  1. Played career several times but this time around toying with the sandbox to have a little bit more fun while not having to do the science and contracts *again*
  2. Nearly finished my Mun Beta site wich will be used for rocket building with EL. Doing it this way sure isn`t the fastest or easiest, but it`s kind of fun doing it like this Still a ton to do befor moving on from a Mun base, but for once, not rushing into space gives a nice pace with colonizing the system. Hopefully ATM gets debugged soon to try adding TAC for base building
  3. Personally, 0.24 64x ran great and could cram 100 mods into it. 0.25 kept crashing and crashing and crashing. Removing half the mods it was still a random crash galore. 32x and ATM not working required some more trimming and reducing textures to 1/8th, while still running out of memory after switching a few times Just finished installing linux along side w7, and fixing windows loader... Still need to see how it runs on ubuntu 64x, or if the amd drivers work to start with... I keep seeing people state "just install linux", yeah. First you need to edit the windows partition and hope it doesn`t craps out, if you know how to do it to start with. Then you have to install linux, doing it the easy way by letting it create it`s own partitions, it will most likely whipe the windows partition (it`s even a confirmed "bug" again with the ubuntu installer). Thankfully, hating installers I always do it the manual way and having some expirience with linux servers it wasn`t that hard, but if you have no idea how to create and setup partitions in windows, you will be .... out of luck in linux. Creating "/", swap and home partitions I go to install it, great. *error* installer received error 2 and aborted, redo several times and get sent to the bug report that has 500 entries and no one has a clue... Try openSUSE, wich didn`t want to install, reburn my usb with ubunty and retry with more fails... Back to windows to watch a movie while my brain tries to fart. Half way the movie, a brainfart happend, "out of space" hmm... root - 5gig swap - 512mb home - 10 gig image - 981mb Swap partition? that would be a first... Redo the swap partition to 1.5gig and it installed fine, woohoo! After reboot it booted straight into ubuntu, where is that boot menu? Google, read through a couple of pages of bs and find a solution to fix the windows boot and add it to grub. Couple of shell commands later and windows was running again (posting with it now) So keep saying to people to just run linux next to their windows. Most people know what a partition is, most will be clueless if you ask them how to create or edit one, let alone where to find the tool to do it. Then ask them if they can do that in a less gui friendly way nd know how to setup the linux partitions (I bet you`ll laugh it they nuked their windows install if they managed to get this far). Then when they complain that it nuked their windows boot, will you help them or just laugh with your brilliant advise of running dual boot or shut up? Alot of pc`s come with oem windows, will you help them to install all their hardware drivers? will you even bother thinking of helping when it has to be installed from a shell?? Telling them to type commands to run their OS will put them off befor they even think it`s a viable solution for them to try. I never used dual boot and always had a little server hidden in a corner to play with web stuff. Running a game I would need my own pc hardware and with ksp being addictive at times with, an absolute FUBAR 64bit release forced me to attempt it due to the awsomeness of ksp in 64bit. Now some will come on the defense that it supports alot of hardware and I agree, but with my old trusty Rampage 4 Extreme motherboard being out for quite awhile, it didn`t even find my soundcard... Revert back to 0.24??? All I`ll say is: Steam KSP faq: Grrr! So there you have it, dual boot for most people here is simply impossible unless it`s done with some one sitting next to them in the same room helping and teaching them the basics.
  4. Maybe that`s just the new bugged texture loading issue in 0.25 having a fart, almost solved, so what ever works
  5. Latest update and the compact&pad2 have their textures applied, runway still remains white, wich I won`t use anyway
  6. Just got to the stage of setting up the launch pads, but for some reason my launch pads are white as the textures aren`t being applied. Error: Single error per attachement in the vab, not using ATM either. Is there a way without to much trouble to see what path it tries to load the texture from?
  7. Extending the Mun base building with an extraplanetary launchpad base in the crater, habitat area so that less kerbals die with mishabs, pick a challanging overlook spot to plant my comms building and rebuilt a truck for easier moving base modules as a signle large crane is unstable for dragging stuff around. Extra fun, it runs on Karbonite with 2 small nuclear generators to kickstart the main reactor, yup, it needs gas every few hours of use or get stranded
  8. 0.25 and auto update in steam nuked my old games, time for sandboxing as science is getting old after a couple of times Started building a Minmus Karbonite base, but after even a 32t truck bouncing around like it`s nothing, it became a Mun base. Idea #1 was to have a truck be able to mine and move to a base/build a base around the truck after finding a nice rich&flat position. Toppling the truck lifter, twice, and toppling my orbital drop ship after bringing the first storage tank down it was time for a small design change. I love IR&KAS. Karbonite might feel abit of a cheat, but would be fun to try and build a base for that and tow an astroid into Mun orbit as launch stage.

