  1. Oh hey yeah I don't have time to update this mod so it's dead sorry but we had fun right?
  2. Actually, as the mass of fuel increases, the mass of tanks increases proportionally. Instead of approaching zero, the dry mass approaches a certain part of the wet mass, resulting in it approaching a certain real amount of delta-v, not infinite.
  3. What do you mean? Yes, that's another good solution.
  4. Figured it out. No matter how many tanks you add, you will never have enough delta-v to get to the sun. A tank with a mainsail alone would not have enough delta-v. Try reducing the number of mainsails per tank.
  5. Apologies, KSP Part Tools doesn't provide the right shaders to pull Kerbol off.
  6. I made them pretty versatile just in case someone wanted to roll them down a mountain, but if you throw them at something at more than 2 km/s they will.
  7. Version 2 is here! It adds all of the other celestial bodies in the Kerbol system, save for Kerbol itself. There is no image to go with this announcement, but there will be soon. Someone make an IR solar system and send the craft file to me. https://kerbalstuff.com/mod/1171/The%20Mun%20%28Pocket%20Edition%29 (Available on CurseForge shortly)
  8. Originally, I was going to have the density of each body remain the same for each model. However, the pocket mun would weigh 122 tons, about 3 times as much as a Rockomax-64 Orange. I'm sure no one would appreciate that. So I'm going to keep the same relative density, but tone it down for each. EDIT: Gilly is smaller than a cubic octagonal strut (about half the size), and Jool barely, just barely, fits in the VAB.
  9. Guys, I'm pretty sure this is how physics works. But the bigger question is, will Jool fit in the VAB? And the smaller question is, where did Gilly go?
  10. Thanks! They won't stay that way, don't worry. Wait, am I making the potato, or the candy named after it?
  11. That would require having a Mercator projection of the surface of the potato. I have no clue where to get that, so I might just have to cobble an estimation out of side-on pictures. The heightmap would be even more painful, because a sphere wouldn't look right. I'll see what I can do, but let me finish the planets first.
  12. It's coming along. KSP's shaders are giving me no end of grief, though. Also, the observant among you will notice what else is wrong with this image.
  13. This is the KSP Tumblr feed. I AM ON THE OFFICIAL KSP TUMBLR FEED. Wow.
  14. This is going to be funny to anyone who understands what I'm doing. The developers must have SO lazy when they made Pol, since they did this: (A section of Pol's color map) This is not light-shaded. This is the actual color map of Pol, and it's already pusedo-LIT. Also, if you look closely, you can see a line where the equator is, near the top-left of the image. EDIT: Actually, this might just be a thing that KerbalMaps goes to make the map more readable. Let me check.
  15. Feedback time! Is this level of quality sufficient? -Minmus heightmap isn't quite accurate, but it is recognizable. -Gilly uses its "close" colormap, not its "far" colormap -Kerbin (and any other atmspheric bodies) has (or will have) no atmosphere -Close-to-spherical bodies (Mun, Tylo, and Kerbin are shown here) will be shaped and lit like spheres, ignoring their negligible geometries. -Minimal poly count on all -Water is properly specular (reflects the sun), but does not look quite right without Kerbin's atmosphere -Slightly noticeable iffy poles (not shown) Also, would you like these bodies the same size (shown here), to scale, or with moons half the size of planets? Also, does anyone have a clever idea for the in-VAB-part infos?
  16. I'll see if I can get KSP Part Tools to do that. Meanwhile, Gilly is coming along nicely...
  17. Hm... It's just a sphere, but I guess Minmus, Gilly, etc wouldn't look right... Now I'm interested. Let me look into this.
  18. It is on KerbalStuff and (supposedly) CKAN. I checked a box somewhere. Thanks! Wow, this is already a hot thread? Cool!
  19. No reason, just the way I ended up doing it. You can manually replace the part's munMap.tga with the TextureReplacer's image for the Mun.
  20. If you want a different planet instead of the Mun, find a Mercator (Equirectangular spherical) projection of its surface, make sure it's a .tga, and replace munMap.tga with it.
