Kopernicus Core - Version NAN - Outdated
Nicholander replied to _Augustus_'s topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hmm... I'm trying to make a gas giant, and when I load up KSP, the gas giant doesn't load. This is the cfg file (It has no RSS file because it is a Jool based body) @Kopernicus { Body { name = GP2TempName flightGlobalsIndex = 2030 Template { name = Jool } Properties { description = A second gas (Ice) giant! radius = 3000000 mass = 2.1166317e+24 geeASL = 0.4 } Orbit { referenceBody = Sun color = 0.255,0.105,0.180,1 inclination = 1 eccentricity = 0.06 semiMajorAxis = 123792408576 longitudeOfAscendingNode = 0 argumentOfPeriapsis = 180 meanAnomalyAtEpoch = 0 epoch = 0 } ScaledVersion { Material { texture = Kopernicus/Textures/IceGiantMap } } } Is it because I removed the line about the normal map? (But, the gas giants in the Outer Planets Mod have no normal maps) Thanks in advance! -
As I was viewing through the images for the Outer Planets Mod, I noticed to large analog-like similarities to our Solar System (Well, I noticed that when I first discovered it, but you get the point), and it got me thinking: Should the KSP Kerbol System be like an analog to our IRL Solar System, or should it be more unique? Let's compare those 2 arguments: Analog: The planetary bodies are pretty similar to our own, Moho = Mercury, Eve = Venus, Kerbin = Earth, Duna = Mars, Dres = Ceres, Jool = Jupiter, Eeloo = Pluto. So why shouldn't it be more close to ours? Why not have the Outer Planets Mod incorporated into stock? Unique: There are some obvious differences between the Kerbol System and Our IRL one, it being 10x smaller, Kerbin having a 2nd moon, Eve having a moon, Duna having one relatively large moon instead of 2 small ones, etc. And also Jool being green, Laythe being completely unlike the other Galilean moons, and the list goes on an on. So, there's no reason to add some uniqueness to the Kerbol System, maybe the other planets should be like what NovaSilisko envisioned. So, discuss! (And vote in the poll)

Hello DavidBowman! This really shows how global this game is... It's just FANTASTIC!

Kopernicus Core - Version NAN - Outdated
Nicholander replied to _Augustus_'s topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Also, just a little question, how do you get the custom planets (I made at least) to not have there sunlight side 90 degrees off to what it is supposed to be? Look at this image: See? You can see Eeloo having a normal sunlight side, as it is a stock planet. But my moon (Berdim) has it's sunlight side 90 degrees off, from what looks like to the right. I don't see any other Kopernicus mods having this, so what's causing it? Thanks in advance for helping! -

Just a tiny little thing I noticed in the RealSolarSystem.cfg for this 1.4, it doesn't include my newly released Jastu from my Minor Bodies Mod. No biggie, my mod has a .cfg which includes that, but just saying. -
I see, okay. I made a little update, all it does is change Jastu's argument of periapsis to 240, making it easier to get too. Also, JID00Gaming, it's a ZIP file.

What is the version of KSP you owned when...
Nicholander replied to RAINCRAFTER's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Hmmm... First version I played: 0.10, though at the time I think 0.13 was out, I didn't download that 0.10 from Squad, I just Googled something like "KSP download". I don't remember when I did my first Mun landing, but I do remember that the first time I did a manned Duna and return mission was in 0.23.5. (BTW, this was in career mode, though now we'd call it science mode) -
I... I don't know. I just edited the new RealSolarSystem.cfg included in Kopernicus 1.3 to include Jastu, and that's all. So try it without modifying the cfg, and if it doesn't work, try it with modifying the cfg.

Yes, a body like Oblate would be fun to get to, but 20 little Joolian moons that are all pretty much the same is just plain boring, and is RAM intensive. But I may add 1 little moon, maybe like an asteroid moon that's 2 times closer to Jool than Laythe.

Here's the zip download: https://www./?k3j3rtro9v2raw2 Also, this is the .rar to .zip convertor I used, so you can download a .rar file, upload it to there, and then you get a .zip! Remember to fill out the input type and the output type, though. I'm thinking of expanding this mod to not just have minor bodies, but a new gas giant system too. Or maybe I'll just make another Kopernicus mod, but I'm not sure about this gas giant idea.
-
I've just finished 1.1, it's released! It adds a Near Kerbin Object asteroid, Jastu.
-
NKO? Good idea, I'll start work on that tomorrow! (Hopefully, provided I don't decide to be stupidly lazy)
-
Oh. Also, I can't really decide what I want the next body to be. I already have a texture, it's a small 140 km diameter asteroid from Space Engine, but I don't know what it should actuallybe. So here's my ideas: Small, asteroid moon of Jool, but It's closer, within the orbit of Laythe. Eccentric Moho crosser asteroid like Icarus. Large NKO asteroid, like Apophis. Kraun (Kuiper) Belt Object, like Eris or Makemake. Krojan (Trojan) asteroid near Jool. Dwarf planet 2 times closer to Kerbol than Moho. (Like Ablate) So, which one should I make?
-
Yeah, it is compatible with all (I think) Kopernicus Planet Packs.
-
HYPE HYPE HYPE!!!!!! When can we download this thing of awesomeness? (BTW perhaps you could include my comet Zem-Po, since comets are in SpaceEngine) (Zem-Po is in my Minor Bodies mod)

I had a weird dream about ksp last night...

I've never dreamed about KSP. But, you have given me a reason to install the Stella mod and make an interstellar probe, quasarrgames. -
Kerbal Stuff, an open-source Space Port replacement
Nicholander replied to SirCmpwn's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Hmm, I'm trying to upload a mod to Kerbal Stuff, but the progress bar at the bottom always freezes when I'm trying to upload it, usually at around halfway. Does it haft to use CKAN? Because I'm always unchecking the CKAN box. -
ZeroGravitas, I have this problem too, and I'm not using any visual mods. However, from the surface and low orbit, the sunlight is fine. I really wish I knew how to fix this. But still, thanks for the compliment!

You know... You can try to make one yourself. And it can be quick, such as I made the Minor Bodies Mod in less than a day! -

There's one in the base game, It's called Eve. -
MediaFire decided to actually work today, and a new version is up for download. It adds a new .cfg for if you're using OPM (Makes Berdim a moon of Plock), and fixed a few grammatical errors in the descriptions. The download here: https://www./?6m80jfucg1pugzh

By the way, could you remove Kerbol+ from the OP (I've stopped work on that) and replace it with Minor Bodies Mod? (With a link too!) Thanks in advance! -
Hmm... I'll try to do that tomorrow, but for now there's a download link, for those who haven't noticed. Here EDIT: For those who really can't wait until tomorrow, go into "Berdim.cfg" and change "referenceBody = Eeloo" to "referenceBody = Plock". You can also change the description to have the 2 times it says "Eeloo" changed to "Plock".
