It's 2MB. Does it really take that long? Yeah, more often would be a great idea. -
Kerbal NewsFlash - News at a Glance (Issue #02 OUT!)
Volcanix replied to mythic_fci's topic in KSP Fan Works
I really like this. Maybe you could make it a bit longer if it is weekly news, I've read through all in 2 minutes ^-^ -
Exactly this. Currently (for me) KSP is the best in his genre, and AFAIK it's the only one that offers that much possibilities. With a lot of mods and an active community like this KSP will be played for years. The important thing for SQUAD is to improve the graphics to match with better computers and make more content for it, not forgetting that it's important to make cinematics to get people to buy the game.

I think the Administration Building should be added, shouldn't it?

Kerbodyne SSTO Division: Omnibus Thread
Volcanix replied to Wanderfound's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Found some time to test a couple of planes from you now, so let's begin. I installed FAR. Just for info. And consider me being a noob flying spaceplanes, even if I've got a lot of experience in flight sim X^^ I'm sorry that I don't have any screenshots, but I was to concentrated to actually flying the planes. I tested the Kerbodyne Benchmark first. The ascent went pretty well, I used the RAPIERs during ascent. I got it to 30km height with 1.500m/s speed and then switched the mode of the RAPIERs. I burned until I got an apoapsis of 77km, and then circularized the orbit. I ended up with about half and a bit of fuel left. It's a great plane After about three quarters of an orbit I burned to fly back to the KSC (I tried my first SSTO landing ) I overestimated the aerobraking. I overestimated it A LOT. It seems like FAR reduces the drag really much.. I came in at the KSC... at 20km height. Diving down wasn't an option, so I needed something else. I tried to turn around with little maneuvers, no success. Harder maneuvers, aerodynamic failure... So I decided to fly over the ocean and land at the next "continent".. and landed there. It was a bit hard because the surface was a bit tilted to left, but it worked. I'm sorry but I haven't got more time to play KSP now <.< but I'll edit or post something new soon. Conclusion: The Kerbodyne Benchmark flies pretty well, I think the wheels could be placed a with a little bit more space between them to prevent tilting over when landing on difficult surfaces. The engines are pretty well but one more intake would maybe be a good idea for gaining more speed in higher.. heights. But the plane is a lot of fun to fly, for beginners it's only important to know that you can glide for AGES with FAR installed and you have to watch out for aerodynamic failures. The flight assistance systems are kinda helpful, especially the AoA one.. would you mind sharing your settings of your FAS? -
You finally managed to not take a picture of your screen with your phone but to make a SCREENSHOT! Nice Would you mind showing some screens of the launch vehicles? I'm curious how you managed to bring that thing into orbit with just 3 launches

Paper Space Program 1.8 (KSP Rocket Parts papercraft)
Volcanix replied to arc5555's topic in KSP Fan Works
Good luck with that.. Show us some piccies when you're finished ^-^ -
495 Tonnen... Hast du das im Orbit zusammen gebaut? Ich kann mir nur schwer vorstellen dass du das so gestartet hast o.O Und wofür so groß? Das geht doch auch kleiner. Oder hat das 'nen bestimmten Zweck? ^^

Yeah, KSOS finally works for me! And it's awesome Keep it up! -
Damn, that base is nice. Is it in career mode or sandbox? It looks like it can.. drive. (i mean the base^^) can it? I can't imagine that base being able to drive

