View zoom out on camera mode change
*Aqua* replied to brusura's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
You missed to change the camera mode (key "c") after step b. This seems to crucial. -
Squad needs to get it together.
*Aqua* replied to Cycoboy's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Then don't play it. It's as simple as that. As for development speed: Do you have any idea how much work there needs to be done? AAA games are produced by 200-500 people over the course of 3 to 5 years. Squad can't compare to them. -
Every Spaceplane falls over accelerating
*Aqua* replied to Rashim's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Can you upload a screenshot of your plane? What mods do you use? -
0.25 Kerbin surface textures "washed out"
*Aqua* replied to JackCY's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
You think so? I think they only changed a texture. It's not that simple. Any pilot who trusts his senses more than his instruments is prone to spatial disorientation. It doesn't matter if he's flying over grass or something other. -
0.25 Kerbin surface textures "washed out"
*Aqua* replied to JackCY's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Intentional. I like the new grass. The old one was just "green", the new one at least looks like grass. The same happens in RL. It's called motion blur. Our brain is not fast enough to keep up with the velocity. -
If you have RPM it is possible.

Remote Tech doesn't seem to be working?
*Aqua* replied to crucy86's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I don't know what you mean. What installer? Are you sure you put the contents of the RemoteTech-zip in the right folder? Please post your <KSP_dir>\KSP_Data\output_log.txt and upload a screenshot of your satellite with visible height and ressources panel. -
Remote Tech doesn't seem to be working?
*Aqua* replied to crucy86's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Please give more information. 1. Is your rocket in space or still on the start ramp? 2. Does it have a manned command module or a probe core with or without a SPU? 3. Does it have an antenna? 4. Is it within antenna range to the space center or another part of your communication network? 5. Are there planets or moons which block the signal? -
Crashes and BSODs today
*Aqua* replied to Nesterus's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
In 97% of all cases a BSOD is caused by faulty drivers. The rest is caused by faulty hardware. I most cases the gpu driver are buggy. Try another version and tell us if it helped. Windows will not BSOD because of low memory. It will simply enlarge the pagefile to provide more (virtual) memory if allowed. If it isn't allowed it will reject user programs to allocate (more) memory and thus letting them crash. -
KW Rocketry engine joints
*Aqua* replied to Mordekhay88's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
This can happen because of the "explode" function of Kronal Vessel Viewer as Scott Manley shows in this . -
Administration strategies bug
*Aqua* replied to Beduino's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
What are your difficulty settings? Maybe you set the rewards to 50% and the game incorrectly calculates the reward. Example: Reward 100 science points -50% difficulty (not shown) -50% strategy (shown) = 0 science points In a way that makes sense. -
KSP: 0.25 Windows 32 Bit from Steam running on Windows 8.1 64 Bit build id = 00642 2014-10-07_10-59-44 Branch: master Problem: There is a visible gap at one side of the Mission Control building. Building also misses some textures. Reproduction steps: Build a manned craft in the VAB or SPH and launch it. EVA the Kerbal and walk to the Mission Control building. Walk up the northern stair well (the one facing the runway). Results: There is a visible gap at the east side and some other parts at the building. The building looks misplaced by 1-2 meters to the west. A Kerbal can stand on the invisible ground. A Kerbal collides with the building walls as it should do (= no walking through walls or hitting invisible walls). All other buildings are placed at the right spots as far as I have seen. It's only the Mission Control building with the errors. The north stair well misses a few textures. The south stair well is fine. Logs: KSP.log: link output_log.txt: link Screenshots: There is a small gap in the ground at the south side of the building near the stair well. At the other side, too. There is a narrow but long gap in the ground at the east side of the building. A Kerbal can stand on the invisible ground. The northern stair well misses a few textures. This post is a duplicate of this one. As suggested I confirmed the bugs without a modded install. (Thx @ Nathan)

