My recent S7-F14 TomCat Aircraft release inspired me to create an Aircraft Carrier to support the craft. I am currently doing some practice landings and noticed that I will need to add some stopping power, I will test Parachutes like I've seen others using or some Sepratrons might do the trick. The Carrier "Sentinel" is a WIP at the moment. "SENTINEL PROJECT" S7-F14 TomCat & Aircraft Carrier Sentinel After hours of testing I landed a S7-F14 TomCat on the Sentinel Aircraft Carrier! See Video Here. The Sepratrons worked, with precision timing and speed the craft can be landed. The video of the craft landing is with one engine damaged but the testing proves that it can be done and without damage to the craft with practice. Another update: After many practice landings I still haven't landed without damage to my craft yet.........or did I? This has been such a ridiculous challenge for me and I just can't seem to quit until I succeed!! Update: 06-03-2016 Finally after many attempts I made a landing without damage to the Aircraft. This has been very difficult, if I had to guess I would say nearly 40 attempts were made for this successful landing. I plan to release the Carrier soon and both craft on the Challenge Thread. Update: 06-04-2016 I am having a KERBLAST! this weekend, I was able to load five Tomcats on the Air Craft Carrier Sentinel, test launched a craft successfully and it's been so fun! After a few more tweaks and testing it will be time for video production. -
Thank you Columbia, and yes the F14 is a bit wider. I really had no plans to build this craft, the wife and I were looking for a movie to watch and we decide on TOP GUN because we hadn't seen it in a long time and of course I had KSP running through my head!! Although I did think about building a few of my favorite aircraft I just haven't ventured into those, some are the Vought F4U Corsair, P51 Mustang, F4 Phantom, MIG 15, P38, Fairchild R4Q-1 Fling Boxcar, M22-Osprey and your favorite the B-29, I am missing a few others I'm sure. My Dad was a Radio Operator in the Air Force and loved Aircraft, this rubbed off on me!

Sector 7 Space Laboratories - Aeronautics Division In my previous release of the S7-F14 TomCat I had landing speeds that were high and making the craft difficult to land and takeoff. I now have speeds under 100 m/s during takeoffs and landings. It's still not the handling that I would like to see for this craft but it's flying great. The fuel was reduced, Airbrakes were added and also Canards are hidden in the fuselage for added control. After getting tips from other builders @Hodo & @pTrevTrevs this craft looks better and handling better. Each version has it's own wing position. I plan to build an Aircraft Carrier to support these craft in the future. Thank you and not a problem, we all here to have fun!

Thanks to you @Hodo & @pTrevTrevs my craft is looking much better and lifting off the runway better now, I changed the wings to give it more of a sweep, the landing speed is between 160-140 m/s. I am using the airbrake and the landings look great. I will post the updated craft soon. Thanks again for the input! S7-F14 Tomcat

One reason why I chose to use the cockpit I used is because it was an idea I thought of when I saw the Cockpit in the picture below, I never saw anyone use this cockpit back to back and thought it would look a little closer to the original, also the wings seem to ride high up on the top of the fuselage, shown in the picture on the left. I will try to make another craft as you suggested to make it look more like the swept back position and the extended position. Also when it comes to the MIG my favorite is still the MIG-15, it's so unique. ***Update: I just reduced the fuel in each tank to 80 and was able to land a little easier, also the handling is not that great, you would be the first one shot out of the sky in a dog fight, it's still fun and a challenge to fly and land. ***

This sounds great, I will work on it and post an up date, thank you!

Thank you for the tip, I didn't test this craft as much as I would have liked to. I think reducing the amount of fuel will help a lot also.

