  1. I claim new worlds in the name of all sentient beings, for adventure and SCIENCE... no freedom fries in my game, but maybe fried kerbotatoe snacks...
  2. Here are some examples, i posted sometimes earlier this year on another thread concerning the same topic. I consider this part clipping as legitimate for my style of ship construction:
  3. Actually i dont care what others consider cheating or not. As a personal guide line i dont clip tanks, engines, cockpits and other stuff, where this completely doesnt make any sense. However, creating clipped structures with plating, trusses and beams and putting stuff into hollow pieces (the large SAS is ideal as a hull for small equipment f.e.) is totally ok in my opinion. But why dont you just do, what suits your needs?
  4. Probably the deer thinks about how high the impact tolerance of its hide may be...
  5. I wanna see the movie Soylent Goo with Charlton Kerman...
  6. I could live with that. I dont need the update under the XMas tree. Actually it would be awesome to have a complete set of parts, when .90 is released.
  7. Because this way you can fit it to 1.25, 2.5 and 3.75m parts as you desire.
  8. It is just big enough to fit a 2.5m payload into it, which totally makes sense. I love those new parts and really cant wait to try building stuff with them... Those asymmetric round adapters will make awesome booster nose cones... \m/
  9. Sounds 100% like an incarnation of great Cthulhu... In all aspects... Creepy.
  10. I designed a jetboat today... One of the first designs wasn´t that... convincing. The successful version can be seen here
  11. I have just started designing some landers and craft for a Laythe colony. The first two landers contain habitat, laboratory, reactor, control room and a rover. The third lander contains a jetboat so far. A fourth lander with the station core and a spaceplane will also join soon.
  12. Continued from here ... Today i designed a jetboat for my Laythe colony project. It took 3 design approaches and 2 variants of the one you see here, to get the vehicle moving save, fast and stable and also keep it small enough to fit inside the third lander (top row). The last design of the boat, shown here, performed very well, reaching a solid speed of 97 m/s on the water while keeping completely calm and upright. Bob Kerman was skeptic throughout the complete test phase, but finally got his smile back when returning to shore with a successful landing maneuver. Now its back to the third lander. There is still room to fill with useful equipment for the base. A spaceplane and a fourth lander with the colony core and some storage capacity for fuel and stuff will conclude the design phase. Hopefully by the end of the week. But now... enjoy the pictures Just to mention... no part clipping or so going on here. Its as simple as you see it.
  13. Oh yeah - speaking of the abort button in my above post... action-groups... I still throw my abort actions into the staging action group from time to time... If it wasnt so funny...
  14. Now i wanna see a lifter for a 2.4 ton payload with less then 20 parts. Looks quite impressive!
  15. A better reputation gives you better contracts. Its that easy.
  16. I usually go in at a very shallow landing angle, which doesnt allow for the decoupler method. So, it is IVA landing with a close look on radar altimeter and vertical speed for me. And putting lights on a lander never hurt. I also like to use ScanSat, so i can determine, where i land and what terrain to expect.
  17. I play the game for a year now and i still havent been to all celestial bodies. And it took me half a year to recognize, that the abort button isnt buggy but needs to be fed with information.
  18. 11/10 Size matters! The latest Godzilla trailer fitted nicely on my tablet screen... Your sig doesnt... I am overwhelmed!
  19. I am playing since version .20 and i have to say, that you guys at Squad have done a remarkable good job when looking back at how far you´ve gotten in .25. So, thank you for all those cool & fun moments in space and those things to come!
  20. Today i did something i wanted to do for such a long time now... a colony on Laythe. First things first, so i designed a mission batch and then got into the SPH to fiddle on the landers and rover etc. I also built an efficient transfer stage to bring the landers to Laythe. The whole mission will be executed as a constellation variant, but with the crew already inside the landing vehicles. On the to-do-list is an SSTO space-plane, small enough to fit inside lander no. 3 and probably a jetboat to explore Laythes oceans. When finished the mission will cost around 5 million funds, so hopefully, the new biomes we get in KSP .90 beta will bring some nice profitable missions... As usual, i will make an album when the mission is finished, featuring more details and different shots. Here are first impressions: Designing the first 2 landers: First transfer stage goes to orbit:
  21. Why not use ScanSat and get the high detailed data yourself in a cool mission?
  22. I encountered that as well. I just got up and suddenly it was dark outside again. Kreepy... I have heard of lights on and around Minmus before, but it never happened during my sessions...
  23. Yesterday (oh god... wrong thread) i developed the Science Minion Mk. III... a small low-cost science gathering probe including launcher and transfer stage for under 30k of funds. In this configuration it can reach Duna, Eve or of course anything within Kerbins SOI. The ideal solution to get your "gather science from space around..." missions done cheap and fast. The small and compact design is also ideal to be fitted on larger craft to have some probes at hand, whenever needed.
  24. Welcome to the forums Bubbles7. Keep in mind... If something explodes hard enough, parts of it may go to space! Good luck on your missions!
