Tried it. Can't get anywhere. Something always shoots me down.

Hello I'm not sure if this is in the right category or if there is already an answer. Tried searching with a keyword "joystick" with little to no results. My problem: On a moments impulse I bought a joystick just to play KSP. Got home, plugged it in and started binding keys. Trial and error, no luck. For example; the joystick has a small lever for thrust control, but whether I turned it up or down, thrust goes up. Finally I wasn't even able to play. Every time I rolled a plane to runaway, all the control surfaces (small wings etc.) disappeared. If I hit the "next stage" button, everything went dark, couple times it even froze. In other words the game crashed. Problem was solved when I removed all joystick bindings. My Question: Could someone with more experience post a quick tutorial how to use joystick with the game. Or something else helpful. P.S. The Joystick I got is: http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_UK/products/usb-joystick There are the thrust lever, 3 buttons, a trigger and an analog stick (sort of)

And here I was planning to start writing about a guy, who gets a B-17 Flying Fortress, makes it spaceworthy and flies off to new worlds with a small band of misfits as a crew.
-
Flying High by ZZ Top. The non-album version. They had it playing during spacecraft Soyuz's flight to ISS.

A few parts that would come in handy. Mk2 battery pack Mk2 RCS-fuel tank And... I guess that's it

Hello again. This time I'm looking for a rather simple mod, that would allow me to use key shortcut to extend and retract all solar panels. Like we can lower landing gear, turn on and off lights and brake with a one key. Need I say why it would be handy?
-
I was wondering is there a mod(s) out there that would give me parts (or the whole craft) to build The Mun Rover seen in And Santa's super sleigh seen in
-
There is one strut. It's pretty big though. A mod containing all the parts for KSP would be something awesome.

I just discovered this game called SimpleRockets for most smartphones (at least on Android and Windows Phone, not sure about ios) You may already have heard of it. As a person spending a lot of time playing KSP I find it very enjoyable being able to build rockets. First time I ever spent money on an app and I feel it was worth it. Discussion. Post your creations, if you like.

Is there any mods that gives those airbags as seen in video below? Or something similar. Would make landing rovers much more-- I don't want to say easier, but yeah --authentic. Cooler. Round. Bouncy. Fluffy. Thanks.

Bad news from NASA, should KSP follow suit?
Las-pen replied to kiwi1960's topic in Science & Spaceflight
As a non-American I don't see why this is bad news -

How about KSP 0.24? Try SimpleRockets for smartphones, it's not free, but it's very cheap (and well worth the money). It's basically KSP 2D. Bad Piggies is free on android. Free for PC? Legally? Space Engine UFO: Alien Invasion* Oolite* Most free games are really old. Or *Open Source rip offs.

I think it is coming sooner or later, like everything else. Steam and the whole industry is getting cluttered by "unique" indie games with 8-bit graphics while big companies just release the same games over and over again. There's too much from where to choose and most of it is pretty much the same anyways

Hi. Good suggestions. Will definitely try some of them out. And nice to hear SP+ is getting integrated. It's very good mod. And about mod packs, maybe not the best idea, since everyone has different idea about mods they want (for example: I'm not huge fan of the Firespitter, but still it is reguired by many mods), but can be handy sometimes, if the mods are similar enough. For example; a mod pack for Near Future mods could be useful for some. I was reading through this list http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/36863-What-not-to-suggest and wondering how up to date it is? Last year I downloaded some mods mentioned there, but that was... well last year, a lot has changed, with Curse scattering the mods all around (this forum isn't exactly the most fluent way to search for mods). Kethane has been pretty much replaced with karbonite, hasn't it. And interstellar... is it still valid?

I also think it would be cool if the Kerbals had different skills. Some were better at repairing things whereas others were better at piloting... On the other hand maybe not, since then it would depend on the kerbal, whether you crash or not, and not the craft itself. Any mods for that?

So far I've been playing KSP pretty much vanilla, with some minor and helpful mods, like Joint Reinforcement and Crew Manifest. Mostly because the mods might become obsolete when the game updates. Or my saves break if I switch to a computer that doesn't have specific mods. (I do the same with Skyrim and many other moddable games) Recently I've started looking some bigger mods and was wondering if there are some necessary ones that everyone should have. So far I've only got Original Parts, KAX and Spaceplane Plus and I like how they look like stock parts (well, maybe not the Original Parts). Though it doesn't have to be just part packs.

I once tried to create a spacestation called "Spustation" At the time I thought "well, if 'Moon' is 'Mün', then 'Space' must be 'Spüs' in Kerbish" Never even got it out of the hangar. Feel free to use it.

A Friend recommended it once or twice to me. And it looks a very tempting game. Fly in space, do whatever you want. However I have never played and never will play anything that has monthly payments. Also I don't like multiplayer games so much.
-
I personally don't mind him being there, but it annoys me, that if I select a specific crew (other than Bill, Bob and Jeb) for a mission, test it out, crash, revert and try again, the crew has been switched back to original. It would also be cool if it was random Kerbal each time. I can imagine kerbals playing rock, paper, scissors in the Astronaut Training Complex about who got the next assingment

I tried this mod and I think I'm in love. However the IVA view on other cockpit (not the one that comes at the tip of plane, the other one) is a bit... empty. A minor flaw however, though I can't imagine having similar IVA views on both cockpits can't be that hard. Also I'm not sure if someone else has mentioned this already. I didn't check.

I'm a Finn. What do you want to know? Here's few terms that come to my mind. Try googling some of them. From folklore all I can think is The Groke from the Moomins. Also Santa Claus is Finnish Traditions: Sauna is something very Finnish. A place to wash your body and mind. Juhannus (Midsummer / St. John's Day in English) is one highpoint of a year. Drinking is always close when it comes to holidays. Be it Christmas, Easter, Midsummer, 1st of May, Finns get drunk. Bonfires are traditionally lit on Easter and Midsummer Foods:Mämmi is a traditional food we eat on Easter. Salmiak is a "sweet". Potato is pretty much basis to every food we eat. Drinks: well... beer, booze, anything with alcohol. That and coffee.(Me? I drink neither. Just to be clear.)Architecture: Alvar Aalto Literature: Tove Jansson (The Moomins), Aleksis Kivi (Seven Brothers), Mika Waltari (Sinuhe, The Egyptian), Elias Lönnrot (Kalevala) Music: Jean Sibelius Finns are very quiet and a pretty depressed people who like to drink very, very much. Suicide is a common. Did I mention we like to drink? About Finnish paganism. Some gods Ukko: The high-god. God of sky and weather and harvest. The Finnish term Ukkonen (= Thunder) is derived from him Ahti: The God of Waters. The one fishermen prayed for good catch. Tapio: The King of Forest. The one hunters prayed for good prey. Finns are very agricultural people and Finland is mostly composed from Forests and Lakes, so those are perhaps the most important (at least the most famous) gods. I would suggest you try Crusader Kings 2 with Old Gods DLC. Also Karelian mythology is close to Finnish mythology.

It is hard to argue against kamikaze-kerbals.
