Serious answer to the stutter issue.
SessoSaidSo replied to SessoSaidSo's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The issue is the GC. No dev has ever commented on this issue. You all misunderstand. I am not looking for a community sourced fixed. I am looking for a dev comment on this issue. The problem is unity not ksp, however, now that the game is full release that is no longer a proper response. -

I disagree...you took your time to doubt what I am experiencing. I took my time to doubt what you say. -

Because, this is an issue that affects a not insignificant portion of the community and whenever someone brings this problem up they are treated with suspicion. Always asked what your computer specs are otlr what mods are being used and no one ever has an answer and this problem is ignored. I firmly believe that people who say they dont experience this issue are l being less than honest. Every video on youtube shows this bug. Back when this game was alpha and beta it was understandable, however, this game is full release and now it has become unacceptable. -

This is not a spec issue. GTX 980 i7-5820k 16GB DDR4 Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard Running off of a Samsung 850 Pro 512gb SSD Not a spec issue. I run at solid 60fps in VAB on Samsung 4k monitor. But it still stutters regardless of resolution. I'm not messing around here. -
I have been having this issue since I started playing two years ago. I know everyone has this issue. Every video you watch you can see this problem. The answer is always the same...oh, it's unity, it's the GC. But, I mean c'mon now, this is full release and there is a glaring issue that has been present from the start and no one wants to openly talk about it on this forum as it is always pushed down the line. I swear it is as though people are willfully ignoring it. I would really, really like a comment from the team about this, I don't even care if it just them saying they can't do anything about it. I simply would like an official something regarding this issue because it is real and it is hurting. I'm sorry if this is a rant, but after two years and 1900 hours (check my steam - http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197993864598/recommended/220200 - I am legit) I think I am entitled to one hell of an opinion. Thanks

Is there any solid means of preventing the flipping of the rocket besides attaching fins? I have tried active RCS assistance and still all I get is flips. I understand the problem very well, however, it seems that the only way to launch anything is to make it look like its from the 1950's. I am starting to just slowly launch straight up.

parts [1.10.x] SDHI Service Module System (V4.0.4 / 11 October 2020)
SessoSaidSo replied to sumghai's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
as a heads up microsoft will be offering free upgrades to windows 10 for anyone with a win 7 or win 8 pc. The upgrade works the same as the win 8 to win 8.1. I work at tigerdirect and i get that alot from business clients right now. So dont let waiting for won 10 stop you from doing what you want. -

[1.2.2] Stock Part Revamp, Update 1.9.6. Released Source Files!
SessoSaidSo replied to Ven's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Okay sorry if this is dumb...But what is the reason why this mod changes the aerodynamic qualities of aircraft. I mean flying the stock craft and swapping between this mod and stock is almost like night and day. -
I just tested this tonight. I built a brand new rig (I'm not rich, I just work at Tigerdirect), it was pretty low tech being an A10-7850k with 4GB of ram on a 128 Corsair GS. I loaded what is essentially a copy paste of my modded Kerbal game data file. Of course the game was quite laggy but I did not experience the massive and noticeable freezes. The issue happens with both SSD's of all types and HDD's so I think it narrows that out. I have had the issue on win 7 home/pro and windows 8.1 home/pro. The amount of ram seems to be a non-issue. This really narrows iut down to CPU, GPU, or MOBO. Caught this on tape! - proof of the Freeze!

I figured it out. There is actually a file in the download that has the textures. Unfortunately, when the texture is added, the part becomes nonfunctional.

In terms of background processes nothing else is running. Kerbal runs on an SSD separate from any other activity. I have run it on both a samsung 840 evo and a samsung 850 pro with the same results. I have no HDD to check... I will get this stuttering in the VAB without placing a SINGLE part. Honestly I've been playing Kerbal for about a year and a half and ever since like 23.5 I've been having this issue and it makes the game physiologically uncomfortable to play.

In both vanilla installs and modded installs I encounter a constant and steady freezing for a fraction of a second every 5 to 7 seconds or so. It has become quite an annoyance as it also occurs on the VAB which makes assembly a task rather than a treat. I might also add that over time the freezes tend to give me a headache. I am running a i5-4670k with a GTX 980 I use both standard launch and I also use OpenGL. I am constantly experiencing this. Is there a solution?

With 0.25 now out you can emulate environmental damage by causing the whole ksc to blow up if using the orion engine too closely...personally I could see myself loading this into the sea dragon...ignite the orion 20k up or so. I demand daily updates! -
Playing 0.25. I am running a reference gtx 980 with an i5-4670k. Running in opengl with atm I can report a solid 1gb reduction in ram usage along with noticable fps increase as well as a general feeling of "smoothness". I can confirm AA is disabled and must be enabled via nvidia control panel.

Status?! Please !? -
I'm running Kerbal with a gtx 780 ti, i5-4670k and installed onto an SSD. I am running with a moderate level of mods including the latest KW and KSO (with ATM, I'm at about 1,900mb). I am running at half texture resolution. I am getting this constant freeze in my frame rate. Sound is not interrupted only visual. This is also occurring in the VAB when I am assembling very large 3.75m or 5.0m boosters. Neither my cpu or gpu is being run at load so there is no hardware issue. I am wondering if others are experiencing this same issue and how they deal with it or if there is a secret key I am missing. I have a haunting suspicion it is KW or KSO, however, when I remove them the problem still occurs, perhaps I am just a conspiracy nut. I think this is weird because I can run games like metro on max without batting an eye.

Will the next release also include the command pod retexture from your squad pack? And if not have you been considering it?