KSP: 0.25 Windows 32 Bit on Windows 8.1 64 Bit Problem: There is a visible gap at one side of the Mission Control building. Building also misses some textures. Mods installed: BoxSat vA.02 Deadly Reentry v6.0 Kerbal Engineer Redux v1.0.9.3 NEAR v1.2.1 RemoteTech v1.5.0 ModuleManager 2.5.0 Reproduction steps: Build a manned craft in the VAB or SPH and launch it. EVA the Kerbal an walk to the Mission Control building. There is a visible gap at the east side and some other parts at the building. The building looks misplaced by 1-2 meters to the west. A Kerbal can stand on the invisible ground. The north stair well of the building misses a few textures. The south stair well is fine. It don't think the mods are the cause. Log: KSP.log: link output_log.txt: part 1, part 2 (splitted because of size) I quitted the game by Alt+F4, so the end of the logs can be messy. Screenshots: Small gap at the north of the building near the stair well. The same gap is also on the southern side. Narrow but long gap at the east of the building. Missing textures of the northern stair well.

I bought it when it came out on Steam. What was the price then? Maybe 17 € (~21.50 US$)? Too cheap for what I got. In my opinion it's currently worth at least 30 € (~38 US$). For the finished version I would pay at least 40-45 € (~50-57 US$). The only games which I played as often as KSP are Master of Orion II, Counter-Strike, Civilization III and Europa Universalis IV.

I thought some astrologist or alchemist created them but I'm not sure. The symbols explained: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrological_symbols#Meanings_of_the_symbols My try for the Kerbol system: There are squares around the symbols. Ignore them. My approach was to imagine what Kerbals can see looking at the sky. Sun Simple symbol for brightness. Moho From Kerbin you can only see it when it's 90° left or right of the sun. In that case you can only see the half which is in sun light. Eve The same as Moho but with triangles because you probably see more details and/or Gilly. Kerbin These are two triangles at the top and bottom. Those are for "up" and "down" or sky and earth. What do you think how intelligent Kerbals can be? ^^ Mun Shows the different mun phases. Minmus A lying eight or glasses. Later because you probably need them to see this moon. Or you can think of it as "second" moon. Duna Ice caps! Dres None. It's probably impossible to see from Kerbin with the naked eye. Jool It's a gas giant and like Jupiter and Saturn it's very bright in the sky. But not as bright as the sun, so less lines. Eeloo None. Too far to be seen from Kerbin. What do you think of them?
-
Doesn't sound like you tried an efficient Hohmann transfer orbit. You have to wait for the right time spot (when the phase angle is right) or time window (time spot +/- a few days) and then lower the periapsis until it hits the orbit of your target. Picture is misleading. Kerbin should be 54° ahead not behind Eve. You can calculate the phase angle with tools like this one: http://ksp.olex.biz/ Or ignore all this crap, take enough fuel und burn straight there.

I bought Endless Space when it came out. I thought it was a modern Master of Orion 2. While the build up of your empire comes close to MoO, the combat is really lacking in my opinion. You just assemble a small fleet, throw in some modifier 'cards' and watch, what happens. The game does a lot things right but combat really sucks.

Fitting rotational gravity segments on rockets?
*Aqua* replied to DominusNovus's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Curved segments are no problem. They just have to make sure the mass is (almost) centered and small enough to fit into the payload box. The most difficult problem is the amount of work which has to be done on a space walk. On Earth building a 100 diameter ring made of high tech stuff already needs months of labor. In space they'll probably need years or decades. Another problem would be the uneven distribution of mass in this ring. The astronauts will move around and cause oscillations every time they step on the "ground". I'm not sure how to avoid wobble and spinning the station out of control. -
How much science is there to get?
*Aqua* replied to Streetwind's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I read there are about 70k points to collect. I don't know the exact number though. -
Thanks again! I just learned something new. In my country 'engineer' is commonly associated with constructing something sturdy, like buildings. There is no 'Chem-E', we usually call him chemist. And there is no 'ME', we call him pathologist or simply doctor (also called 'gods in white [lab coat]').

Are these abbreviations common in the English speaking world?
-
You are right. I didn't think about that. I don't know what you mean with EE but thank you very much for your calculation. So the the voltage is in the µ-region. Yeah, that's really not enough. Thanks to everyone for your comments!

How weak is it? What current can you expect?
