I bought it at full price. I have not been disappointed. Frustrated several times, but I have achieved my money's worth.

Seeking suggestions to better my gameplay.
joekidd1992 replied to Random Hooded Stranger's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This is what I did. I built a successful craft that could get me to Minmus and land. And have enough to get back. So, now, whenever a Minmus contract comes up like plant a flag, I take it and increase my money. I'm probably not as efficient as others, but it makes me money. Also, I try and get two or three missions at a time to Minmus, thereby maximizing revenue. Combine missions, like "Science from around Kerbin" + "Plant Flag on Minmus". And you don''t have to actually get science from running the experiment. Even if you get 0 Science, running the experiment gets you the success. that being said, I have yet to leave Kerbin SOI except for one unmanned probe to Dune and Ike, and I am up to the 550 level of science and still going. -
I finally docked two ships together. I'm hoping this will open up a whole new bunch of adventures. Hmmm, now how do I get them down, lol. Just kidding. I'll send up some unmanned vehicles and get them, if needed.

What Is Your Biggest Accomplishment in KSP thus far?
joekidd1992 replied to TheOfficialStorm's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I just docked 2 vessels!!! I was using Mechjeb and it wasn't doing hardly anything I liked except I guess it got me within about 70 meters. Then after that, I just kept playing around, missed once and cursed a lot, then I got really, really close somehow, and then the gravity or like objects gravitate to one another and it locked up. -
Out of all curiosity.. Is KSP addictive in some way?
joekidd1992 replied to Columbia's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm sure it can be addictive on some levels, but I have been addicted to other games even more. -
Worsening KSP performance.

Inevitably when something explodes on reentry for me (like battery packs), the frame rate gets very very bad. -
What is the rationale behind playing completely stock?
joekidd1992 replied to falloutaddict's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Your post is what makes me want to use mods. I do think there's something missing in stock and it isn't all that fun trial and erroring your way everywhere. -
What is the rationale behind playing completely stock?
joekidd1992 replied to falloutaddict's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I play stock because I think it's a challenge. But, I've been thinking about trying a mod or two. I haven't played it enough to be bored with stock, yet, I guess, but having said this, I haven't played since about Sunday. -
is this ksp or flight simulator? More landing struts needed!
joekidd1992 replied to hobbez's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm torn between trying to figure it out myself or getting a mod or watching a youtube video. I'm smart enough to figure out how to get to Minmus and Mun, but further than that, I run into issues. -
Welcome back. I just returned as well.

What small mistakes did you make that ruined your mission?
joekidd1992 replied to syfyguy64's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I put drogue chutes on my capsule and of course it crashed. -
How Much Time Have You Spent Playing KSP?
joekidd1992 replied to SelectHalfling0's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Only about 177 hours. Not as much as many others. -
I've been putting Satellites into orbit per contract. Then I fly them back and land them at Kerbin. And also doing a little flag planting on Minmus.
-
I got an unmanned probe to Duna and I could not get it back. So that one is definitely me.
-
I've recently started using probes. Landed one on Duna. It's not coming back.

I don't think it would be bad if you get stuck to take a look at Scott Manley's tutorial. I'd wait until you're so stuck you're thinking about punching the screen. Then you can pick up a few pointers to push you along, but not spoil it all. Welcome.

I'm having trouble with Steam saying I'm not connected. Anyone else having this problem? Obviously, I'm connected to the internet.
-
Hey, Welcome aboard. Lots of good information here.
-
Doing better than me! Welcome!
-
I built a rocket with an atomic engine and used it to go to the Mun.
-
That's probably how long it would have taken me if I had not watched some youtube videos for some pointers. I purposely stayed away from landings because "I wanted to do it myself." I managed one Mun landing and return then about 1-12 more tries that were failures, before I finally watched a youtube tutorial on it and saw all my mistakes.

How did you start your KSP learning curve?
joekidd1992 replied to nobbers12345's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I saw it on steam and didn't put much thought into it. But I like to watch Let's Plays so I watched a youtube of a guy doing it and thought, hmmm, seems cool. And I went ahead and bought it. I sucked at first and looked at a youtube of someone orbiting. So, I knew that even though I watched someone else do it, that is different than actually doing it, so it was still hard to do. I managed an orbit, then managed an orbit around the Mun and Minimus, but I needed to watch youtube for pointers, purposely staying away from landings because I wanted to do it for myself. I did manage to land once on the Mun and come back, without watching how to do it. But, it was very hit and miss and did about 10-12 more tries before I finally watched a video on how to do it and realized all the mistakes I was making. I'm sort of on a break right now, but I plan on trying to get to Eve or Duna at some point. I have 3 I think astronauts in some kind of suspended orbits. Stranded. I'll eventually save them I guess.
