  1. Dropping this in General Add-On Affairs, since that's where general discussion of mod-related content goes
  2. This appears to be a development suggestion, so I'll be moving it to the appropriate subforum This would indeed be a handy feature, especially if you're loading up a design you haven't used in a while.
  3. Dropping this in Gameplay Questions, since it appears to be one. Carry on
  4. Ooh, these look like they'll be handy. I'll be keeping my eyes open
  5. Welcome to the forums! Glad to see you've been enjoying yourself. That certainly looks like it took quite a bit of patience and time to assemble.
  6. Friendly reminder: While it's alright to discuss how BAM and CKAN may interact in particular here, discussion of the finer points of whether or not CKAN is a good idea generally should probably be kept to a topic of its own, to minimize potential confusion for other users
  7. Impressive work. I'm rather fond of the Dynasoar myself (though I bet you'd never have guessed ).
  8. Welcome to the forums! This particular challenge looks like it's missing a few things that might be important for a good challenge. Have you had a look at our Challenge Submission Guide? In particular, have you done it yourself? It's generally considered good form for a person making a challenge submission to demonstrate the challenge is actually possible to accomplish, usually with proof they've done it themselves.
  9. Dropping this in Suggestions and Development Discussion, since that's where discussion of development goes.
  10. Welcome to the forums! As a fellow cute rover enthusiast, I can assure you there's nothing too strange with it But seriously, I think you'll fit right in. The overwhelming majority of us in this community are quite enthusiastic about spaceflight, as you can probably tell by the fact that we'll talk for hours on end about the ins and outs of this game. Since you mentioned that you might be planning on starting a Youtube series of your own soon, you may want to share the fruits of your labors over on our Live from Mission Control! subforum once you get it up and running. Enjoy!
  11. Welcome to the forums! Take it from someone who's been down the same road you're currently walking now: You can lose literal days in this game if you're not careful. It's been almost two years since I first got the game myself, but I can still remember the rush I felt when I made my first successful Mun landing, and after that my first successful interplanetary mission. Also, while I'm woefully behind on them now, I used to watch Scott Manley, kurtjmac, and a few other KSPers on Youtube almost religiously back in the game. Here's to hoping you have many fun hours of playing and community participation in your future as well!
  12. Welcome to the forums! Since you're starting to take a little more time to think things through rather than just wing it the "kerbal way," you might want to take a look at the Drawing Board, which is conveniently linked through my signature below. It has a lot of interesting and useful tutorials and other player aids that are designed to help users get the most out of their game and have fun doing it. Feel free to ask questions if you get stuck on anything in particular, or to share your achievements as you complete bigger and bolder missions. Hope this helps, and happy landings!
  13. Welcome to the forums! It looks like you've already been taken care of by some of our forum veterans as far as your questions go, but while I'm here, since you're new you might want to take a gander at the Drawing Board, which is conveniently linked through my signature. I've been trying to collect some of the best user-made KSP tutorials and resources out there and putting them all in one place precisely so that users (especially new ones) can quickly and conveniently find something that can help them learn how to get the most out of their game. Also, if you have any further questions, feel free to ask; as you've seen, we have quite a few knowledgeable regulars who are eager to share what they've learned with other players. Hope this helps!
  14. No, you fool! You broke the chain! sal_vager, I choose you!
  15. Welcome to the forums There should be an option to deploy the panels if you right-click on them while they're in their folded state. If you know how to use Action Groups, you can also configure one of them in the VAB so that a single key press opens all of them at once.
  16. Looks like this one belongs in Gameplay Questions. Moving
  17. As others have mentioned, Duna tends to be a popular choice for a player's first interplanetary venture, and it's a location I personally rather enjoy visiting. Eve's another possibility, as it's slightly easier to reach (and to return from, provided you don't actually land, as armagheddonsgw mentioned; sending a small lander probe to the surface should be perfectly feasible, though). Another possibility you may want to consider that I haven't seen mentioned already: Send out a ship to visit, capture, and return with a small asteroid. It's an interesting challenge in its own right, as it basically involves rendezvousing with a small object with no gravity of its own in interplanetary space. Speaking of, if you haven't polished up on your rendezvous and docking skills, you may want to practice them in and around Kerbin's orbit and moons, as it's an especially useful skill to have for interplanetary missions, particularly if you want to have a dedicated lander and a separate return craft and not just land the whole thing on the planet's surface. As usual, feel free to ask about any specific issues that may come up as you make your way through future missions
  18. Can confirm. Some of the stuff inside there is just downright scary.
  19. Moving this to its own thread, since it doesn't exactly fit the "Thanks KSP Team" thread's topic and really deserves its own thread for discussion.
  20. Welcome to the forums! Glad to have you aboard again. Make yourself at home.
  21. Welcome to the forums! Do you happen to have any screenshots of the craft in question handy? We might be able to give a somewhat more specific diagnosis if we could see how the craft is laid out. That said, for some general principles, you may want to take a look at keptin's Basic Aircraft Design diagram and Claw's Basic Airplane / Space Plane Aero Tutorial. There are also a number of other tutorials and resources available in the Drawing Board, which is conveniently linked through my signature. Finally, while the "Welcome Aboard" section isn't strictly the wrong place for this sort of question, I'll be moving this thread into the Gameplay Questions and Tutorials section so you'll get a little more attention from our resident experts. Hope this helps!
  22. Welcome to the forums! Glad to hear that you've been enjoying the game. Since you like making replicas, you might find an audience over at the Spacecraft Exchange, if you're inclined to share them. Lots of creativity going around in that section of the forum.
  23. Definitely recommending you stick with it. It does get off to a bit of a slow start, but it'll get rolling after the first few episodes. Also, if you like Planetes and find yourself working for more, you might enjoy another one called Space Brothers as well. That one has some of the best characterization I've seen in an anime to date, as well as an interesting look at what the future might have looked like had the Constellation Program not been cancelled.
  24. Welcome to the forums! ...You look kinda familiar. Have I seen you somewhere before?
