  1. I'm not sure where I saw this suggestion now, on Twitter maybe? I'd absolutely love it if KSP 2 has tutorial videos, and they get Scott Manley to narrate them.
  2. Their data security seems to be lacking; https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-08-12-epic-games-hit-with-class-action-lawsuit-over-hacked-fortnite-accounts https://www.techspot.com/news/80197-epic-games-allegedly-sent-player-personal-gdpr-data.html Even something as simple as email verification is beyond them, meaning it's all too common for an account to be tied to the wrong email address. There are other controversies around EGS, documented here; https://www.polygon.com/2019/4/5/18295833/epic-games-store-controversy-explained These are concerning, but there's not actually much that's concrete there, beyond being able to accuse them of having pretty awful business practises. The fact that backers on crowdfunding sites have been shafted by several different games WILL have a chilling effect on crowdfunding for games though. The main thing is that their tactic of securing exclusives results in gamers being forced to choose between accepting all the baggage above, or waiting for the exclusivity on the game they want to play to run out. For me, it's the documented data breaches, and especially their response to them, that tipped me into "wouldn't touch with a barge pole".
  3. Ah, that is good to hear Thanks!
  4. You were literally writing the answer to my thread as I was writing it This is very good to hear.
  5. I see it's already got a page on Steam, so I hope this never becomes an issue, but unfortunately Epic Games Store's business practises mean this needs to be addressed up front. I don't trust EGS. Disregarding any other controversy, their data handling has been AT BEST negligent. I've never had an EGS account, and never will. I have nothing against KSP2 being available on as many sales channels as possible, including EGS, and hopefully as a stand alone download similar to KSP, but if EGS manage to pick it up as an exclusive, I won't be getting it. I say that as a veteran that's been playing since 2011, and that has thousands of hours in KSP. If any game was going to convince me to install EGS, KSP2 would be it, but I can already absolutely say it wouldn't.
  6. Have to say I didn't see this coming. Looks amazing so far though!
  7. If/when they do get around to clouds, Duna is one of the bodies I'm not expecting to see clouds on so much. Kerbin, Eve, Laythe and maybe Jool would be nice to see them on though.
  8. Obviously they've been off travelling at a significant fraction of the speed of light for a while.
  9. You can change starting values when creating a new save (for example, giving yourself enough funds and science to max out the research centre and research tree)
  10. It's a tiny reason really, but the surface features from Breaking Ground push it above Making History for me. Actually having a reason to venture further than the ground right outside the lander adds an immense amount of immersion for me. Just the few minutes spent looking around and having to pay attention, instead of hopping out the door for a few seconds to grab an eva report, grab a surface sample, and maybe plant a flag... in my Breaking Ground career save I remember missions I've done far more clearly. Also it's given me a gameplay reason to build rovers, which was already one of my favourite things to do.
  11. Lost my first Kerbal in my Breaking Ground hardcore save. Val's capsule came down on the side of a steep mountain. Should have bailed, grabbed the science that was all in the capsule, and parachuted off with Val. Of course, I realised that AFTER it was too late >_<
  12. Love listening to this and actually knowing what mission control are talking about. That's thanks to KSP
  13. Unfortunately, it looks like 'Now' is an hour ahead of schedule here, in the UK. Possibly British Summer Time has stuck its nose in the timezone calculation? In any case I can go to the correct time with the timeline. That aside, I absolutely love the website, I really do get the tiniest taste of what it must have been like at the time, although already knowing it succeeds alters that.
  14. Oooh, so, in effect, shifting around the part tree of a vessel to allow, for example, a Canadarm type thing to retrieve something from a cargo bay?
  15. That's a feature I didn't know I really really wanted until I saw it had been added.
  16. Now that I think about it, this would definitely make claw grabbers more feasible... Or extending feet to stabilise a crane... Or clamps that can hold a payload in a cargo bay, release it, and then secure it again... Hmmm... Ok, now I'm starting to get ideas
  17. By the sound of it, these aren't designed to be grabbers as such, but more non-slip feet for walkers?
  18. I reckon the final tipping point for this feature being added was someone on the Dev Team going 'I wonder what Danny would do with this...'
  19. That worked by moving fuel for 'free' via fuel transfer, as there was no energy expended or force in the opposite direction. You'd still need the mod that moved fuel automatically to get it working as well as Scott's, and the only 'new' feature would be stock motors moving the fuel tanks.
  20. Hundreds of thousands of new eyes on code will always find new bugs. Especially when two of those eyes are Danny's.
  21. SAS has some autopilot functions, all of them except Stability Assist are there to keep a craft oriented in a particular direction relative to the craft's orbit, and they fight against anything that changes that orientation, including the player's input. Check the little icons next to the Navball when SAS is enabled to check that it's 'Stability Assist' that's selected.
  22. You can use engine plates to do this. Put some structural parts on the extra attachment points, and then attach legs to them.
  23. OH! I just realised looking at the rover arms, they're named after the Mars rovers... And now... seems weird to be sad over a machine stopping working, but there you go
