Anyone else having trouble getting the staging icons to appear? No matter what I do they just don't get put in the staging list. I can't right click to decouple manually either (not sure if that's a thing in this but it should be) so the whole addon has become useless for me. Any ideas how to fix this?

It's good to see a tutorial with the more fuel efficient method. Most tutorials have you stop relative velocity at your closest approach and aim straight at the target for another burn, but that's just wasting momentum you already had. I say teach them right the first time.

Why not just share a text list of the mods your using rather than the mods themselves? Let them go find and install them on their own. You can even share the links. That's generally a good idea even if you are using a permissive licensed mod because of updates.

You sure about that? There are plenty of names in the name generator that have nothing to do with KSP or real space travel (for argument purposes I'm considering youtubers and people who submitted logos as having something to do with KSP). Unstable doesn't mean it won't run. It means it may not run on all computers/hardware configurations and even if it does run there may be smaller issues (such as the decoupler force bug which may or may not have been fixed in 24.1)

Yeah but that wouldn't be an improvement to the game. There is already enough sit around and wait in this game, waiting on optimal launch conditions would just be irritating.

I chose none of the above. I try to minimize the pollution where possible by design but if I'm not afraid to dump an empty stage now and again when it suits my mission.

KSP caused me to learn about things related to our own space programs that aren't even related to KSP. I saw the movie "Independence Day" on TV the other day. It opens with a shot of the supposed Apollo 11 landing site (proven by the plaque with the appropriate names on it also shown). I've seen that movie dozens of times but this time I noticed the flag wasn't on the ground. After starting KSP I started reading all about the Apollo program and through that research I read the story of the first flag on the moon and how the LEM knocked it over.

Yes, there is a docking mode which causes the staging button (space bar default) to switch between translation and rotation. It's one of the little buttons down on the lower left. This has a problem of accidental staging if you don't switch it an think you have though. This is just personal opinion, but you should train yourself to use IJKL. Really once you have the rotation lined up, you don't need WSAD at all, so you can move your left hand over.

More accurately Spaceplane is a broad classification and "rocket glider" is a more specific type of Spaceplane which all existing real world spaceplanes happen to be. It's kind of like saying "Motor Vehicle" vs. "Truck"... a truck IS a motor vehicle.
