[KSP v1.1.3] Stock Bug Fix Modules (Release v1.1.3b.1 - 10 Jul 16)
LordFerret replied to Claw's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
My question is: do I still include the Bug Fix Modules in v1.0.5 for the time being ... or should I run without it? What would you suggest, Claw? -
If you knew the history of Veterans Day, its significance, you'd realize that while it is an American holiday, it really isn't - it's a global holiday, a commemoration of the end of World War I ("the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month").

Thank you.

I had SimAnt, and a game called "It Came From The Desert" based on a classic old movie. So... how about 'Slug Simulator'? lol
-
How or what did you make that with? It reminds me of a type of 'splatter painting', kind of like an airbrush effect. Pretty cool.

I posted about this just a few days ago... http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/29533-What-did-you-do-in-KSP-today?p=2263604&viewfull=1#post2263604

Can kerbal steps be converted to km around kerbals home planet ?
LordFerret replied to roarke's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've put a Kerbal or two on some very long walks in the past. I find the weight of a AA battery standing upright on the W key on my laptop works just fine in place of my finger. Edit: Now you've got me wondering how long it would take a Kerbal to swim across the ocean, starting from the beach at KSC and heading east to the far shore. -
This one is good for a chuckle over your coffee and biscuits. The morning news is better than the comedy channel. [h=1]'Baby bear' spotted on Mars; UN to be alerted[/h]

If you happen to be in London at the moment....
LordFerret replied to Infinitas's topic in The Lounge
Wow. I knew they sent dogs and other animals, I didn't know they designed ejector seats for them. Very cool. -
Very cool! Thank you for sharing your pictures.
-
Thanks to KSP, I now look at all such pictures wondering "Where could I set a lander down?". lajoswinkler, could you add something in there to indicate scale (meters/kilometers)?
-
I'm sitting here laughing because ya'll are beating me on the head about this. I didn't find the object. I didn't speculate anything about the object. All I did was report on the news and commentary given. If you have questions about it, you can do what I did - search the web and look for the sources. Have a nice day. Again; Anybody living in southern India or in Sri Lanka, if you do get a chance to see it - it would be cool if you could get some pictures or video.

The Anomaly? Actually, no, it doesn't ... its base is wider than its top.
-
From the article I posted - "It could be a spent rocket stage or panelling shed by a recent Moon mission." Three other articles I read online about it pretty much made the same inference. ...which is why I said that. I'm inclined to agree with you however.
-
Hummm... it must be a day for glitches. I was up on Minmus, rovering on over to its one Anomaly, when I encountered this... It's a tear in surface of Minmus (and "It's full of stars!" ), and it's nearly impossible to bridge/jump. I had to detour quite a way down the hillside before it became level enough where I could manage the rover to hop over it. This tear goes on and on for kilometers! I did, finally, make it to the Anomaly though.

I tend to agree with the pessimistic views on weather accuracy... the day before might be the time for an educated guess. I also find it interesting how much of the information on this 'object' is speculation: its size, its mass, even its orbit (history) is questionable - they've lost track of it at least twice. Those tracking it, in allegedly knowing its approximate size, how and why would they come up with a guess it being a spent Saturn booster and announce as such? To me it seems pretty clear - they don't have a clue what it is, and we'll likely not know until the very last minute lol.
-
The two things are not related... you should have made a distinction about that in your post. One is about a celestial alignment, the other about a passing asteroid. I was going to post about this (2015 TB145), but I figured it would be all over the news considering it would happen on Halloween.

No, not the foul slang you're all familiar with. ... is the nickname for WT1190F, an unknown object, a NEO, which is due to enter Earth's atmosphere on November 13 2015. Providing it doesn't burn up in the atmosphere, it may impact Earth, landing in the ocean south of Sri Lanka. Current speculation seems to be that they think it's an old Saturn booster stage (used to send men to the moon)... but truth is they have no idea what it is (yet). More info - http://www.nature.com/news/incoming-space-junk-a-scientific-opportunity-1.18642 Any KSP'er who lives in Sri Lanka or southern India, you might have a unique opportunity to witness this thing's reentry into the atmosphere. EDIT: Apparently the word filter didn't like the nickname so it got censured. To figure out what it was, remove the "1190" from the title name.

Can you really just call the ISS?
LordFerret replied to Glaran K'erman's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Every once in a while they do a ham contact day thingie, or something like that. Those who make contact get a QSL card from the ISS. My dad (RIP) got one. If you keep an eye on the ARRL events, you might find a date/time for the next one (if and when they have it and ARRL has the information to post). As a matter of fact, it looks like you just missed the window for the current one. http://www.arrl.org/amateur-radio-on-the-international-space-station -
Well, based on this discussion, I'll not bother to submit the crash report. I'll just wait for 1.0.5 and Unity 5 and see how all that works out. The only reason I asked the question is because I so very rarely see the game actually crash ... I was so surprised to see the "Oops!" notification box pop up. Thanks for the input.

The Wiki page on Ike mentioned such spots, and not being able to see or tell day from night without looking up at the sky. I've not been to one yet. Sounds like fun. If you want to egg hunt, I'll suggest SCANsat; It shows where all the anomalies are, but doesn't tell you what they are - it's up to you to go and find out. If you bring the BTDT scanner ("Been There Done That") along with you, it will label them on the map for future reference.

I have a small utility which I wrote in QB64 (QuickBasic) which blows through the output_log file looking for NREs (and other issues), and I run it every time I'm finished playing. My NRE count has been minimal for quite a while now, only one persistent which is related to Unity apparently ... although I now do see another even after last night's crash (I went back in) which is related to the KAC mod. The crash itself occurred during a scene change, right after the current scene unloaded, before the new scene loaded; That much is shown in the persistent file. UnloadTime: 18.091900 ms Crash!!! If it is a memory leak related thing, then I'll have to assume it's related to KAC as that's my most recent mod (how did I survive so long without it??? lol). You say submit to the UnModded?... but I'm using mods. It should go into the Modded section, no?

Ah!... I see it now. Yes; That's Mun Arch #2. I was just there a few days ago. I landed in the crater, EVA jet-packed up to it, climbed it, and then took a leap off and jet-packed back to the lander. Weird thing about it was that when I climbed it, nearing the top, my pilot kind of went into the rock of the arch, and when he came out up on the top he was invisible (no 'skin') ... I had to switch to the lander and then back to the pilot for his 'skin' to appear again.

I rarely ever get crashes... in fact, I think this is my 3rd. (?) Anyway, KSP crashed on me tonight during a 'Switch To' vessel change. The logs indicate it was Unity which punted (mono.dll caused an Access Violation). So, I'm wondering: Being v1.0.5 is around the corner, and Unity 5 is somewhere along that line as well, should I bother Squad with a Crash Report?
