Starwhip's Renderfarm [Stock Craft Requests Open]
Starwhip replied to Starwhip's topic in KSP Fan Works
Yowzers! I need to get to work fixing up the OP. But for now, have a new piece of eye candy. Silverfish II will be remembered. -
Looks like it to me. Thanks.

Oh dear me. There's no way to delete posts user-side anymore. My browser freaked out and triple-posted, could somebody delete the two extraneous posts of mine from this thread? Kerbfleet - A Jool Odyssey

Well, it's good to see that at least one thing won't change. I, too, am terrified of water landings. XD Need some time to get a feel for them, too many bad memories of craft imploding with a single touch.

I don't know what I think about it yet. It certainly feels more sterile than the old one. IMO the old one was the most friendly-looking forum I'd ever seen. This one... is weird. Bigger, I guess, is the word. Everything is bigger. Main menu, topics page, posts. And this "like" button, I do not like. :/ Also, this annoying WYSIWYG editor. .-. Shift+Enter is gonna be my friend.

What're these strange grey dots on the top left of people's posts? I see no obvious pattern to them across users.
-
Welp, here we are again. I'm seriously going to miss BBCode. Always Remember EDIT: Aww, it chomped the BBCode I put in that post.

[I]This was not an attempt to land a Tylo vessel. Any attempts to prove this non-attempt to land a Tylo vessel was an attempt to land a Tylo vessel will be disputed in a fair trial.[/I]

[quote name='Starhawk']By Jool, that's exactly what I was thinking! The images referred to by PanzerAce are all you need for confirmation. Happy landings![/QUOTE] Oh. OH. Kuzzter, you clever little powerpointer, you... (It's slightly off though, unfortunately.) [img]http://i.imgur.com/3UJOkyn.png[/img] A frame too slow. XD I've got a few more ideas to get more speed. EDIT: [img]http://i.imgur.com/HfJ1NKR.png[/img] Getting there. -
[Elcano Challenge] Voyage of the Silverfish: Silverfish IV
Starwhip replied to Starwhip's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
[spoiler=Silverfish has Landed.] [I]Silverfish IV[/I] approaches [I]III[/I], which was ill-equipped for travelling. [img]http://i.imgur.com/VNTMcOw.png[/img] Successfully touching down, the carrier kneels to release the rover. [img]http://i.imgur.com/QDDF72y.png[/img] Pop go the big wings. "Rockets of Kerbin" - A chart of my best rockets
Starwhip replied to CommanderSpork's topic in KSP Fan Works
The [I]Spork VIII[/I] is really a Kerbal design. XD And the [I]Sea Kraken[/I] is a very nice one as well. :) -
[Elcano Challenge] Voyage of the Silverfish: Silverfish IV
Starwhip replied to Starwhip's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Well, the second Silverfish crashed a while back. Jeb survived, thankfully. See, the challenge lets you replace your rover if and when you crash. Now, the problem is.... the rover is WAY over here: [spoiler=The Crash Site][img]http://i.imgur.com/j0Hygez.png[/img] [img]http://i.imgur.com/uPohqLU.png[/img][/spoiler] A couple of attempts to send in a new rover failed. [spoiler=Well, this sucks...][img]http://i.imgur.com/HA3HZwL.png[/img][/spoiler] And then I manged it. [spoiler=The Successful Attempt][img]http://i.imgur.com/iHdN1Ea.png[/img] [img]http://i.imgur.com/ZoQgjMV.png[/img] [img]http://i.imgur.com/I8vbbCj.png[/img] [img]http://i.imgur.com/zjbETtz.png[/img][/spoiler] But I forgot a few things. The ladder was in the wrong place, for example. The headlight was misplaced. And the medium gear? Bad option. :( So, once again, I send another rover. More like the original one again, except with a few fuel tanks swapped out for structural tanks to add buoyancy. [img]http://i.imgur.com/aNm5XZg.png[/img] And so the challenge continues. -
[11/26/15 Update] Say Hello to the Light-Green Group!

[quote name='CaptainKorhonen']Not for me they don't. There are some very, very small stutters that are barely noticeable but the game still runs at 60fps even if I'm on a planet. I suspect it's mostly a compatibility problem, not lack of optimization.[/QUOTE] What are your machine specs, and what OS?

[quote name='Yellowburn10']Hang on... Where'd you put the air intake??[/QUOTE] [quote name='MaverickSawyer']Part clipping has amazing uses... ;)[/QUOTE] Yes indeed. :) It's inside the nose cone.

First "Serious" craft built in 1.0.5. Transport for the new Elcano rover, bound for the crash site at the pole.

Planets are, for me, more FPS hungry then the previous version. Off the surface, however, (In space) the game runs as it used to, perhaps better. Though without a graphics card of any sort I'm sure I am not a good baseline.

I would wager Chess, but it doesn't quite fit. Hmm, let's see. Is it D&D? Starwhip is a poor soul who hasn't played D&D yet.

[Patcher] "Malformed Data... File not Found"?
Starwhip replied to Starwhip's topic in Kerbal Network
For the moment, redownloading the game from the KSP store through your account seems to be the only way. Unless you've got KSP on Steam. -
Aww. I have to say this was quite a surprise. Hope that wherever and whatever you fly off to is for the best.

Is it safer to land in water now?
Starwhip replied to Tremzack's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Depends on how fast you're going down. Water is now safer in general, but it can still be a vicious beast. Experiment a bit. I can't answer for every case. EDIT: Department of redundancy department, how can we help you? XD -
Is it safer to land in water now?
Starwhip replied to Tremzack's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yes, very much so. Your crash tolerance depends on your impact angle as well as your velocity. Splashdown is now possible in aircraft without losing a single part.
