I have updated everything to 0.90. Whole hour without a crash. Only thing is, now all of Tantares pods lost EVA ability... There are no portraits to click ;/ Stock ones work fine.

In 0.90, having only a half of my 24.2 mods im running out of memory in about 30 minutes. 24.2 is stable @ 3.58gb after 3-4h, while 0.90 crashes @ 3gb in said 30 min. So yeah, still waiting for U5.

So, ive updated my 0.24.2 career with latest Tantares parts, and i have a blast!. New textures are way better than od ones. Couple of problems came up: 1) Almach, G-OP, TK and PP+ chutes seem stock. Is that intentional? Im positive that at least almach used to work with 24.2 realchutes. 2) TST return chute, staging or pressing 'decouple' decouples the chute itself if nothing is stacked above it. 3) Fuji heatshield is about 1m wider than the command module. 4) T-OMS top attachment node seems off. Part clips well inside anything above it. Soyuz pod`s bottom node clips things alittle aswell, only 1/4 of it sticks out. node_stack_bottom = 0.0, -0.585, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 1 node_stack_top = 0.0, 0.585, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 1 Which value moves nodes vertically? I realise that being 2 versions behind may cause problems, but until now Tantares pack seemed pretty backward-compatible. Edit: Also, over 500 pages. Congrats are in order!

Kubricks dead. Maybe Michael Bay could take over...

Discovered free energy! Ekhm.

I use Kerbals for EVA reports only. Everything else is done by probes and sattelites. No need for life support, and that alone saves you tons of dv. The only thing a single probe cant do is biome hopping. Unless theres a mod that can transfer and store experiments that im not aware of. That being said, TACLS, FAR, DRE and RT are mods that i cant play without. KSP is too trivial without them.

After few months without KSP, in last two days, i`ve: 1) Redesigned mission parameters from my old 23.5 Minmus Fuel Depot, and completed it in just 5 launches (i couldnt wrap my head around it back then). 3 unmanned Karbonite drills, modular fuel hauler (4k dv to spare), OKS space station holding 20k+ of every fuel there is, + conversion ifrastructure, + self-sustaining life support and facilities for 6 Kerbals. 2) Did research on, and filled 5 A4 pages of paper with notes and ideas for my first interplanetary trip. Im going for Duna, unmanned at first, comm-sats, surface fuel depot on Ike, maybe with small MKS outpost for 2-3 Kerbals. I have yet to design SSTO Ike-Duna craft. Its going to be fun. 3) Finally deployed 8 solar arrays with Intersellar microwave transmitters in low Kerbol orbit. On paper they`ve seem magnificent. Due to design error, all of those together cant propel a single 1.25m thermal rocket...

What have you learned to do without an autopilot?
Plusk replied to Starhawk's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Ive never used MJ. Whatever autopilot can do, real pilot can do better. If i wanted to watch flying rockets, id google some space documentary. IMO, first succesfull rdv is a thrill everyone should experience. One without using nodes, just KER. -
What was the First thing you did when you got KSP?
Plusk replied to michaelsteele3's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Coming from Orbiter, where i flown spaceplanes exclusively (any Ravenstar pilots out here?) i was suprised how easily i can achieve orbit with a rocket. Then i realized i need chutes to get back down... -
Scott Manley showcases everything I find wrong with FAR
Plusk replied to foxkill2342's topic in KSP1 Discussion
FAR and DRE were the first mods i installed, back in 0.23. I enjoy realistic flight models it gives me. That said, ive never landed on a runway. I tend to land just north of it, i touch down about 300m due west of the runway, and gently land until im safely splashed down in the sea ;P -
Both Odysseys and all 4 Alien movies got me into Scifi genre. Also, in my experience, Alien 1 has the best movie-to-getting laid ratio of all scifi movies ive watched with someone. So yeah, ill go with that one. And not mentioned here "Dark City". Good movie, year older than first Matrix, basicly its a noir matrix w/o fancy special effects.