Kerbodyne SSTO Division: Omnibus Thread
Volcanix replied to Wanderfound's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Yeah, the Benchmark is a really good plane. I think it's easy to fly because it adjusts the prograde marker quickly in the direction where you are pointing because the engine has a lot of power. I think that's what makes them easy to fly. I can maybe help you with the market-research thing or whatever you meant to say. I think it would be a good idea to integrate the parts of Spaceplane+ because they 1. look pretty good and 2. are going to be implemented soon. I'm not quite sure if we - well, if I could help you with it I'd say we but don't rely on me, I've got a lot of things to do but I can still help - should use FAR/NEAR, I think it would be better if you would build a trainer for FAR and stock (optimized for each one). I hope I understood correctly what you said, sorry I'm not the best at english -
Exploring The System - A design tutorial campaign 0.90 Final
Volcanix replied to Pecan's topic in KSP1 Tutorials
Well, 12 intakes isn't that much, I think. It may seem a lot because the plane isn't really big, but look at for example, they really need all those intakes. I THINK they use a lot of intakes because he's able to fly really high, but I may be wrong. I'm still trying to build a spaceplane that actually flies without flipping over Or is it just my bad piloting? Mh. -
I am so unqualified to be in charge of a space center.
Volcanix replied to Bissotwo's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Hey there. I also know that from my KSP beginnings. I began thinking "I'm never gonna learn this..." "Why have I bought this.." "I'm just so stupid.." And it started depressing me that I could not get a rocket to orbit.. Now, until about 45 hours, I understand a lot of this game, things like ∆V, TWR, the mechanics of a couple of mods, I can dock, rendezvous and land on kerbin's moons. You may think this is not pretty good, but to be honest I haven't even tried to land on another planet. Don't give up, try around, look at other people designs, read tutorials, watch YouTube series. And believe me, it's pretty much learning by doing in KSP, but without help from other people like those at the Forum you also won't get a "master league player" in KSP. So just don't give up^^Ask questions when you've got some. Good luck. -
Resources and how could they be more interesting ?
Volcanix replied to Justin Kerbice's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Mhh.. I'm thinking of using a easy-to-get resource to begin with, fill up your KSC fuel tanks etc. and have a working resource processing. I think Kethane would be easy to begin with because you can find a lot of it on Kerbin, but to be honest I haven't got any experience with Karbonite. What do you think about the beginning? First gather the resource, convert it into fuel, use the fuel to expand your space program, maybe sell it to get money, earn reputation, getting more reputation gets you sponsors, which pay you xx.xxx$ funds if you do x in x days.. well that would be a little bit more leaned on the current career mode but I think that wouldn't be that bad idea. what do you think of it? -

Ah, okay. Another useful mod for information.. My RAM doesn't seem full enough now Thanks. -
Resources and how could they be more interesting ?
Volcanix replied to Justin Kerbice's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I think we should make a community driven project out of this. We provide some basic stuff, look at Karbonite for example, RoverDude done the basic part, and other people make new parts for it, for example. Would this be a good idea? I think doing this alone or in a little team would be a little bit too much, except that we first need to write a concept so other people can imagine what we plan to do. I guess I'll write one now. Got nothing else to do. After working out a concept I maybe ask RoverDude if he'd like to help us or if had a problem with us using his mod in our ... mod constellation? Sorry I'm not a native english speaker and it's sometimes hard to imagine what some words mean in english. Hope you understand what I mean. Volcanix -
Good to hear that it worked. Please write a story about your Mun landing in the Mission Reports section, it's always nice to read other Kerbonatuts' adventures! Post a link here if you've found the time - I'd really like it! And good luck on the landing. Don't forget to bring enough ∆V with you^^

Kerbodyne SSTO Division: Omnibus Thread
Volcanix replied to Wanderfound's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Craft file at https://www.dropbox.com/s/4xh410nyk6mjmhr/Kerbodyne%20Epinephrine.craft Requires Spaceplane Plus and FAR/NEAR. If only I could build SSTO's Regarding the vernors; they don't thrust in the directions that the normal RCS thrusters thrust in, do they? I'm not really sure, but as I tried docking a SSTO-like "plane".. It wasn't really a plane but never mind..^^ I noticed that having one right and one left is not able to maneuver the ship like it would need to. Do you know what I mean? How do you handle this? And another thing. dCoM = dryCenterofMass? If so, how do you know it? Empty all the tanks? -
Kerbodyne Dementia: Porkjet Memorial Edition
Volcanix replied to Wanderfound's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I actually can't believe it survived that, to be honest. That's KSP logic But.. wait... no cargo bay? Just to celebrate... A triumph? Over what? I know PorkJet and his two mods, even if I only remember on of them currently, the habitat pack. What'cha mean by that? -
Is every part of those.. "Base rovers" from LLL? And are you using TAC Life Support? I ask because of the greenhouses^^

Resources and how could they be more interesting ?
Volcanix replied to Justin Kerbice's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Mhh... Yeah.. I think wie should await Justin Kerbice's answer cause he already worked out a pretty good concept (first post) I'm sure he can put that together somewhere. I hope to hear from him^^ -

Volcanix replied to Justin Kerbice's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Hmmm... Don't really know. I think we must first work out a concept and some designs to at least get some attention. I tried installing Karbonite today, sadly, I ended up having a flashing screen in KSP... And starting from scratch is kind of an achievement at least that's how I think about it ^-^ We should work out a concept somewhere. The question is where <.< Have you got an idea for a concept or where to work it out? -
I've already seen that, but that's not cheap :DD