  10. I know, but some have a small speed/altitude window so using a plain and decouplers is great. Did with the T10 srb or something, stuck it ontop of a ssto and douple with shutes. Just trying to provide people with alternate solution then rocket headache Actually getting tired of contracts and switching my saves back to science... go to Mun and plant a flag, done, play with other ones and go back to Mun and plant a flag...or rescue a kerbal for the 3rd time :/
  11. While running out of fund for my SSTO program, I decided to finish up some simpler contracts I`ve had lying around. Seeing some ask for how to do some annoying contracts regarding speed and altitude, here`s my solution to hopefully help you start thinking abit out of the box Small plane, using tweakscale I shrunk the decoupler and girder and put the mk16 shute on to it. This will allow you to fly to the required altitude, run the test and if you don`t care about losing the shute, decouple it so you can land easilly. This can also be done with boosters, decouple after the test and add shutes to it so you can land safely This is with FAR.
  12. Nice work Maichin After 5 days I was still playing with rockets, or better said, blowing up rockets then thinking of building a station
  13. That would be awsome I tried it with a fresh install of 24.2 without mods, both in 32 and 64 bits, neither worked so I`m rather curious why they won`t work while they are fine for you, anyone else having issues?
  14. Don`t have enough parts yet to dubble with vtol`s yet, still have my minmus contract that I want to do with my satt ssto refitted for science to get better at it 11 hours&+29gb of footage and haven`t left orbit with that disaster
  15. The biggest beef I had with the plug is the lack of info, besides if you want it to auto update. Not who created and maintained it, link back to the forum post and a statement it`s "Mod Statistic" and is bundled with another mod. That is the issue that got me abit fedup from the start.
  16. I find it rather refreshing as in my previous career I could launch the biggest disasters. I never built or used SSTO`s because a rocket was 100 times simpler and you could send 100 times more mass into space, this time around I`m still in early career and switched to, attempting, to use 2 SSTO`s to reduce costs [crew&satt] Going to other planets isn`t a simple "strap on 100 boosters" but requires some planning so that you don`t lose all your funding. Unless using the fail cheat and return home a millionaire
  17. Going to test it tomorrow as my simple ssto`s that is ballanced near perfect but just keeps disintegrate even with a shallow re-entry at with PE at 38km to slow down over half the planet lol Will be happy if it works out as a medium FAR and NEAR
  18. Stupid question as I was attempting to modify the 6403 truck&trailer for use with infernal robotics on the Mun and Minmus. Are these made in 23/23.5? cause 24.2 is going nuts when changing back to any version you are sharing here Hopefully some one will have an idea how to fix it for 24.* as it`s base parts, as they are looking even better ingame Actually wonder if welding it will work...
  19. They look great! Going to attempt to put them to good use
  20. Want some more and remove some because of conflicts traced back to crashes and others haven`t been updated yet Mem is hanging between 7-8gb and when building something stupid, it climbs towards the 9gig
  21. Building a simple SSTO so that we can bring crew up&down for our future space hub in LKO. Few glitches posponed the creation and SSTO #2 didn`t go exactly super... Wanted to start playing with music editing, but after all the problems it was wiser to keep annoyance to my self. Hit your fav tunes again SSTO #2 will be awhile, 13 recording and 22.9gb of disasters to go through. This is showing how easy FAR is, next version will show what a *bleep* FAR is xD Thanks for enduring & untill next time! [if you see no pic, it`s just uploaded]
  22. Got so many :/ Have a look if you like one of them: https://ksiml.imgur.com/all/
  23. Finish building a simple SSTO that gave me a 2 day headache with FAR re-entry in 13 recording totalling 22.9gb and 8 hours 42 minutes and 30 seconds Finish a speedbuild of a simple ssto for my crappy log.
  24. When you mess around and return from the Mun without paying attention, doing an aerobreaking around Kerbin and endup lined up with ksc both inclination and deorbit point! Or simply have all the luck in the universe and that it got recorded for future generations...
