said, as Empiro has suggested, past a certain point simply adding more engines and fuel tanks won't cut it. You'll notice that real-world rocket designers divide rockets into different segments called stages, where after one stage burns out, it's dropped and the next stage above it fires in sequence. Because the rocket sheds dead weight as it rises by staging, each successive engine has less mass to push; thus, with proper technique, a relatively small rocket can lift its payload into orbit if it's broken up into stages, whereas if it tried to lift the whole thing into orbit it wouldn't make it very far at all. Hope this helps!
