  1. A joystick made KSP much more playable for me. ("top hat" switch for retros, joystick for gyros/aero) made docking easier! But that was beta. I haven't tried to it set up the the new one. (took hours to set up, because the settings are at the beginning of the game, you have to set it up, launch the game, try it, quit out, make changes, launch the game, try it, quit out, make changes, launch the game, try it, quit out, make changes...) are there issues in 1.0? Edit: I'll try later today, and post my results.
  2. To answer my own question for posterity: In the wiki each part has a changelog. (more clicking than I wanted, but there's the info I was looking for.
  3. sooo many changes since my beta build.... nukes now weigh 3 tons not 2.5, and don't use oxygen? ( I like to assume they used it as coolant) but only provide 60 thrust? (its proportional, but ruins my tug designs) my SSTO LFO rocket, now can't get off the pad. So is there a guide someplace so I can catch up?
  4. IRL: all spaceships heat up in the sun, unless they rotate or have radiators.
  5. NP with the necro. ppl still ask this question. and I'm planning an update to this soon (I have improvements!)
  6. wings are on upsidedown? EDIT: On the 2nd one I mean. Also those Mk2 fusalages have lift, art they upside down?
  7. I'm for 45 degree doors! having the doors at 90 angles means ladders and retroblocks are always in each others way.
  8. oh, ok! As soon as I saw fire, I thought I was too fast too low and was trying to slow down and climb. That explains it. - - - Updated - - - I'm not thinking that. I'm trying to learn the differences. (oddly the new seems more intuitive to me so far, scary flame effects notwithstanding)
  9. The white effect? That's a boost? I thought it represented some kind of buffeting to be avoided. I was trying to slow down and climb when that happened.
  10. I thought I could figure as the new aerodynamics by myself, it turns out, not so much. I think my vehicle has plenty of thrust and fuel. Maybe I just need help with my flight profile: It used to be: 500m/s at 15km would be the right set up for 1km/s at 20km, from there, it was a matter of air hogging and for as long as you could, and switching to LFO engines was as late as possible. It used to be: if you were burning atmosphere on the way up you’re doing something wrong. Now it seems that I am burning atmosphere at 800 m/s at 23 km. What’s up? Does the plane have too much drag?
  11. Is there a file I can copy from one copy of KSP to another to move the joystick configuration? (BTW: from version 0.25 to the current build)
  12. This is "Sofa King" good. It's why there are no cities or roads or farms. Its why they never go out. Its why they wear spacesuits outside (to protect them from the sun)
  13. Brilliant! (that should be canon) - - - Updated - - - Rick Perry? Is that you? - - - Updated - - - Assume "mold" not "plant" and they live in the dark.
  14. I do that. It works. Doesn't look like they are close enough.
  15. I always arm my rovers with huge amounts of SAS. That's what keeps them upright at high speeds in low G.
  16. I always put a probe core in my rovers facing forward. (you can even clip it into a headlight) then "control from here" and the navball works - - - Updated - - - edit Ninja'd
  17. Yep, root part not CoM. CoM made (a little) sense. RootPart makes no sense at all. SQUAD, pls fix this. EDIT: most of my ships start with a big central fuel tank. So for me CoM is often root part.
  18. yeah, we would imagine it should be a line perpendicular to the "Control from here" port. but without the CoM as part of the equation, the ship would be very counter-intuitive in terms of steering. you could point at target, but trying to move toward it you would be unbalanced. This method is more accurate for approaching the target, but becomes inaccurate as you get close
  19. I posted a similar question once and was told it was the CoM
