[WIP] [Alpha] Modular Mk2 Fuselages (25/10/15)
CitizenAerospace replied to Inqie's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Interesting idea, will wait to download it when it has a few more features. Like the concept, though. -
I love this mod so much. I haven't even touched career yet, been having way too much fun on Sandbox. After not playing KSP for 3+ months, I decided to give this mod a shot, as 64k didn't seem to be working for me... It's awesome! Combined with Atomic Age, Porkjet's habitat pack and SpaceY (and of course, Mechjeb), I've already set up a munar base and developed a line of 5m launch vehicles. My biggest one so far can launch 250t of pure payload into a 300km orbit, even when flying with the technical finesse of a puppy flying the space shuttle. With a bit of skill, you can launch 120t to Duna no problem. My mid-range launcher is my workhorse at the moment, it can deliver 100t to orbit, or 50t to munar orbit. But my favourite is the 5m 25t to orbit, reusable (SpaceX Style) SSTO. Best thing is, they all look pretty well proportioned to how much payload they carry. My 250t launcher is about the size of the Falcon Heavy, but if you were to make a rocket with the same lifting capacity in stock it would be a hell of a lot smaller. I don't know if it is just me or not, but I feel like with the new aerodynamics, this mod doesn't make the game a whole lot harder. DeltaV cost to orbit has gone up to 4800m/s compared to stock 3500m/s, but most people are use to 4500+ m/s to orbit from previous versions anyway. But the orbital distances definitely help make the game a lot more fun.

B-47 Stratojet [Function over form]
CitizenAerospace replied to andrew123's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The wings are just no... although very clever placing. Could you make one with tidier wings but with more fuel tanks/part clipped ones? -
Haha its all good, wasn't expecting it to...

Im guessing the latest version of FAR won't work with 0.9? I play a semi-realistic save (64k system, realfuels, all that good stuff) and none of my mods are updated for 1.0 yet, but I still want the new aerodynamic model on Far : (

Wow, I saw that plane, didn't realize it was that quick! I've found that size isn't really an issue (the jet engines can basically just power over drag no matter what the size), I've got a larger one that hits 1km/s a lot faster at sea level but I find smaller planes funnier to fly. As for the download, sure, here you go: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xhqmpxix7joqelx/Streak%201.craft?dl=0 Also, just found out that if you angle this thing right you can shoot the Ap. to 80km Yep, stock jets are insanely over powered.

This is the Streak; its a small, one seater plane that will go as fast as you want it to. I've tried to push its boundaries, but the only boundary I've found so far is overheating. However if you feel so inclined, you can switch of heating and get up to 1200m/s (Mach 3.5) at 1km. Despite it's entire design being based solely on speed, this plane doesn't sacrifice agility nor aesthetics to achieve its goal. This plane can easily pull off 15G+ turns, and no matter what your speed going this thing will still turn fast without breaking. If you don't mind me saying so, the lines look pretty smooth and the plane has a very polished look. Even the top airbrake blends seamlessly with the rest of the craft. She's got a lot more lift then you would think; you can glide comfortably below 40m/s without worries. If anyone's interested, I'll upload a craft file. For the mean time, enjoy the pictures and take my word for it when I say there is no magic involved.

SSTOs! Post your pictures here~
CitizenAerospace replied to KissSh0t's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I've had some problems with the clipping bug and a few other bugs with the heating recently... A probe core stack on top of my rocket with a parachute kept exploding every time I hit 1500m/s or so.... and I was 55km up!!! The rest of the rocket was fine, but the friggin probe kept puffing into nothing. Seems to be a few bugs with the heating system atm. -
Do you feel KSP is ready for 1.0?
CitizenAerospace replied to hoojiwana's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Hmm... I dont think they were quite ready yet to put this out as 1.0. It's not polished (at all), and I think there are at least 4 or 5 more major features they need to implement before they should of called it 1.0. Despite all that, KSP is still my favorite game of all time, and I still love Squad. Just wish they had of put this out as 0.91, and taken an extra 2 weeks to polish up all the little bits they needed to. -
Expandable exhaust effect
CitizenAerospace replied to zoranbrasnjo's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
...But the gigantic yellow funnel is what rocket exhaust looks like?! -
Part of the problem there is probably the heat shields... those things are probably producing bucket loads of drag!

Sentinel Heavy Industries Aerospace Division
CitizenAerospace replied to RayneCloud's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Looks great Will download when I unlike turbo's, looks like it has a pretty decent range with all that fuel... sounds good for knocking out multiple survey contracts at once. -
No worries, glad to help. Reading over that it I realize I sounded like a bit of a ...., sorry.

Cupcake's Dropship Dealership...
CitizenAerospace replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I have a really bad feeling that this is gonna wreck havoc for Cupcake... with the new aerodynamics, heating system, and the inability to spam intakes and use jets to get to 2.5km/s+, Cupcake might have to completely think his SSTO's, or ditch them completely and focus on the pure dropships. Hopefully not ._. -
