  1. As pessimistic as I am I would never mock anyone for this opinion. I would much rather you get to say I told you so and I be wrong and have KSP2 (I would also say and all intercept employees get to keep their job… but that ship seems to have sailed)
  2. I literally loled. Need a little humor right now, thanks for that Vanamonde that was well played.
  3. This is the worst part of this. I’ve been laid off exactly once and it was soul crushing, even being in an industry that it didn’t take long at all to get back on my feet. If it is over, I hope the severance package is enough to get them through.
  4. If this is a restructure out or EA where they will just tell us when it’s done… absolutely the best possible path forward. I don’t think EA will go well after this, no way they can win back the confidence that the game won’t be abandoned after this. The rumor and a clarification the next business day? Maybe. But not after this silence and the god awful corpo speak tweet from the general business account.
  5. Same but the game really needs an option to still bring it up by right clicking on the part, and to have smaller window when you don’t need all 30 fuel tanks also clogging the screen.
  6. Yeah. He responded to me saying that I was very incorrect across the board for saying that science would be at least 1/2 a year after launch (it was) and that new features would probably take years (seemingly highly probable now.) Never apologized or acknowledged that he misspoke/misunderstood me/heck even just was too optimistic. He even asked that nothing he says be posted to other platforms because it “happened once and was taken out of context.” I don’t know how it was taken out of context, I gave an entire screenshot of the exchange and confirmed (via a question and an emoji salute response from him) that he was talking to me. At the time of posting I posted it with a positive title and said it was reason for me to be a little hopeful. But I later used it to hold IG to his words and that I guess is taking it out of context? No it was an example of misleading communication which is a reason for the breakdown in trust. If you can’t back up your words don’t say them, like say that you for sure have all the funding and there’s no chance of having the plug pulled. I still hope this game somehow makes it through this, and again wish no ill will to any developer. Losing a job is way worse that not getting a game you want, for all that are effected (even devs that unintentionally misled) I hope you are able to find work quickly. I’m ranting a bit about this game but I do always want to have that caveat. I’m ranting at the situation, the game, and the studio as a whole, not trying to attack anyone and recognize that the devs are having a way way worse week than us fans. Ill honor his wishes and not name him or link to it, but it’s not too hard if you search my username on discord and scroll all the way down to like my 6th message ever in the discord to verify I’m saying the truth. The silence is deafening. And quite disrespectful to the CM team to have the non descript KSP profile tweet and post to discord their “update” and not their CMs.
  7. Ah yes the famous one where the dev said (paraphrased) I talked to Dakota and apparently we can’t just ban people for voicing criticism that isn’t in my precise format. But just know I don’t have to read any criticism that isn’t that! A full business day without any clarification beyond an empty corpo speak tweet. I wish all the individuals affected by the layoffs the best and that they can find work to provide for their families. But after the way the fans of this game have been mistreated for so long KSP2 deserves the reviews it’s getting over this mess. the full quote, as I’m aware I’m interpreting it about as negatively as I can. The poster in that dev update said: I’ve chatted with Dakota and the others on the Community team… and they don’t ban people for hitting us with hard criticism. You bought the game, and you are VERY entitled go full rage-mode on the boards when you run into an issue. But, at the same time: we don’t have to read it Definitely reads like he either wanted or was surprised that those with harsh criticism aren’t banned.
  8. I’ve seen a lot of doomsaying and an almost equal amount of attacks at those who were critical or doubtful the game would be finished. But those who were pessimistic or critical did not want the game to fail. Predicting something and wanting it are different things. We were called crazy and mocked constantly here by the other half but it seems we weren’t crazy for saying a game as expensive as this and as behind schedule as this and as slowly developing as this was on thin ice and worry was warranted.
  9. You always add to the discussion in such an eloquent way. And yes, annoying as the few nay sayers who remained may have been to some they only stood out because far, far more critical voices were chased off of the forums by rude and patronizing comments.
  10. It’s a double edged sword. I’m ok with some platforms having it and some not. There’s pros and cons to both sides. You get more hive mind but straight up rude comments are just auto buried.
  11. But the truths are that take two is shutting down an office is Seattle with approximately the same number of people as intercept games. And that they preannounced the cuts would hit private division, and the only known studio in Seattle for private division is IG. This is the first time closure rumors haven’t been immediately squashed.
  12. Dakota was online and commenting as this news was breaking on Discord. Whereas closure rumors have always been shutdown in the past this time he made no comment. that is quite telling.
  13. Yeah I’m holding my tongue until official confirmation, but there is for sure some criticism that I will be sharing if confirmed.
  14. Been a while since I’ve dived into KSP1. I’m just looking for a list of working mods as I’m not sure which ones were abandoned and aren’t compatible with the current version.
  15. It depends on how fleshed out the orbital and surface VAB programming is. Which yeah. Probably not worth it. Man this sucks. I guess that just boycotting Take Two (and a certain hype man with a history of not finishing his projects) is all that’s left. Maybe it’s time I try the colony mods and stuff on KSP1. I usually only ran visual and QOL.
  16. If this is confirmed this is the only way the community can make large publishers not make these sort of decisions. Show that breaking the trust has a real and lasting negative effect on the bottom line. If this is it I’m also never buying a Take Two game again.
  17. If there is an official confirmation, if the current plan is just ice the game (with or without refunds) I would absolutely help a community go fund me to at least get the source code so modders have an easier time finishing it.
  18. The speed of development killed this game. Why the development was so slow will probably be an unanswered question, did it have something to do studio change, was it because publishing pushed unrealistic expectations, were the devs unable to overcome the technical hurdles of this title, and so many other possibilities. I agree the social media platforms for KSP2 becoming ghost towns with the same 6 people commenting probably made it easier for TT to pull the plug on this game versus another one. But I think you put the cart before the horse. The forums/discord became ghost towns because of the development speed, that is the core reason. Plenty of games have a had a rough launch and came out ok, but they all had meaningful updates and significant new/revised content updates as well in the first year, unlike KSP2. *all of this is speculation. Still hoping we hear that somehow there’s another studio in Seattle or that development is being transferred to another studio.
  19. And the open jobs on intercepts website are now broken links. This is it. Best wishes to everyone at IG in their job hunts, i wish you all had the time to see this game through.
  20. If it’s a Private Division studio under Take Two, I don’t see how it’s not IG. They are the only studio on Private Divisions website in Seattle.
  21. This seems legit. I hope this is proven wrong/incorrect but this will be so sad. I hope all who are affected will be able to find work and provide for their families… For us fans, even critical ones like me, this isn’t how we wanted it to go and why we were so vocal we were trying to save this project that means so much to us.
