  2. landing an almost empty SSTO ? Most SSTO's are "almost empty" when the come back down. Oh and FYI. MULLET was built TO be basic. Also I've landed, Mmm countless SSTO's, most "almost empty" and while I dont have and mods to make it more realistic or any mods at all atm I do understand that that landing that massive amount of tanks without parachute's would be a challenge not that I ever said it would be infact I never mentioned anything about the flight difficulty.   3. Just 10 tn !! That thing is Huge and it only lifts 10 tonne I think either you have your numbers off a little or you need to maybe consider a re-design maybe changing the aero spikes for somthin less thrusty Below is my Mullet cargo max payload 45tn and the Mk2 is up to almost 60tn
  4. I've been sending out my 2nd set of ships to Duna in my 0.25 career save <$200000 for all u see below As they all traveled to orbit on my MULLET cargo SSTO the new tug craft seems to handle the task well
  5. A Carpet bomber would be cool Q. Are you sure its a 60tn payload. Looks more like 10 the FLT-400 Tank only has a mass of 2.25 & no other part of your probes look over 1tn ( orange Jumbo 64 tanks only = 36tn )

Mmm Strange its only on OX I checked the fuel lines and all seemed connected correctly although its hard to tell when there nice and neat and tiny like they are here I'll see if peeling it back and... I shall investigate further ... No no that just made it switch sides Seems which ever side you connect the stack to drains after ... and I mean after the other. But only OX .   11. Science was fun but there's only so many times u can do the same things over & over again. I like the new challenge of keeping things cheap but capable. Also the added challenge of no reverts. That need has me testing in sandbox to use in career. The mobile base while fun is not that practical as most people are more likely to fly from one biome to another rather then spend ages roving at low speeds on the surface. I believe this is the main reason its not that popular.
  12. Not much talk on the subject as there not hard to make. Had lots of whole modular mobile base setups back in 0.19 when I was into Kethane. There lots of fun, roving Duna was a lot of fun and now that we have sandstorms and new boime's to explore I do feel the need to do some more just minus the mining....mmm another topic another time, yes roving is fun but it has its limits I Do have something I can Add thou Roflcopterkklol but is still very much WIP. Planing on dropping it on Duna, funds depending I'm finding it hard these days to manage my budget, to many big plans Its a sort of centipede approach very simple very basic and I'm hopful that will mean not to expensive My Laythe AC2 fits the bill, not quite what u mean .

I think this fits in here nicely 0.25 first SP+ rep contender a large cargo SSTO - "Slugger" Well as large as I can for now. 10tn tested might do more but it wouldn't fit I've now completed my 3rd flight in a row with dramas so I'm calling this 1 done for now. Slugger hits a home run by being able to get to orbit with enough left over to reach a 300 km station with the cargo untouched. Haven't tried to reach mun but I bet it could do a flyby. Will have to try later I think. Only seats 4 but its easy to swap a cargo bay for 2 passenger segments as the rear cockpit is the main part and connector but don't worry as there is no bendiness in it as its been thoroughly wobble tested Can handle long x4 time warp without major hassle Glides with ease even when fully laden Complete action list and what I believe to be the best flight plan in craft description Download and try it for yourself Also works as a bomber Just flip the cargo bays

Finally did it I got a decent size SP+ cargo SSTO I present ; Slugger Built to carry 9 tn to or from orbit using only SP+ parts except batteries rcs etc It can take a while to build up speed and needs action key fiddling to get the most out of the 6 rapiers. Mmm if only I had fuel balancer. It can glide to a safe landing, its balanced ish around the centre of the 2 cargo bays ... it flys great plus easy to dock & can watch from the back of the plane
  15. Oh Yes Yes This sounds like a great idea. if the Devs don't implement that soon somebody should so make a mod for it I'd also like it if they could just work out the glitches that see me always moving the camera to place parts in large builds
  16. I agree with the OP I wonder if there is anyway to tweak individual structures and there impact tolerance limit ? Mainly for the runway and launch platform. That way we keep cool fireworks but don't kill the platform with a heavy rocket swaying in the breeze or a massive SSTO touching down(not crashing ) on the runway

  19. I could have left it in space if I wanted 2 but the flight above was a testing flight for the MULLET cargo Mk 1. I needed to know not only if it could get all 45 tn to orbit but also if it could handle landing with it as this craft will be used not only for cargo delivery but also retrieval of spent 2nd & 3rd Stage rockets. For the score I assumed, wrongly it appears, that the challenge was getting cargo to orbit only with the last pic just to show it can also land really easily Also its now been superseeded by Mk2 with a lift capacity of 60tn but I'll stick with the 1 above for the challenge. Edit; It was a full untouched orange tank ( was also part of test to see if it could go up and back without using said orange tank or RCS)

Lifters, I like lifters they lift things really well I use this atm to move 50 tn to LKO and this to lift 200tn+ to laythe the first I'm yet to give out as its still a work in progress then second Is with the navy pack for witch it was created as a sub-assembly ( Sorry I dont have assembly by its self )
