  1. Can't compete with these big bad boys on here, but I do have a little SR-71 Drone you guys might like! Video - Craft File
  2. I guess refueling the Sub often is gonna be the answer for now.
  3. While Juno and Wheesley Engines are best for GMP they also require objects that float so this creates a ballast problem. If the planet has no oxygen I would try R.A.P.I.E.R engines for a large Submarine like Scuba Do, not sure if this will work as a good substitute but that would be my first suggestion and the first engine I would test. I don't know if they even work underwater well or if at all, I haven't experimented with these for that purpose.
  4. Like @XLjedi said, this would take hours. This would be my weapon of choice in my arsenal (RipTide) and it would require refueling on the way. I went for a test run and decided it's not something I want to spend that much time on
  5. Sounds like another fun mission! Time is on our side when it comes to KSP so no rush. I have projects I have started over a year ago, I hope to get back working on them but other fun ideas emerge and they stay on the back burners.
  6. Today I made a Louisiana thing "Crawfish"
  7. Incredible work man! If commercials were added this could be a Kerbal TV Show, but let’s not do that . Hats off to you, amazing work in every category!
  8. The best part about this, you now have the ability to explore the Oceans there with an endless amount of fuel. Congratulations on completing this mission I know it wasn't the simplest of task! I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for future adventures with you. Thanks again for sharing it @Spacetraindriver @Scarecrow @Evanitis Thought you guys would like to know @RedeyePete brought this thread back to action?
  9. Someone requested putting this on another planet?? We'll it is equipped with enough Chutes! Hey Scotty!..........can you flip us?
  10. Such awesome work man! lovin' it to say the least.....so cool, thanks so much for sharing the adventure with me!
  11. Thank you, that Shark is @klond impressive work!
  12. Thank you wile1411! I found someones 3D art work with this Drilling Rig that also inspired this build
  13. These are some really nice builds, I didn't think an F-16 could get so tiny! As for those formation shots, they are definitely really cool, I like this one
  14. Congrats on the Facebook appearance  . That little racing Aircraft looks so cool man!

Thanks man! I really appreciate you saying so. :-)

  15. @Servo ........... @klond and I thought you might like this little replica we're working on? Sanchez Besa 1912
  16. Thanks so much for the nice comments! This to is also one of my favourite Movies
  17. DeepCore7 K&S Technologies Group This project was inspired by the Drilling Rig DeepCore in the Motion Picture "The Abyss". I first started building an underwater base, got some ideas on what works underwater (Like what sinks what don't). Then I added drilling capabilities and refueling. The plan was to have Refueling Stations for a Submarine to have the ability to refuel for longer underwater adventures. I was going to set these up so that a Submarine could make trips around the near by Islands. As the project went on Versions changed and plans were changing. The DeepCore7 Rig works well but the Submarines where not cooperating. I plan to complete a small sub that will dock in the Rig's Docking Bay. This has been a really fun project for us and I would like to thank @klond for his time and work on this one. He once again has added input and craft that really help my projects come more alive! From K&S Technologies Group thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy our projects as much as we enjoy making and sharing them with you. Operations At the runway give full throttle, press Z and allow the Rig to roll off the side of the runway. Reduce speed to 1/3 throttle, when 40 m/s is reached kill engines and allow the Rig to coast giving speed as needed to maintain speed between 30 - 40 m/s. You will need to steer tapping D to keep the craft straight. Also Action Keys 0 and 9 can be used for steering onland or in the water. Enter the water near 30 m/s or less. After the craft is fully in the water give full throttle and use 0 and 9 to steer. Warp x2 is ok on the water and allow the Rig to come to a complete stop before releasing the Pontoons. After dive has begun you can use Full Warp to dive near the Ocean Floor. Damage could occur if you land on the bottom at Full Warp. When Rig has settled on the Floor apply brakes if needed to stop all motion then raise the Landing Gear. At this point press Action Groups 1-10 and the Rig will begin Drilling. Plans are to release Submarines at a later date which will be able to dock in the Bay Area. Good Luck have fun and thanks for downloading and enjoying my craft builds. Craft File DEEPCORE-7
  18. (This is really inspirational stuff, especially as I dabbled with some experimentation recently.) Thank you!! (So here's a question to you: what do you think is the minimal amount of ore mass to get a viable minimalist drilling rig down to the undersea bed.) The amount of Ore depends on how many parts that are use with buoyancy, some items like the MK1 have lots of buoyancy and require lots of weight to submerge them. (So one drill plus infrastructure (power plus radiators) fuel tanks for storage plus one habitat module (e.g. Hitchhiker) plus a dock for a sub (possibly via Klaw)?) Yes the Klaw is very useful for these task, but not my preference (With two ore tanks (total 3,000), I found just extending the radiators caused it to lift-off from the bottom. And apparently, drills do not in any way anchor the base to the sea floor...?) Extending radiators creates lift is interesting and sounds useful, thanks for sharing this. Not sure about the drills anchoring I haven't tested this.
  19. I built an Underwater Drilling Rig like the one on the Motion Picture "The Abyss" DEEPCORE-7 Video - Thread
  20. Ore very necessary, and I never gave it any thought about getting it off Kerbin. I would say it’s doable.
  21. This is beautiful stuff man! I am just getting around to trying this out and hope to put something in space over the weekend. Another thanks of all your time and hard work.
  22. I will get back with you soon on this.....I owe...I owe....it's off to work I go!
  23. Thank you for the nice comments man! and this would definitely be a challenge and look so nice on Laythe's Ocean Floor!
