Ok, you need to edit this line in the SpareParts.cfg file. Leave the max amount alone and change only amount. You need to edit the amount value for each node (you see that I defined 7 nodes, one for each crew capacity value): edit the amount for each of them. After that you will have to close and relaunch KSP, and then you should see the parts in the VAB with the amount you set. Hopefully.
-
Mandelbrot: thanks! Glad I helped AxlWolf: you need to edit the SpareParts.cfg file to set the default amount to zero, but leave the max amount to what I set. I'm on vacation right now, I'll make the configs for you when I come back.

"The math isn't wrong, KSP just isn't using the math you expect" I'll try this justification during my next physics exam and let you know how it works out for me.
-
Wait a second, fixing a glaring mistake in an equation is now sending "KSP down a path the developers, specifically Felipe, do not intend to take with the game"!? Guys this is not a request for simulator-like features. It's not about Nbody physics or radiation belts or stuff like that. You call it Isp, but it is not. That's a fact. You don't want to fix it? Not cool, but at least don't try to defend this choice. You can't get an equation wrong on purpose and then tell US we are wrong for wanting it fixed.

Yep, not impossible. As for stupid... Only time will tell me

[WIP] [Dev thread] Dang it! A random failures mod

Progress! Unity GUI is a little weird, but pretty swift when you start understanding its quirks. Also, today I learned that C# doesn't have static local variables, but VB does. They are both compiled to CIL, so I really don't see what is C#'s excuse. W/e, it's time to pack now. See you next week! -
Sure, but the owner of the site that uses Google Ads has the final word about what ads can go on rotation on his pages. I really don't care if I'm shown girls in panties (actually, moar plz), but since the moderators remind us a lot that there are also younger users on this forum, maybe they'd like to check the parameters of their account to filter these out.

Mod for no Textures, just good and vibrant Shaders.

Sorry for the little OT, but I can't help but think of the Skyrim Ultra Low Graphics mod: -
LOL Well, I did search for a flight yesterday, so that would explain the traveller's dating, I guess. I have whitelisted the forum on adblock too.

The problem is, as Nathan said, metadata. How would it know how to download the mod? Because it's not the same thing if the mod is hosted on curse, mediafire, kerbalstuff, github... each site is very different in how it handles downloads. I kinda don't want AVC to become a package manager for the simple reason that so far all the mod managers have pretty much either failed or have been adopted by very few people, because of these problems. I'd like to see AVC become a standard, and I fear that managing features would end up hindering the adoption. Or maybe I'm completely wrong, dunno.

Awesome! It's also nice to know he's still around, give him a poke from all of us -
/me drools. Do want.

Hi guys, I just got this ad here on the forum. Not that I have a problem with it, but since you often remind us that there are also kids on this forum, I thought you might want to check this. Cheers.
-
Yep, sure. Totally what we meant there, buddy. I especially liked how you also bolded my "are you ok with that" which is really a long stretch. You know what? I'm so done with this thread. You point out there are obvious errors in KSP's physics and you get replies telling you to go play orbiter. I won't tell you where to go because I'd be permabanned. Over and out.
-
And if KSP was a better teaching tool, you'd know that not all reentries need to be lifting reentries like the shuttle's. Also, yes, , but nobody wants RSS to be stock (not even me or regex) so I really don't understand why you keep talking about it.
-
... which is something only you seemed to notice in the thread, and I am sure nobody has ever thought about except for you.
-
IIRC, Maxmaps has said a simplified life support is coming down the line. Does anybody remember where?
-
I beg to differ, sir: Update: you will notice that all the help that is needed is just mechjeb. Not a particularly exotic or complex tool.
-
It's funny because your post really shows the problem Nathan just talked about.
-
I should know: I am an engineer. Also, your rebuttal revolves around a real size solar system, but if you had payed attention to the thread, NOBODY WANTS THAT IN STOCK. Please let it be the last time we have to spell it out. Nobody is asking for the full RSS/RO suite to become stock: what we do want, is to treat physics with some respect. The stock system doesn't have to be realistic, but it should at least be plausible, and in any case it should be believable. As fun as it is, the current solar system is just IMPOSSIBLE. And this is not right. On a sidenote: I am playing with RSS and reentries most definitely do not last 70 minutes. 70 minutes was just the real-life shuttle, but a simple capsule can easily re-enter in less than 5 minutes (and yes, it does survive). So this is not a valid argument against the request nobody is making anyway.

Hey Nathan, what's the deal with "RealHeat"? It is mentioned a couple times in this thread and there is a config for it in RSS, but I can't find anything on the forum even with google... From the config file it looks like something that gives atmospheres a proper temperature, is it correct?
-
And you are ok with that? Seriously: why should we just surrender to mediocrity? "Other people are wrong: let's be wrong too!". There is a difference between "simplified game mechanic for the sake of fun" and "contradicts everything we know about the universe", especially in a game about space exploration.

Also, quick dev update: I have implemented the perks feature, and, surprise surprise, it's bugged as hell Unfortunately, just having the perks means nothing if you don't have a GUI to check what skills they have, and to train them more, so that's what I'm working on right now. But considering that I'll be on vacation next week, I don't think it's going to be finished very soon (I'll go trekking on the Dolomites). But it's coming together
