Funerals

Death now costs extra money. You get tools and parts to assemble your own funeral. Combined with Persistant Corpses mod, you get the option of open or closed casket. Combined with Religion mod, you get different colored parts for different religions. Find a combination that doesn't upset the other pilots. Naturally, press F to pay respects.

The Ego 101 mod

Rockets are now contraptions that push the universe away from them via their exhaust. That way, they push the universe so that their objective ends up right next to them.

When you drive, your car's ultra-gripping treads grab the planet you're on, rotating it so that your objective will end up right next to you.

Basically, when you move, you don't move yourself. You just move the universe to satisfy your needs.

Well...

That's how the game works...

Fakism Overhaul makes rockets run more like they do in the movies, just burn straight towards a body to go there. Also, magically have fuel while at the same time using all the space in the rocket as living space. The fuel runs out whenever the plot depends on it, however. The rockets have the classic style found in Tintin or Pikmin so you can revel in the complete disregard of orbital physics!

Fakism Overhaul Interstellar is an addon for Fakism Overhaul which adds even more complete disregard of orbital physics by adding Star Wars-like parts to the game. Now you can burn straight towards planets in style!

Just want to point out that the Tintin moon rocket is surprisingly hard sci-fi for its appearance. There's propellant space a plenty in the design, with living space allocated to the front. Someone once even made a Tintin moon rocket in Realism Overhaul that went to Luna. That said, it's not totally realistic, so don't go off and tell NASA to be building the Tintin rocket. http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/deckplans.php

My mod:

Flatkerbin. The latest mod for Kopernicus, which flattens Kerbin into a disc and makes all of the celestial bodies orbit it.

Additionally:

Kerbal Scott Manley Program: Replaces every texture in the game with a picture of Scott Manley's face.

FlatkerbinPlus: Early Khristians

NOTE! Flatkerbin is required for this mod to work, but that mod is so much better with this one added! This mod adds the Katholic Church, who scream Heresy every time you try to do everything... even when you extit the game. When you enter the tracking station, church officials take your kerbals and place them under house arrest until they die. every launch lowers your reputation with the religous community, and at any moment an inquisition could occur, deleting ll your craft files and killing all your kerbals by beheading. works great with the persistant corpses mod! don't download the cannibalism mod though, it triples the inquisition rate!

Take no offence at this obviously satirical forum post!

Outer Planets Mud: A new planet pack!

Adds the following planets/moons:

  • Mega-Gigantor: A gas giant almost as big as Kerbol. Jool, Eeloo, and all other modded planets orbit it.
  • Faro: now the only planet beyond Dres that doesn't orbit Gigantor, Faro orbits an average of 400,000 Mm above Kerbol
  • Bigin: A moon of Gigantor. Has the same mass and gravity as Eve, but no atmosphere.
  • Justtoscrewwithremotetechplayers: A large moon orbiting at the edge of Gigantor's SOI. Blocks all lines of sight from Kerbin to the moons of Gigantor 70% of the time. Also has 4 moonlets, blocking Duna, Dres, eve, and Moho.
  • Awfool: This moon hates you. Combining the worst aspects of all stock planets, its atmosphere has a pressure of 10 atmospheres within 50 meters of the surface, but above that it thins to a puny 0.01 atmospheres and stretches 3/4 to the SOI change, requiring constant stationkeeping but not helping with deceleration. Also, the surface is covered in spikes, and no part of the surface has a slope of less than 45 Degrees. Still fair game for "Gigantor-However-many-moons-there-are" challenges.
  • Dot: Smaller than Gilly, smaller than Pol, smaller than some asteroids, smaller than your ship?? Yes, Dot is all of these, with a radius of just 20 meters. Land on it! Orbit it! Cover it! Turn it into a space station! Is there even a difference? But remember, you still can't move it!
  • Pointless: A flat, featureless, grey sphere. Has only one biome and a science modifier far worse than that of any other planet. A required part of all moon exploration challenges.

Meanwhile, If you find yourself neglecting Dres, then you should try:

Dres Lover:

Requires Kopernicus. When installed, turns all celestial bodies into Dres but with different amounts of gravity.

Dystopic realism overhaul:

you only get a limited number of manned launches, after that you can only launch probes

only government contracts are allowed, they dont reward funds.

You only get more funds once a year, the amount is set every 4 years based on reputation.

Reputation is rewarded by new, realistc public opinion stats. New and daring missions will raise public opinion. Repetative and routine missions will lower it.

Research costs funds instead of science

The ratio of Government funding per reputation point will continuously degrade until you are required to use reusable launch vehicles for every launch.

Launch vehicles can only be refurbished 10 times before you need to buy a new one.

Late game launch strategy sees you with too few funds for research, new launch vehicles or much of anything. The requirement to 'do something cool' to raise public opinion for more government funding becomes impossible to meet. You can hire other space agencies to deliver your payloads to lko, as long as they are under 5 tons.

just like a real space program!

Dystopic Realism Overhaul Extended:

Adds Communist Pride mode:

In Communist Pride mode, you don't get reputation for public opinion, but rather for the perceived fear of your country's regime. You earn this new fear through completing contracts to put "spy Satellites" and "propaganda Broadcasters" on your rockets. Bonus efficiency to your rocket motors for hiring defected Socialist Party scientists!

However, fear will still dwindle faster than you can keep up with it. mid-game, you can either sign the no more outer space for you haha all your dreams of going to space are gone "outer space" treaty and stop getting reputation from fear altogether, but instead get a teeny amount of money from shuttling capitalist pigs to YOUR space stations, or you can not sign it and your space program will get almost no money ever again.

Wissify+: relocates attachment nodes so they are at the centre of the items face. no more mirrored fuel cells with edges that don't line up. also forces all solar panels to deploy from the centre line of their housings rather than one edge, the doors of which are replaced with symetric double doors. asymetrical parts placed in mirror symetry will be inverted, not just rotated in the other direction (looking at you again, fuel cells) and other nice, relaxing symetrical graphical improvements.

Wissify++: Every Kerbol object, including Kerbol, will be traveling by perfect, circular, aligned orbits. Every planet and moon will be the same size, and will look like a blank sphere with no textures. The planets are somehow constantly aligned, perfectly as they orbit Kerbol. So are the moons. The skybox will be pure black, with a completely symmetrical grid of pure-white points, representing stars. Light effects, Atmospheric effects, etc will not be included. To get to space, one has to burn upwards, then burn sideways (the player does not have to control his ship for that. Instead, every ship is on rails, and all the player has to do is press Z. The fuel will run out just as the ship reaches a perfect, 100x100 km orbit.) Every part in the game has no shape, and is perfectly spherical as that is the perfect shape for an object to have. There is no x1 symmetry option for radial parts, and only one symmetry option is available once you put the radial parts on your control core. Every transfer is conducted by autopilot, and is a perfect Hohmann transfer.

Kerbal Rocket Changer (KRC):

Randomly changes a rocket engine from the one you selected to one of the ones in your parts list, regardless of compatibility. It will randomly change engines on all craft (SPH or VAB) regardless of where they are assembled. Once this mod is installed, it disables F5, F9, and revert commands, so whatever engine your craft spawns with, you are stuck with it.

Imagine loading that same craft another time and getting the Wheezy Jet engine with mono-propellant.... :sticktongue:

Oh, man... that could get real evil really quick. :D The space center would never be the same again!
