Manned Rovers - problem with command chair

Hi Folks,

Not sure what I am doing wrong here...I create a rover base and when I add the command chair and then click crew I do not get the option to add a Kerbal. It does not seem to matter how I design the rover, I just dont get the option for a crew.

Is there a specific way to add the command chair?

Unless you are running a mod called Take Command, you won't be able to add crew to a command chair in the editor. This is a limitation of the game.

You can't. You have to have a command module or crew cabin.

You can add one on a decoupler, and throw it away after you board the chair.

I'm not sure these answers were quite on target. To use a command chair,  you have to go out on EVA. You get close to the chair, open the context menu for the chair, and click the "Board" button. That's how you put crew in a chair.

IF you want to be able to add kerbals to command chairs on launch, you need to use the mod TakeCommand. Otherwise, no luck.

The reason I tried to add crew was to check the overall build. My intention would be to have the rover as a separate item and the crew would board via EVA. I guess I need to build it, launch it at the KSP and then  add a kerbal.

I might try a build from KSP X first!
