  1. I tend to toss on more of the control units, you can also supplement with higher powered units as well. These things do NOT turn on a dime RE GrabbyStuff... still a WIP in progress. It will be a very modest first release so do not even remotely expect a full on KAS replacement... basically grab stuff, attach stuff, use a 3D printer to spit out parts (the latter is a major difference from the use of KAS containers, and among some innovations I have in mind). No winches, no containers, no struts, no pipes. At least not initially. Granted, my preference remains for the KAS license to change to the lovely GPL one we had for like... two days (you can see this on KospY's github). that allows us to innovate without fragmentation (and no, I don't do work for closed source projects). But barring that, we'll have to innovate on our own.
  2. Actually... electric powered ducted fans are kinda a real thing The above is electric, but if the question of scale comes up - these are powered by gas turbines. FTT swaps out the power source from a combustion generator for the nuclear reactor. Which is fine, since in this sample the fuel is not a propellant, it just spins the fan blades.
  3. Yet despite people asking for a version with the original balance... nobody is stepping up to maintain that fork? I'm just interested to see where this all shakes out, especially with 0.25 coming out and another round of breakages. It may very well end up with this being the only Interstellar we have. This, as it's own mod, has also been around for a while.. it's only come to the forefront because with 0.24.2 and no Fractal, it was the only working version. There was not a call to change a name then? Either way, really up to Wave as it's his derived work.
  4. The idea is that it should not require IR... there should be an easy module delivery system to handle this.
  5. I dunno, I don't see a reason to change, it's clearly a derivative work (no different from when people have derived my stuff with changed mechanics but kept a variation of the name), and at this point a lot of folks are used to referring to this as KSPI-Experimental. Also probably a moot point as we have no Fractal_UK back right now, it's the only iteration that actually works - and if that keeps up, would not be surprised to see this become the de facto branch.
  6. Thanks the clipping issue is on my todo list for FTT. But one thing I want to have is an easy way of doing vertical placement of modules, I just need to figure out the best way of handling that.
  7. Figured I would hop into the thread. I for one am ambivalent on what people do with my stuff - it's why I use open licensing, though that is more an issue with ensuring people are not left in a lurch in the event of my departure, and to encourage innovation more than anything else. People hack and modify and extend my stuff on a regular basis. The level of support I provide for that is directly proportional to the level of courtesy they give me when discussing extending the mods I build or curate. And I have no issues sending people right back to the source if there's an issue. In the end, the problem corrects itself. It's why I don't sweat the whole 'I have to close my license so my creative vision is not spoiled'. The best stuff rises to the top, and if people toss out junk it gets buried and just goes away. I have no obligation to support it, and on a few occasions have made it pretty clear. I'll happily let you play with the tinker toy set I have over here, but if you decide to stick them in your ears, you're on your own. Open licensing is worth it for a lot of reasons, even if we do have to deal with the occasional knucklehead who can't people. This is why we have ignore lists, and in the end the community will tend to expel these people out so that the rest of us can interact like rational, reasonable humans who want to build lego spaceships.
  8. I should really take care of that... folks have made them in the past but I lost a bunch of PMs... Yes, this will fit MKS modules Working on some other stuff at the moment specifically around delivery systems, considering the best way to deliver and drop MKS modules.
  9. Dear god... Side note, why they rock tanks? You could use the rock directly for your mass drivers from the asteroid. I'll do it a balance pass tho - - - Updated - - - 75% is correct. But yeah... 4.5 million storage...
  10. I went under water because that ship weighs in excess of 180 tons Only mod there is Firespitter, which is already bundled. Oceanic is coming in the next Karbonite patch (I have a part or two to wrap up)
  11. Ok, I'll see your sweet honeybadger pics and raise you this.... (Was doing some testing for the next Karbonite release that includes oceanic, and decided to have some fun)
  12. Have some plans for this pack, more in relation to how it fits into other packs.
  13. That looks downright pretty next to the MKS bases. And yes, there's a very specific and somewhat consistent aesthetic I go for in all of the USI parts Not on the inspiration list, but I love the comparison Well out of scope I just provide the parts - I'll let you guys figure out how to fly them
  14. Just one Unless someone decides not to play in the club
  15. Yep, I will deprecate to Water/Water but I need to coordinate with the SCANSat folks to make sure we don't break anything. I wanted to make sure KSPIexp got out first
  16. Right now it does because I have some other bugs involving fuel transfer and the rails converters to track down. Short term: For payloads, disable crossfeed
  17. Make sure you have the brand new MKS version as it is now compiled against the new ORS build.
  18. Correct, my short term plan would be to make it so it is invisible from orbit and you can only get a reading on the ground, although I'd go the route of having the reading live like it is now, but no visible hotspots, so the player has to drive around looking for it.
  19. hmmm lemme think of the mechanics for this. Part of it could be through extending how the ORS scanners work. Basically, obfuscating some of the results, etc.
