  1. Welcome, TheXRuler! - - - Updated - - - That's why we're considering a second save file.
  2. It's okay. Should be easy to bring them home, they have 150% of the delta-v they need.
  3. Wait, who took off from Ike? (I'm trying to keep track of these things.)
  4. Now it's going to be sad because Al is going to run that self-diagnostic and "fix" his "vocabulary errors".
  5. Question/Challenge/Request: Is there an equation that, given a certain initial thrust, specific impulse, and mass of a parent body: Starts at a certain horizontal velocity, at a certain altitude (equatorial radius of the parent body), with a vertical velocity of zero, and Ends at a certain horizontal velocity, at a certain altitude, with a vertical velocity of zero, and can calculate how much delta-v (or fuel mass) this change of horizontal velocity while maintaining zero vertical velocity? Because, if there is, then one could calculate how much delta-v (or fuel mass) that a multi-stage landing or takeoff would take by plugging in such a formula for each stage. (There may also need to be a formula for how much horizontal velocity you can change with a certain amount of delta-v).
  6. So, don't do something that will eventually kill the kerbal, and don't pose any literally impossible challenge.
  7. The last rule is not necessary, and the second part of the first rule is not necessary. Anything else can be summed up as: Don't do anything that might make the kerbal eventually die. (Kerbals can live forever if not killed.) Alos, I think green just means "person" now.
  8. This suggestion paints a picture so dreary of such an organization that they would play a GAME of super-unethical interplanetary-strand-the-kerbal. But it would be cool and fun! I'm in. (I already did Eve.)
  9. Dangit, Correy, we warned you not to trust Musil again!
  10. 3 Kerbin space stations (one decorative, one crew, one private), 5 Tractor nuclear tugs in LKO, 1 Jool refueling station, 1 Space Taxi, 1 Mun outpost, 1 Eve outpost (with a rover) (we're working on getting the crew back), 5 kerbals waiting to come back from a Duna/Ike mission, and a Tylo "mission". I think that's all, but there might be more.
  11. As the most popular solution to our dillema was to start Cycle 2 prematurely, I will stand by your decision to take a Cycle 2 turn now. (Also, it would start in less than 11 hours anyway.)
  12. Oh, you used the same launch stage for both. Ok, you're good.
  13. Ah. In that case, you just need a clever mission profile and ship design, and you can get away with about a Rockomax Orange from LKO. Actaully, if you would like me to elaborate, I was considering making a video studying the Jool-5.
  14. What do you mean? You already did... (You sent a refueling vessel to Jool before the challenge ship was sent)
  15. Ah, that's a good plan, because it directly reflects what I'm trying to accomplish. Unless someone has a better idea or this gets substantial disapproval, I think we'll go with his one. - - - Updated - - - Jool Club is on a separate save file. Check Google Drive for more information. (In addition, pre-sending fuel is against official Ultimate Jool-5 rules.)
  16. And what launch stage launched the tractors? (I have to be thorough here, I don't want anyone to cheat).
  17. Okay, but do you have a picture of the craft on the launchpad (or near the beginning of the flight) or a craft file?
  18. It seems that this thread might die if we don't allow users to play again soon. So, should we: A) Start a secondary save file Prematurely end Cycle 1
  19. Welcome, Ashrad! I do love LJO. P.S. How did it get there? - - - Updated - - - How did those tugs and that base get there?
  20. And I took the third turn. By the way, all the pictures are corrupted.
  21. Hold on- surely that's the launch stage to get it to Tylo, not just the Tylo lander! That's huge!
  22. A subfolder is necessary. Videos are always good. I personally use record with Dxtory and edit with Vegas, but those are pretty expensive. If you're looking for free stuff to get you started (or for a test drive of the YouTube universe), I'd recommend Windows Live Movie Maker for editing and CamStudio for recording. Neither of them have any decals, but you have to play with CamStudio's settings for a bit to get the correct framerate. Recording doesn't actually increase your computer's workload by very much. As for internet connections, mine's pretty terrible, but a 720p, 3 minute video only takes about 5 mins to render (with Movie Maker) and 10 mins to upload.
  23. Welcome, jman508! By the way, Musil, when's Jool Club starting?
