It would appear that the Storm  class supercarriers are too xbawxhuege for the SRNC's wargame hardware. Go figure. Now all I can do with them is threaten you with imminent destruction, not actually doing it.

That said though, I've recovered the files for the Myth-and-Truth class assault ships.

The Marines are coming.

Also, SRHA has been restored, and has successfully declassified one of those annoying <snips>. Have a nice tidbit about landing ships!

SRHA log AN-3 playing. Subject matter Myth-and--Truth class assault landers.

The Myth-and-Truth class of tender and assault boat has been the main combat lander of the SRNC's Marine Corps since Sidea's fall. In fact, they were the Sidean Empire's landing craft in the days of that empire. They also act as light supply ships, tending to Watermark class skiffs and carrying supplies at the battlegroup level. Their design was originally optimized for carrying Cataphracts, now changed to accommodate 4 Fortress- main battle tanks or Bastion armored personnel carriers. Instead of the heavy vehicles however, the Marines prefer to use light APCs, notably the Bolter-H and Cerberus-S patterns, of which they can carry 8.

The ship itself fulfills a fire support role once landing is complete, armed with  numerous rocket launchers and 30mm autocannons. It's point defense systems are extremely overkill for it's size, consisting of 6 laser mounts, 8 20mm autocannons, and over 24 .50cal twin-linked turrets. Armor is lacking however, as the ship lacks side protection, trading it for it's ridiculous fire support abilities. It is capable of maintaining 15 m/s, and in combat situations can boost that to 32 m/s.

@KenjiKrafts She won't be waiting for long now. Craft file? and what specs are do your computer have, mine is pretty hopeless now when it comes to recording anything

We probably play on different versions, and I'm not recording anything outside osu games anytime soon, its a dual core laptop.

Ah. My desktop has gotten old enough that my mom's new laptop is outperforming it lol. Still, if you ever feel free to update to 1.7 weapon groups and servo controlled arty will be waiting :D

This thread is old! But I refuse to let it die! Over the next few months, Sidean Fleet Command will start designing a new gunboat for the navy! That's right! New! Bit out of character for the renamed Sidean Republic Wet Navy Command, but they've decided that using decades-ld designs is a little stupid. Don't fear though, as old habits die hard and i will likely take months for these new ships to be made! They might even never be made! 

But until then, stay tuned on this dead forum topic as I attempt to post updates and stuff. See you then!

Might have gone a bit too dramatic.

So my concept is a wedge gunboat with turtleback armor for citadel bits. I'm thinking about modding some new, bigger armor panels so I don't have too many parts, and I'm thinking of naming the class Duelist.

Ive made a 2x8 plate that works , and its helping a lot. My "cruiser" (same size as my first dreadnought) is now 96 parts. No weapons or superstructure, but main hulls been figured out

it also looks like an actual ship now.

I have built for the first time a ship that actually cares about tonnage. It's a 50 ton, 33 meter long ship with patrol boat armament- 4 TOWS, 2 millennium cannons, and 4 each of AIM-9s and AMRAAMs. It also comes with armor that I would have put onto a battleship back in the day, which is negated a bit since the 2x8s have the same health as the 1x4s, meaning you gain thickness potential (in part count, mass is a problem) in a trade with individual durability.180 parts total because of how many structural tubes i had to shove in to get it to float. 20 m/s speed, has to do a little hop out of the water and gain a bit of speed to float itself properly. Utterly worthless, but a good foray into larger ship designs. The vector engines actually weigh enough to sink the ship when put in the back so it's meant to run with infinite propellant on, which will be the new standard for Sidean ships. 

 

TLDR: slow tiny ship with not enough guns that has far too much armor and sinks at the first sight of an autocannon. Immune to Abrams fire though. 

Its also thin as hecc so it looks a lot like an actual warship. Gonna make the ships thicker though when I build bigger.

Thinking about using kerbal joint reinforcement and making an invincible "core" so that when an armor panel gets hit we don't lose the whole front half of the ship to go with it. Kind of like Fall of Kerbin's Era 3 tanks, but on a huge scale.

That's right, Sidea is actually a fallen empire that used to hold most of the galaxy and had insane tech, so we have cool "cheats"

I will be putting fuel into most of my ships tho. Just cheating when i want the ships to be able to move without sinking

I have way too many ideas for ship names, backstories, and stuff and not enough time to build all of them :c

 

Idea #2462:

Class Designation: Escort Cutter: Sea Dragon

Armament: Combination of 20 and 30mm autocannons 

Hull type: Wedge, Hydrofoil

Deployment: Parasite craft to carrier vessels, Port/Fortress Garrison

None of this is really that interesting, but I really liked the idea so im trying up with a little motto for this ship along the lines of 

For the Sea Dragon breathes fire across the waves!

Referencing the fact that its gonna be spewing firepower in the form of autocannon shells

EDIT: more like a poem than a motto i guess

Standard mod pack at this point should be Kerbal joint reinforcement, BDarmory and requirements, Pwings, and tweakscale.

That's my modpack at least, ill try and stick to it
