Hi folks! Haven't used KSP or RSS for a while now, but got a hankering... Has the tilted elliptical thing been changed/fixed yet? Is it at all possible that it might?
-
Dammit Beale... That's it really, just wanted to join in.

This is my favourite forum place to be, by far. Who else is itching to get their hands on the texture-switching parts?!?!

Yes! I tend to agree with Curt, the nozzles would benefit from being just a little darker. Looking great Beale-o!

Here's an an unusual query: Is there any reason this will cause problems if used in 1.2.2? I probably won't be updating to 1.3 for at least 6 months, I am more interested in using my usual suite of mods than the small changes brought by the latest update. I'll have a go at it and see what happens... Great mod Well, thanks!

I like this a lot!!

I posted something off-topic in this thread...

This one is from Airplane Plus: And this is from Kerbonov:

I put a couple of shuttle craft together, I'm far enough through this science career now. This is a mun lander for ferrying Kerbals from the Mun to orbit. Has engines for VTOL underneath: A small shuttle, I haven't used this one yet: Fuel carrying shuttle for rescuing stranded craft:

Nothing too fancy here, just liked the composition...

[KSP 1.12.1+] Galileo's Planet Pack [v1.6.6] [23 Sept 2021]
Jabbman replied to Galileo's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Sooo, Not sure how my laptop places in the league of potatoes, but here are my system stats: 1. With a basic install (no mods whatsoever), and default graphics settings, everything runs as if were stock. It has been literally years since I played a stock-only game, but everything runs nicely! 2. With only the visual mods included, I notice a FPS drop achieving orbit around Gael. Slightly reducing graphics settings (which I have to do anyway with my usual part mod-heavy installs) solves this. 3. Impatience gets the better of me, and I go ahead and install a selection of my usual mods so I can have a play in sandbox before attacking the system properly in career. I have to remove Scatterer & SVE in order to get reasonable graphics performance, but this is usually the case with a non-GPP install for me anyway. At this point I refer to the original request @Galileo made for people to run some test on less powerful systems and notice that you specifically requested FPS figures and screenshots. Unfortunately I haven't provided the quantitative data for you and am now far too involved with tinkering with different mods and getting stuck into this brilliant planet pack you guys have made for us! In summary, GPP gives a slight performance hit on my laptop when installed with the usual volume of parts mods I play with. It is completely playable with a bit of tinkering and compromising. Sorry I could not be more concise. And thanks for the mod!- 7,371 replies

Challenge accepted! I've had my eye on this for a little while, and after seeing Mr Manleys recent videos I'm going to give it a go. Downloading now, I hope to post results here (sans other mods) and my system specs over the weekend. I love the wiki/literature that accompanies this btw, you can tell a lot of work has gone into the project, congrats.- 7,371 replies

This is normal, I believe. There are no IVAs so placeholders have been used to retain the ability to see and click on your Kerbals

Stock KSP was becoming a bit of a grind recently, so I decided to have a proper go at a RO/RSS install. I flirted with RSS back in 1.05, but never carried it through. I managed to get it up and running, with a shed load of mods and my fragile old laptop seems to be coping well enough for medium graphics settings! To begin with, I cracked open a sandbox game just to get my bearings. Set launch site to Tyuratam and proceeded to play with my favourite thing in KSP: Soviet booster replicas. Needless to say I soon hit the learning curve and all of a sudden KSP is as fun, challenging and exciting as it was when I first started playing stock back in 0.18! Here are some of my Soviet-era replicas... R-7 with Vostok unmanned test capsule: Early Soyuz capsule test: Stage II Soyuz capsule test: R-7 Satellite launch: Proton/TKS test launch: In all seriousness though, I did finally get some things working. And when you do, it's all the more satisfying... Finally orbited the TKS This 'Soyuz 5' inspired machine actually left the ground without detonating: And some Tantares R-7 Glamour shots: I'm having so much fun!!
