  1. So we don't need water resupply on Venus! We have both oxygen and hydrogen readily available, along with nitrogen. A Venusian colony can be every bit as self-sufficient as a Mars one, with added benefits such as better radiation protection, more concentrated solar power, and more Earthlike gravity!
  2. It has a 1.875-2.5m service module. The Titan rockets are all about 3m in diameter, which scales to 2.5m...
  3. Good idea! Plutonium RTG's on probes always last way longer than they're needed to, anyway. If the Uranus Orbiter can't use the last 1 or 2 MMRTG's then it should just have strontium or americium ones.
  4. I hope that I can go to London before the exhibit closes, as that stuff usually sits in the Energia museum (Which literally doesn't even have plastic casing around the Vostok 1 capsule...), and that museum is pretty crappy and not worth going to Moscow for. Also LK-3 was not proposed, it was going to be flown with cosmonauts but all 4 N1 flights failed and the L3 program was mothballed.
  5. Yes, but the atmosphere is thick enough for a brick thrown by a human to fly. This means that blimps don't even need helium, they can just be used as oxygen and CO2 storage. And a colony? It's not as hard as it sounds. You don't need anything more than firefighting gear to protect you in the upper atmosphere. Oxygen can be made from the CO2 in Venus' atmosphere. Even fuel can be made from the CO2 and small amounts of nitrogen in the atmosphere. Basically, the only thing you need on Venus that isn't available is hydrogen/water. But that could be solved by an orbital space station that brings in water shipments from interplanetary tankers and loads them into Skylons with parafoils that glide to and land on platforms.
  6. October 1 release?YES! I WILL LAND ON ARES AFTER I WATCH THE MARTIAN!
  7. Did you see what the Monkey Business guy did?http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/111669-1-0-4-Monkey-Business-Inc-(ispeditor-partmod) You should probably just adopt that, it works nice.
  8. I think that HAVOC will happen before Mars, simply because of the educational opportunity. People will realize that Venus is not just hell on steroids, and be in awe of familiar features like clouds and orange sunrises. Plus, much less hardware is needed and there's only ED instead of EDL. Everything that needs to be used on HAVOC already exists in some form: 1. Blimps. These have been used to carry people, so they're definitely safe. 2. Air launch to orbit. Used by the Pegasus rocket, a reliable and cheap launch system. 3. Teflon coating and firefighting gear. Needed to protect blimps and humans that are on EVA, both are widespread and used every day on Earth.
  9. I think that NASA will bring back a solar-powered version of the original Altair, the LSAM.
  10. There's no license, download, info, etc. here...
  11. Can you please upload a test version? I don't care about science or biomes!
  12. Saturn-Buran. What the Space Shuttle should have been...
  13. Nova had plans to have a whole complex origin story of the Kerbals involving aliens and the game's easter eggs, but it was never implemented. But there are some mods that may allow aliens. Here's one in development for Kopernicus planets. Also this same guy is working on subterranean oceans.
  14. Those Star Wars crafts are both awesome and weird at the same time. Nice work!
