A quickie listing of my favorite steps for launching satellites -- go ahead and ask specific questions about specific steps, if they are unclear:

1. If the requested orbit is polar (or kolniya or tundra), then wait until KSC is under the southward or northward point of the orbit before you launch -- and launch south or north as appropriate. Otherwise just launch into an equatorial LKO.

2. When you get to orbit, look at the requested satellite orbit -- specifically looking for the An and Dn markers on that orbit -- see which one is coming next. If it's An, point Antinormal, if it's Dn, point your rocket Normal. If you can lock SAS in those directions, do it.

3. In map view, when you get close (but not quite to) the marker, burn gently until the marker says 0.0 degrees. Sighting from the An to the Dn marker can help you decide when you are close. If you know the trick, get it even closer than 0.0 degrees.

4. Then burn prograde to raise your Ap until it is just inside the requested orbit -- as close as you can get it.

5. Wait until your ship is out close to the Ap. The important concept here is "where is the spot where my ship's orbit is as close as possible to the target orbit?"

6. When you are just before getting to that closest point, burn prograde. Zoom in on your ship, and watch as your orbit gets closer and closer to the target orbit line. Keep burning until it's very close.

7. Then wait until your ship is almost at the new "closest" point, and when you get almost to that point, burn prograde again. Repeat until the contract completes.

-- Doing it this way will get you a completed satellite contract in less than half an orbit.

The only complication is if you need to do a "stationary satellite" contract. Those require some additional timing.

banana dude helped me cuz he got pictures but bewings was really good too. also it might be a good idea to post the same guide on steam.

There is a training section in the game that covers this kind of thing.  Did you try those?
