This sounds like it was ripped from the description of a KSP rocket part.

I remember Chris Hadfield describing a Soyuz landing as "fifteen explosions followed by a car crash". They are not for the faint of heart.

Webb is going to be orbiting in the Earth-Sun L2 point, way beyond the range of any manned vehicle in service. A BFR could maybe capture it and bring it back to Earth for repairs, but by that point it might actually be easier to just launch a replacement (or ten) instead.

That giant crater makes it look like an octahedronal Death Star.

I can picture NASA (or someone else) chartering one and turning it into a giant probe. Manned or unmanned, it would be able to carry a lot of scientific equipment to Jupiter or beyond.

The Expanse is looking more and more plausible every day. All we need now is an Epstein drive. Remember the Cant.
