  1. Get FAR if you don't want easily exploitable physics.
  2. What is the end result going to be? I prefer B9PW over PW and would love to see it working in 1.2 if possible, no need for additional features.
  3. The problem with 1.1.X wheels wasn't really their usability but the way they were scripted (they got destroyed when retracted and renewed when extended iirc), causing problems, especially to modders.
  4. Yes. But that's not what we were talking about, you know? We were talking about having others play through our stories or playing stories/missions carefully designed by others. Sure, you can do it, with some mods and if you copy some files here and there then you can play one "situation" in a world build by another but that doesn't really count.
  5. They'll be spinning around like crazy due to floating point errors.
  6. I don't think that's a good idea but something like an in-game workshop where you can select player made missions and rate them would be awesome. Maybe they'd need to go through some approval proccess but that's what community managers are for, right? KSP has a great community so the missions would be awesome. Just imagine a mission where you need to return to KSC with a Kerbal stranded on a derelict station, or a mission to recover a rover from Eve in one piece, or... Even better if they gave us some "story parts" like obelisks, nano asteroids (glowing of course), Kraken eggs or whatever.
  7. Range doesn't matter, as long as you can get some cargo to orbit, refuel and nuke to your destination. Making a passenger only SSTO that can go KSC -> Mun surface -> KSC is quite easy but making SSTOs that can carry space/surface stations and rovers anywhere beyond orbit without refuelling and getting back is close to impossible. Anyway, to answer your question, I can make an SSTO with infinite range if I use ISRU.
  8. I never restart. I've had one career since its introduction in 0.22 all the way up to 0.90. I only started anew for the 1.0 update but I basically stopped playing at after 1.1 because of the new wheels and the fact that BahamutoD left. I just love seeing all the debris from things I built a few years ago. It'd be great if KSP had some kind of museum where you could view old craft or even import it (complete with legacy models if possible).
  9. For rockets: 60/40 For (space)planes: 80/20 I have quite a lot of experience, so I build fast and don't forget many things. Building planes with FAR still takes a lot of time and testing, though.
  10. I didn't say I played it for 4 years (although I do have a few hundred hours in KSP ). Anyway, I agree with you but my disappointment stems from the fact that devs hinted at new planets (GP2) a long time ago and never explicitly said that there'll be none (at least in the next few years). This sneaky, long term kind of hype is the worst.
  11. The fact that BahamutoD has left The wheels No new planets for nearly 4 years and nothing to do on planets (I stopped playing because of this, then started playing with BDArmory, now stopped again)
  12. Well, BahamutoD's threads are all locked, his last post was 2 months ago and his youtube channel shows that he's working on his own game or something, so I'm not exactly optimistic.
  13. It was a challenge to see if one could survive a free fall from space with no parachutes or lifting surfaces. I had more designs but my Balls of Steel project was the most Kerbal.
  14. I found this screeshot of a 91 years worth of debris: I'm sure I've had some way longer running programs but I have no proof. My current game is on year 3 since I went full spaceplane for the last few years (real time :D) and I mostly design -> fly -> revert -> design another... etc. or play with BDA (sadly seems discontinued so I don't really want to play KSP anymore).
  15. Real time, about an hour. I couldn't use high physics warp as the ship had tendecy to implode. It was a ship similar to this: You also had to undock/redock the ship after emptying the whole section and manually correct it every few minutes because MJ would wobble it to death. Good old times of prehistoric KSP.
  16. I'm still at 1.0.5 because my mods aren't updated.
  17. It's usually nothing horrible like but I tend to have some debris after a while.
  18. Same here except I've given up on KSP until this is resolved. BahamutoD (author of the best wheels and weapon systems) has also ceased to be active, for the same reason I assume. I hope it's fixed sooner than later but I've been waiting for new planets for 3 years so I probably can wait for wheels a few months or a year.
  19. I just spend half an hour downloading mods to set up 1.1.2 only to find out that the (stock) wheels are unusable, at least with my previous designs. I pefectly understand why this is on hold, the 1.1.2 wheels were so bad I deleted the game altogether and will wait for a new patch.
  20. Yes. No Adjustable Landing Gear mod, no update. I'm a spaceplane guy and not having good wheels is a problem.
  21. I'm a bit hungry for info, as the lack of this mod keeps me from even starting up 1.1.X for the first time. Are there really so many bugs and planned changes that it's not worth updating this mod for now?
  22. That's a shame. The HUD was the best part of the IVA. Let's hope it gets updated.
  23. @BahamutoD Does your awesome cockpit still work in 1.1? I can't really play without it.
