  1. I have 6GB system RAM and 2GB of video DDR3 memory.
  2. Hello, I haven't been able to play KSP recently because it would keep crashing every time I tried launching it! Running in OPenGL mode, Installed mods: EVE Astronomers Visual pack V2 Docking Port Alignment indicator Kerbal Engineer This is the crash folder: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qz79himjmkncla4/AACZDn3oyzTXAhx3vzOY_P1Pa?dl=0 Thank you!
  3. I recently stumbled upon this video, which is about the great space anime, Planetes, and what surprised me is that it was narrated by Scott Manley! Later on he mentions that he does this kind of thing all the time. I do recommend watching this video, it shines a lot of light into the effort of making the anime. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend watching it, even if you're not a particular anime fan. It shows spaceflight very realistically and has a great plot and believable characters. ~
  4. Oh, ugh, blame autocorrect for this...
  5. So far, the book became very intriguing. What I like most is that there is close to no narration. The author managed to make someone/something else tell the story so far, and the rest of the info comes from people. It is amazing how detailed this book is, especially since it is a fictional 25th century ship.
  6. Has anyone ever read the book? I just started reading it because I heard about it from Gizmodo about being important for someone concerned about manliness future in space. In short: it is a story of a human generation ship travelling to Tau Ceti and adapting to the alien environment.
  7. www.space.com still forces flash on me...
  8. I'm surprised how the pilot managed to pull the wrong lever at the wrong time. How exactly do you confuse the control stick with the feather release handle? Very strange, but that's what happened judging from the video they released.
  9. The creator of the Manga actually wanted them to be completely different from Gundam robots, since they were meant to be almost human creatures genetically, so he aimed for rounder, more curved shapes. The armor is for the purpose of armor and keeping the thing under control. They are much more realistic than Gundams which apparently have unlimited fuel and flying capabilities. The 1st EVA's didn't even have an S²engine and needed a power cord basically which is probably also symbolically since they were not yet ready to act on their own and we're still underdeveloped children.
  10. thank god the Progress went without a hitch! We had way to many bad launches already.
  11. I knew something was fishy, first time in a while SpaceX launched on first try, without delays, and also carrying heaviest trunk payload yet. If Nova's theory proves to be correct, they can out all the blame on the adapter and not on the rocket itself.
  12. It was a sad year for space flight for sure, but it's not the end of the world. SpaceX will recover, and now that the problem Weill be exposed, future Fslcon flights will be much safer.
  13. A thread on space Engine already exists. Reporting, next time look for existing bread instead of creating a new one.
  14. Ill have to admit it too. I couldn't care less. Don't think Microsoft has any interest in how much I will use Excel or anything like that. Most big companies do have similar TOS, and no one is complaining much about that. Also, funny how I also have an even nerdier than me Linux friend
  15. Really nice! Though it reminds me of something...
  16. A little sketch I made honoring the Buran and Mir. Equipment used: iPad mini, Intuos Creative Stylus 2
  17. i want it! Love Space Engine, but want to give this one a whirl too.
  18. Sure, I understand why people hate on Gravity and Interstellar, but that is mostly because of your bias. Gravity was the first Hollywood movie to come so close to depicting space as it really is, and all you do is instantly bash on it? Not very smart on your part. Same with Interstellar. Find me another movie like that which handled wormholes and black holes as realistically as it did. Oh wait, you won't. It really hurts when people don't appreciate all of the time and effort the director put into researching all of this just for you, and you are still unhappy. You can't be so selfish as to think all of the other millions of movie goers would enjoy watching complex orbital maneuvers as opposed to a quick point-and-burn for the convenience of the plot. I have to say, it is fun nitpicking like that, but don't put a movie down just because of those few inaccuracies. You overwhelm yourself with them so much you completely forget about the plot of the movie, as well as the acting. If I were to start nitpicking how inaccurate Star Trek was I'd be bashed to death, right? So please, don't bash too much thank you. The movie hasn't even been released yet and this already started Personally loved the book, I wonder how they'll cram all of it into one movie, maybe 2 parts jk