Sector 7 Space Laboratories - Aeronautics Division I guess we can never have enough of this awesome Aircraft. One of my favorite Aircraft and this is my replica of the F14-Tomcat. During test flights it's been difficult to land, I would say it's not going to be easy. TakeOffs need to be done at high speeds and with a gentle lift not to damage the Engines. During my Oilfield project the barge I built was getting so much speed I thought about making a huge speed boat, it's going 43 ms and has 40,000 fuel so we will be traveling for a while. I plan to change its design a bit before releasing. RipTide -

Here's something I've been wanting to do for a long time and now I finally got the chance to work on the idea again with the new updates for 1.1. It's an Offshore Helipad, my original plan was to install one of these at the Old Airbase Island with a Tug Boat and Barge. The water depth was very close to what I wanted and then it began to slide. I have another idea I will try that should anchor it better. Also the pad got damaged during this test. This is still in the works and I am not sure exactly what the complete project will look like. I have a video I plan to upload later showing how this was accomplished. It was really exciting to see a plan working as expected after a few tweaks. Offshore Oilfield Helipad Barge Fabrication I am using a Barge I built from an older version and noticed it will need to be enlarged for the Heliport Structure. This is the rear section which is one of three showing an idea of how many struts are used in these Barges. I found it was a little fascinating to see so many of them and thought to share it for this WIP. ** Here is an update and also a heads up for others that may have forgotten. I guess the joke is on me today, steel does not float anymore and this barge is now just a memory.*** I guess it's back to the drawing board and use other flotation ideas for my barge. I think everyone is now using empty fuel tanks or cargo bays. Barge & Heliport Update I now have a nice Barge to transport the Helipad to the Island. I am reaching 42 m/s now and working on the unloading process. I was able to unload and upright it but not without damage. -

Incredible seems to be the norm for your builds and here it is again.....incredible! Is it producing any torque? -
Wow! you have the most mind boggling amount of work I have ever seen in the Kerbal Space Program, not sure if I should clap or bow!

Island Express a subsidiary of Sector 7 Space Laboratories The Island Express Company started when I realized how many times I used the Old Airbase Island as a benchmark for my craft builds, I figured if I am going to build a useful craft it should at least go a considerable distance. Also when building watercraft I often found myself going to the Island just to see it in the background of my watercraft. Below is my latest work from Island Express and the logo that was created for it. Note: Many of the craft had design changes so you may see some differences in them from the pictures and video. See below for more details. More Photos Here The Island Express Ferry Project When I started building the Ferry I wanted to have some vehicles to transport to the Island, easier said than done in KSP as we know. So a Rover was my choice for something small like a car and quick to build, here is where my adventure began. One problem after the next arose as it does in KSP which just adds to all the fun and the first problem appeared quickly. The Ferry's Hull was hitting the coastline before the ramp leaving a gap that would not allow vehicles to drive aboard, now here comes the idea of a boarding ramp, it takes a little adjusting of the Ferry's distances to work. Next problem was loading muiltiple craft on the Ferry to show the capability of the Ferry, well this was time consuming lauching one at a time and I am focused on a Stock Only process for others that don't use Mods like Hyperedit. Next solution transport mulitible rovers at one time and the idea was a Rover Cart to travel with many at once. Next hurdle was loading so many Kerbals to drive them and a Tram came to mind. Now with all the Rovers and Kerbals loaded we are heading to the Ferry to board......yea right! The Rover Cart started sliding into the water, now we have to decide to lauch the Rover Cart again and the Tram again or just push it to the beach and continue boarding. This is where the Aqua Tram was going to come into play. I was able to push the Rover Cart and load more Kerbals if needed, both Trams are very useful. The Personnel Carrier is another idea I thought about during the Ferry Project and wasn't planned to be a part of the project until I started tweaking the top of the Ferry and realized that the top could be a Heliport for the Personnel Carrier. After all these craft started becoming a fleet I decided to call it The Island Express Pack. I hope you enjoyed this little summary of my adventures with the Island Express Ferry and I hope you enjoy the craft as well. This is one of those times when bigger is better, nice craft build! Just an Fyi, About the 800 debris, KSP has settings to limit that. -

I had some small craft that were shaking badly and I added struts to stop the shaking, not sure if this will help with a large ship.

The Hovercraft was looking really nice, then you added cargo and it started looking awesome, very nice work! Is the loading ramp working with hinges or is this visual for the photo shoot? I also know the headaches of loading craft on the watercraft, I am having my struggles right now with my Island Ferry when loading Rovers!
