  1. I find his audible mouse clicks highly annoying. I'll agree with Elthy above ^ This video has the guy making a lot of comments about "I don't know what this is/does", which should have alarm bells ringing in your head. He turns off system event collection and logging... not a swift idea. And unless you know what you're doing (which it seems to me he doesn't), messing with your swap file is not a smart move either... incorrect swap file settings can actually slow your system down, among other problems. The one thing I do agree with is keeping ones drivers up to date. Most people will find that, even with a brand new computer, there are driver updates for nearly all hardware on your machine.
  2. For those of you interested and in the area, this might be worth attending (not a free event) - "The New Mexico Museum of Space History is pleased to announce that Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot Al Worden will be the Keynote Speaker at the Induction 2015 Gala Banquet and Ceremony on Saturday Oct. 3." - http://krwg.org/post/apollo-15-astronaut-al-worden-speak-induction-ceremony#stream/0
  3. ...that you can tune a piano, but you can't tuna fish.
  4. I think you should put a ragepost up just for DuoDex. Besides, once he sees your 'bump' ..... lol
  5. How about "KSP+"? Really, more parts than KSP? Not to be sarcastic or anything, but you'll need more information than those few lines you threw together on that page... how about some screenshots or even concept artwork? That would go a long way.
  6. It's pretty simple. Download the ISO file and burn it to a DVD. Then, when you're ready to use it, boot from the DVD. It doesn't change your computer any, it won't overwrite anything, you're just booting into AV Linux from the DVD. Granted, it would run faster if you installed it (as Starwhip mentions, on another computer or as dual-boot), but there are worse things in life to deal with. After it boots and the desktop opens, you'll be running Linux, you'll have access to all the software/tools AV Linux offers... and it will see your HD, you just access your data on your HD. Anything you create/modify, you'll save it back to your HD. When you're done you just logout (remove the DVD), and your computer will reboot back into your original OS. It's worth checking out, there's some great tools there.
  7. Why? Just burn it to a DVD and boot with it when you want it ... that's what I do.
  8. You should take a look at AV Linux, all that - and more... and LMMS is there as well.
  9. This past Friday, Google silently slipped this into your search results... Google Now Offers Twitter Integration in its Search Results Now I'm looking for a way to defeat it / turn it off.
  10. Well, there's Space Roo 1 ... does that count? If you ask me, I think it's very Kerbalesk. I found him here by the way.
  11. Saw the shadow, but wasn't going to assume.
  12. It says 'selfie' ... but what is taking the picture? I don't see any outstretched arm from the rover. And it's sitting on a little hill; Whatever is taking the picture is standing on what appears to be a pretty steep slope. So, tell me a little more about this shot.
  13. Here along the shore in NJ, planes fly back and forth dragging advertising banners... all. day. long. So, yea.
  14. What the hell is a Pocari? And why would I want to drink its sweat?
  15. Yep... Microsoft... inventing new and better ways to control you and what you do. Wait until internet governance really steps up, and you find yourself shut down for the day because you've spent your daily allotment of time playing KSP (or whatever) already. It's coming. The framework for it is already in place... it was given away this past year to the UN, and the UN will control it. It will roll out a little bit at a time. Of course, we can't discuss it here... politics and all that ya know.
  16. Was going to mention the same. lol My cat was my defender. Like, late at night, sleeping in bed, she'd pounce on me ... I'd be like 'WTH?!?' ... she was after the spider dangling down from the ceiling, heading for me. (Good Girl!!!)
  17. I don't care for the Orbweavers; We have a lot of them here and they get very big (they also bite, but they're not venomous)... nothing worse than walking face-first into a giant Orbweaver web at night. While I was serving in the military, I was bitten on the back of the leg by some unknown spider, which put me in the infirmary/hospital for 2 weeks with a parasitic blood infection. Not fun. http://www.spiders.us/species/filter/new-jersey/
  18. Had a cat, a Maine Coon, she was with me a long time ... she passed just a little over a year ago. Back in the 80's I used to keep ferrets, I had 8 of them; Hence, my name. In my youth I had 2 dogs and a number of other cats. One of the dogs (my first), a good mutt, lived 18 years... she was my sailing partner, a sea dog for sure. I miss all my pets. I have none currently. All of my pets were rescues. People tend to think ferrets are like cats; They aren't, they need more/special care... too many people buy them, learn what's involved, and then dump them. If you want to set me off - abuse an animal in front of me.
  19. I don't get frustrated with things ... I get frustrated with people. One you can work on and change and make better or get rid of, the other .....
  20. It's not so much that it's wasting bandwidth (although it is, depending on how you view it), but it's the time and resources spent loading those pages background - it's chewing up some of the available bandwidth which interferes with the content I sought for to load. To me, that is a waste and unnecessary.
  21. This came to my attention this morning. Worth a read, and the tweak (for some of you). [h=1]Firefox stealthily loads webpages when you hover over links -- here's how to stop it[/h]
  22. I've only seen them during launch (the puff balls), they appear for me right about the time the ship goes supersonic (>300m/s). Other than that, I've never seen them ... you guys must be trying to perpetrate a hoax. lol
  23. You're still getting the rep for it.
