KSP 1.6 using RSS for 1.4.5

As the title says I'm using the RSS mod for KSP 1.4.5 on my 1.6 version and it works perfectly however I've found it to run soooo much better on 1.6 than 1.4.5....

Is this just down to 1.6 being more "optimized"?

Planet packs from earlier versions work fine with the latest version of ksp if Kopernicus is updated. So if you’re using the kopernicus for v1.6 I see no reason for rss 1.4.5 not to work.

Speaking of RSS, is it possible to play with it without using RO/FAR? Just a question. I would use SMURFF though.

As far as I know RSS is a stand alone mod...or well, it has a few dependencies (like Kopernikus) but next to that you are free to install whatever you want next to RSS. 

You dó need RSS to play RO thought

Yes, thats how I play usually, but I had to come up with Transmogrifier (see sig) to resize rockets to be big enough to get very far.