Have you ever met anyone who thinks that Apollo was fake?
Plusk replied to FishInferno's topic in The Lounge
As a teenager, i used to hang out with people like that. Conspiracy treories, hoaxes, paranormal stuff, UFO etc. I did research those things, realising that most of it is just mental, end eventually leaving the group, while other spiraled down to pseudo-religions, flat earth theories and benevolent people from Venus (higher dimention Venus ofc, regular one would be just stupid aint it?). Hell, i even dated a girl that believed that there are just 'planets' Sun, Moon and Earth and the stars. Becouse. Also, only dead people can go to 'heaven' so spaceflight is prepostrous. When i shown her (with my mighty binoculars!) Jupiter with it moons, ISS and some sattelites, she simply went ape....-crazy on me. I still believe in extraterrestials tho, there are even some UFOs in Apollo pictu... khem... photos -
Ive stopped playing KSP with 0.90 release. For me, performance issues grew bigger with every single update. And with 0.90, having less than half of my favorite mods and crashing every 20-30 minutes, ive snapped. My gpu is barely utilised, while my cpu can choke itself to death on certain parts. I can build 100-part space station that runs just fine, while having 5 fps with a single Mk1-2 pod on a launchpad... And funny thing is, i can run most recent games with medium to high settings just fine. Until some real multi-core support, and better gpu utilisation, i have to stick to my 23.5 career. And dont get me wrong, i still love KSP, but id like to try newer versions, with all new fancy mods that come with them, without buying whole new Intel-based rig and switching to Linux, just to play a single game.

Need help with relay beacon placement for RT2
Plusk replied to RainDreamer's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You may find this usefull: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1646976/KSP%20Calc/index.html Get all 3 sats on one rocket, reach Ap of 1600 km, set Pe to 557.83 km. Deploy one sat every time you reach Ap again. Oh and remember to set decouplers power as low as posible. I prefer eyeballing it myself You need propelled satelites, preferably ion, as KSP engine cant keep stable, precise orbits. At 1600 km orbit your triangle config will go out of sync very fast. -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
Plusk replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Im still using 24.2 version, but US TAC pack should have aditional config for more TAC-like amounts. At least mine does -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]

Yes. Larger ones are ment for interplanetary trips. And those can take much longer than a year. -
Where will YOUR kerbonauts celebrate New Year's Eve?
Plusk replied to viktor19's topic in KSP1 Discussion
50+t vacuum SSTO capital ship named "2015" manned by 6 kerbals ready to leave Kerbins SOI for the first time EVER. All of my Kerbals are onboard. Its capable of Duna, Eve or with some fancy manuvering, Jool. As it is 1h 15 till midnight im not shure where i want to go. -
[1.1.2][1-1-2] May 13-2016 EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements
Plusk replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Question if i may. First post has hi-res download link. Yet in the repository file name ends with LR, like in low-res. Also, ingame clouds seem flat and square`ish. Is it correct link for hires? I always used EVE with Astronomers pack, but thats got too heavy for me recently, as all my part-packs grew bigger, and im tired of crashes every 30 minutes. I need some clouds that doesnt look like gray squares at 150-300km where most of my junk is. I can pass on other planets since im happy doing stuff in Kerbins SOI*. * Altho New years eve 50t+ somewhat SSTO capital ship named "2015" manned by 6 Kerbals is already in LKO ready to go elsewhere at midnight. Duna or Eve? I like pink things. -
As someone said before, Tantares has awesome 2-man pod. Its the only pod im using since 23.5. Slap orbital module on it and you have 3-man pod with 1.25m footprint.

With lots and lots of mods. The more difficult it is, the better. And i follow somewhat realistic aproach to space exploration.

Wrong section and double posting... All of the old tutorials are still valid for the curent MKS/OKS. Only thing that has changed are the resources in use. Fill every module with basic machinery and provide a pile of spare parts, punchcards and compost. Make shure aeroponics is manned and connected to a greenhouse. Also, you want smart kerbals, and lots of room for efficiency purposes. Edit: while this is only semi-sustaining, a single inflatable of those resources will last you for ages.

A builder, mostly. 75% of every mission is spent in VAB. If its not designed well, its usless. If it looks like its going to work, it doesnt merit the test flight. If it fails during test flight, i had to be drunk. I aim at perfection. Also a space geek. I tried a multitude of real things in KSP, with only 40% of them working, either to ksp limitations, or to my errors in design/execution. Still fun to do tho.
