  1. Based on my hours played alone, I would say it's my favorite game, followed by FTL, Elder Scrolls games, Thief games, and Galactic Civ. Oh and the tropico series. Given it's niche appeal however, I'm sure many would say World of Warcraft or maybe Tetris is considered to be the most played of all time. Minecraft is up there too, but I don't like that game myself.
  2. I put stuff I'm docking with above 240 so I can use x1000 time warp.
  3. So that's what it might look like on Laythe. Neat.
  4. Although it would be useful for Kerbals to do simple missions for me, like refueling a Jool space station or something, I can't stand the idea of Kerbals sucking at flying. If they can't complete a mission with a proven ship because of a low piloting skill than I will fly the damded thing myself. On the argument mentioned earlier about some ships not working because a non buffed Kerbal is in the command seat than you made a poorly designed ship. Just because you have a guy with a 5% ISP doesn't mean you should design the ship with just enough fuel so only that Kerbal can pilot it. Nobody designs crafts for a single special guy to pilot. That's a ridiculous argument. The ISP buffs in reality will make little or no difference in ship design. Although I think it's fine that a kerbal may have a science perk I think it's a bit pointless. You can already unlock the whole tech tree on hard mode in a few launches. How much easier do you want it to be. An ISP perk will be useful forever. A science perk is basically a waste. That being said, I would rather have the ability to research better versions of the engines with better ISP, and not have perks that only help one ship that one guy is on.
  5. I too want this. I would use it constantly. Hinges and doors would be fantastic too.
  6. Personally I think if the Kerbals could earn certain perks like better ISP or better handling I would certainly try to keep them alive and treasure them. I think any Kerbal bonuses should only apply if the guy is in the cockpit though. Filling 10 hitchhikers with kerbal bonuses could result in missions requiring no fuel or other silly things. One thing squad should consider is that maybe to do certain things, or certain experiments, or resource mining, you would need to bring a specialist. This idea needs some work, but it is grounded in reality. Nasa launched a lot of sciencetist and specialists in the shuttle over the years. The game could use special 1 time use experiments that need assigned guys.
  7. If their experience does not effect physics, what else could these passive benefits do?
  8. I only play career with the cloud mod. I plan on downloading fine print though since it's getting added to stock anyway. Even though it can be grindy I like having to spend a fortune to build larger ships. It has encouraged me to further refine my designs. Also, the transmit science from orbit contracts give me a reason to put satellites in orbit of every planet and moon.
  9. My point is they don't have heat shields. I don't care what it says in the part description. Heat shields would have to be added to the look of the part. I would rather have more useful things done with Squads time than revisiting all or some of the existing parts just to add black tiles to them. They already made the decision NOT to do that as the black tiles have been removed from all of the parts except MK3 spaceplane, and I would bet good money the new MK3 parts won't have black tiles on them either. I could be wrong, but I'm just stating my opinion. I think their time is better spent on other features and they seem to agree with me.
  10. Wouldn't adding reentry heat be an enormous amount of work? None of the game parts have heat shields. The new MK 2 spaceplane parts had the reentry shields removed. They would have to make so many new models. I don't care much for all that and would rather have more station and base parts with IVAs. Remodelling existing stuff is a waste of resources IMO.
  11. I am very excited about the planned features and am very happy with where things are going. My biggest want was some more end game material and refuelling and now we are getting it. Some thoughts on the simplified refueling system... One possibility is refuelling stations operated by NPC Kerbals where you dock your ship and refuel, but this costs the player money. The further out the refuelling station, the higher the cost for fuel. The stations could be player built possibly, maybe the more modules, the more fuel they have, or can produce. Another simple idea is that only one type of fuel can be mined. Maybe uranium for the nuclear engine. Just a couple modules. Miner and refiner. Maybe you can mine asteroids, special ones maybe. Lastly, another possibility is an orbital refinery that only works in close proximity to Jool. Could be other possibilities.... Just some thoughts on "simple" systems with few new parts.
  12. My Jeb explored the Mohole. He was never the same after that. All he would say is that it was full of stars.
  13. I noticed that too. Sometimes Jeb flies right out of the door now. I wonder why.
  14. Game definitely needs better contracts. That said, I think there should be a lot more endgame stuff. Don't make it harder to unlock what is there, bit make more parts to unlock, including more base structures/modules, near future engines, and space station parts. Resources would also be a very important endgame thing. As it has been suggested before here, a contract could be build a science station on Vall near the Easter egg, or a refueling station on Moho.
  15. I don't normally mod my game, but when I heard about SP+ being officially added I downloaded it. I love the cargobays, and having access to them has changed the way I build my ships. I have an amazing little RCS lander that has landed and returned to the ship's cargobay from the Mun, Minmus, Duna, Ike, Pol, Bop, Vall, Dres, and Gilly. It fits nicely into the admittedly small cargobays, bit has been a blast to use. Also, my ships look much sleeker and more futuristic now.
  16. We haven't seen anything that you have filmed before so how could we make a decision? I understand that you would include more information on a kickstarter page or whatever, but it wouldn't hurt to have a link to something you have already done in your thread for us here to see.
  17. Yeah u could do this for a long time.
  18. I had a space carrier with 2 docked fighters, 4 probes, and guided missiles. Around 1500 parts. Managed to get her to a Laythe orbit, but it wasn't very fun given the low framerate. I couldn't use any time acceleration either or she tended to blow apart.
  19. It's turtles all the way down. Read that in a Stephen King book a long time ago. Dark Tower 3 I believe.
  20. Yes you can unlock batteries at any time.
  21. It's not deformable terrain. The game engine doesnt support it with these kinds of planets. The ground is only 1 pixel thick, the planet's are hollow. U can even pan the camera into the planet at the right angle.
