Castille7 replied to GusTurbo's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Stuck on small craft designs again, this is my Aurora 2000. Its a VTOL / Watercaft with a dual seat and runs lite on fuel. I guess if I would have worked with it long enough I could have packed more Juno Engines under it to liftoff with full tanks but decided to go with the lighter version and it still has lots of flight time. I should have named it with some kind of insect name because it looks like a bug. During testing I found the water is much nicer in 1.1 and underwater is looking much better also. I will have some views in my upcoming video. As soon as I get a chance to download the video I'll post the craft on the Spacecraft Exchange Forum. Aurora 2000 -

SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here
Castille7 replied to tsunam1's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
A long time ago they had a few pod racers having a lot of fun following the rivers on Kerbin, if you haven't tried that yet you might enjoy it, I never did yet but it looked like lots of fun! Also just an fyi, you might want to keep craft on the craft exchange forum maintainers like to keep things organized on here. -
77 Industries: SY1 & SY2 Super Yachts
Castille7 replied to Azimech's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
@Azimech I finally had a chance to take a cruise on your SY2 Alcyone and its amazing! I don't have any Mods loaded for 1.1 so I removed the Ore Tank and added some reaction wheels thinking that the tank was for ballast to hold the craft level but later discovered it was for holding down the bow at high speeds. Also I added the new Large Cargo Landing Gear to roll it out to sea, these work great and they surprised me when they started pivoting, too cool . Used an OKTO2 remote so I wouldn't harm any Kerbals. I was able to get up to about 25m/s before the bow started lifting then I shut down all the engines on the bow and was able to get near 30m/s. I used full warp to get to the island running at about 27m/s and at half throttle with continuous maneuvers keeping it under 30m/s it handled great. The action of the craft when steering is awesome, I was not expecting it to lean into the turns. Anyway the testing with this all stock version in 1.1 did great for me and I had a lot of fun with it, thought you might like to know the results. -
04/15/2016 "Spacecraft Fridays Live On"
Castille7 replied to Castille7's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thank you Major for the nice comment and I do apologize for posting a craft that does not allow us to download it and I do agree all craft that are being presented should have a craft file to share but it's not a rule for Maintainers to only present craft with craft files. I would also agree that it doesn't make any sense to post a craft on Spacecraft Fridays if the craft isn't a working craft and maybe it shouldn't have been picked, it was a quick post for me because I was pressed for time. In the future I will be sure the craft have files and are a functional craft. @Azimech if you could please sir provide a craft file for this post when you have time or whenever one becomes available and please don't feel obligated to. @MadRocketScientist Majorjim has a very good point here, maybe this rule should be added to the Maintainers Rules or a list of craft types that can be shared on SCF? -
Standard disclaimer: said: Who are you to decide this, I hear you asking, and here's the answer: No one. I am not official in any way, shape, or form. If you're unhappy with my decision, we can work something out. This is just my opinion, since there's no objective way to judge "Quality" of crafts. If anyone feels that their craft is missed because of any kind of time-zone difference, or any kind of difference in when spacecraft fridays is put up, tell me. If your craft is really good and was made before, and someone posts in it within that week, then it will be considered. Just to clarify, I am not encouraging necros for the sake of bumping your craft. 04/15/2016 "Spacecraft Fridays Live On" In no particular order I haven't been able to test all the craft but I am sure most are nice working craft. I would first like to mention that this is my first post for SCF and this week we have some newcomers to the forums and they are coming in strong. My first craft I present is the Grey Ghost Rover built by @Caligari Welcome to the forums and to Spacecraft Friday's! Your Grey Ghost Rover has caught my eye this week and it is very innovative and unique. I will be cursing in this Rover for a while. I would like to add that Caligari has other impressive craft on this link as well. Grey Ghost Rover Next up is Mr. @Azimech always known for creative engineering on the forums that draw my interest everytime. Azimech has delivered to the Kerbal world it's........................ Once again another popular craft builder on the forums Mr. @Cupcake... always producing some of the coolest craft on the smallest scale possible but yet with so much functionality. Cupcake can be counted on for a great video as well. Bringing it on again to the forums with....... Tui - Light Athmo Dropship (Pre-Release) Another newcomer to the forums @Peril Welcome to the forums and this weeks Spacecraft Fridays. I am a sucker for futuristic looking craft and you have shown some good craft building skills here with this craft. Halo Reach YSS-1000 Sabre Once more another craft builder that has brought many outstanding craft builds for us to enjoy....... Mr. @zekes and this one is surely amazing, the amount of time it took to build this Superbattleship can be seen in it's beauty. I love the much used steel on the ship because it gives it a very tough look. HMS Allegemeine - Superbattleship! That's it for this weeks Spacecraft Friday's, they had a few other very nice craft builds out there and wish I had more time to post. Thank you for checking it out and thanks to all the craft builders that continue to give us craft to download and enjoy!

I can give you one! YAY!! This is amazing, it's hard enough coming up with the concept and then to pull it off in KSP is awesome! -
The incredible team of people it takes to produce these types ships are so amazing it's mind boggling.

As I stand in amazement would there be some Juno's engines in the cylinders are will there be? -
Maverick - S7V
-
Sector 7 Space Laboratories - VTOL Division - Maverick S7V The handling is very nice but not a quick handling craft, bank turns are a little slow and also when landing like an Airplane it's very challenging because of it's small wingspan and weight. The craft requires high speed landings with gentle touch downs and full braking is a good idea as soon as you hit the pavement. With the Panthers kicking with afterburners in the rear it looks really cool in flight. Maverick - S7V Flight Operations: Engage RCS and SAS, throttle up to full then press spacebar and this will engage the lift engines for VTOL if you perfer to takeoff like an Airplane press spacebar a second time to engage the rear engines. The lift engines are on action group 1 and the Panthers on the Stern are on 2 with Mode Toggle on 3, leave all engines engaged during flight until enough speed is gained to maintain flight with out the lift engines. When landing, half throttle has been working for a slow descent then use the Vernor Engines (Letter K) to control your rate of descent. Special Note: Maverick S7V will put an advanced pilots skills at tense levels when landing on the runway at the Island or at Mission Control if you are planning a complete stop on the runway. Controls 1- Toggle Wheesley Engines 2- Toggle Panthers 3- Toggle Panther Mode 4- Verticle Landing Lights Craft Files Maverick S7V

Because I don't seem to have enough irons in the fire I started working on this little VTOL, handling is very nice but not a quick handling craft, bank turns are a little slow and also when landing like an Airplane it's very challenging because of it's small wingspan and weight, this requires high speed landings with a gentle touch down and full braking is a good idea as soon as you hit the pavement. With the Panthers kicking with afterburners in the rear it looks really cool in flight. I am still tweaking Star Hunter to be able to land when lite on fuel and not sure if it's going to be released but I will be sure to release this one soon. I am not sure what takes longer, building a craft or coming up with a good name for it?...lol Maverick - S7V (VTOL) -

@pTrevTrevs I love the new wheels in 1.1 but not when sitting still on the runway, the craft starts to slide so I was immediately pressing Z and Spacebar to get a straight run. There are still a few bugs in this new version but so many nice updates too! The smoke trails seem a little longer which looks much better, when holding a ladder you can now board a pilot command chair, the Sunshine seems to have improved, wheel stress was added or improved. Loving KSP even more!

This craft is getting up to 200+ m/s but also gets destroyed, chutes could be added or thrust limits could be set if you prefer. This is mostly a craft show and for fun, I am also not sure if this is something others are ok with or not. I am setting up a poll for this reason. No autographs please!
