The Medwedian Crisis Medwedia has succeeded in the space program greatly, as it did in military proceedings, science, economy and other things. Medwedia launched the first man into space - Potapych Wach. Medwedia was the first to land on the mun. Medwedia succeeded. But things are looking grim for Medwedia and the whole Kerbal civilization. TABLE OF CONTENTS ENCYCLOPÆDIA MEDWEDICA [MORE TO BE ADDED LATER] THE MEDWEDIAN DEMOCRATIC FEDERATION Medwedia is a nation located on the Old Kolus continent, with the capital in Medwed. Medwedia is a very conservative country that is ruled by a president that is elected for a 6-year term (but re-elected sometimes even 5 or more times because there are no limits and because people are sometimes "motivated" by the government to choose the "right" ruler.) The current ruler is Sir Marshal President Theodor Lynden Frankenstein. The biggest foe and concurrent of Medwedia is the liberal republic of Foresti. Both nations are the biggest superpowers on Kerbin. Medwedia employs a large space program which is heavily concentrated on Military purposes. Most astronauts are from the giant family Kerman that has roots from various parts of the world, but many Medwedian, Non-Kerman astronauts are employed.

What was ksp like when it first came out
MedwedianPresident replied to awsomejwags's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I started playing in good ole .12, and I realized immediately that the game had great potential. I watched as the community grew from 500 to like 50.000 people. -
So...I was doing a practice flight over the mountains west of KSC, flying around the peaks and so. What I noticed is that there are several valleys that are completely enclosed by mountains and look like craters in general. Could this actually mean that the big atoll crater is NOT the only crater on Kerbin and that smaller meteorites can also penetrate Kerbin's atmosphere (which is possible because the atmosphere is only like 60km thick.)

Just as a notice to you RPers, my forum is not dead, we need a few more nations, the rule sets, and then we are set. http://medwediaforum.forumieren.com/

[Discussion] Mission concepts
MedwedianPresident replied to MedwedianPresident's topic in KSP Fan Works
Hm...good idea...but what should be a logical reason for it? After all it's for an AAR or a video and not a challenge. Maybe to collect important facts about the Kerbolar radiation? -
I want to have some new mission concepts. I will accomplish them along with my beloved concept of an eve underwater base. Please be as crazy as possible. MASA wants a engineer who is similar to Jeb.

I am just interested, would it be possible to make a FPS set on Kerbin including RP nations but also new ones. I mean, RP events such as the Medwedian Crisis but also imaginary stuff like the army of KSC2 attacking KSC1.

Sorry, I always mistake beverages for side dishes.

Probably replacing factory meat with meat from happy animals that come from farms where they are treated appropriately. This would not only improve the quality and healthiness of the flesh that is eaten but also would help rebalance the planet's ecosystem because then livestock will be treated like animals again and can interact with the environment like real animals do. It might take up space, but the solution is not cutting on meat or becoming vegetarian, but rather: FARM PLANETS! That is, when we arise to the stars in the future, one or two planets which have plains and a breathable atmosphere could be used entirely for farming livestock. If edible plants are located on the planet and other conditions for a healthy animal are met, meat production can continue in the future without any need for factory farming. An argument against the freeing of animals is that it basically would damage the earth in an even worser way: we Humans have bred animals to eat them, and now new types of animals have developed from their wild counterparts. If meat was suddenly outlawed from the whole world, one big problem would arise: Where with that leftover meat, part of which is already with supermarkets, and where with all the waste livestock then? If we "liberate" the cows, then they would start dining at farms otherwise reserved for the growing of vegetables. That is, no meat also means no vegetables - both foods are dependent on each other. That is; you shouldn't become vegetarian, you just should eat meat from appropriate sources where animals are treated like animals and not like items.

I am asking here whether you prefer to eat steak medium and pink on the inside or whether you like it more well-done. Here, you basically say to what extent you like to grill red meat such as steak. You also can say which beverages you like. I personally prefer the flavour of lightly grilled - that is, 'medium rare' flesh, especially the lean and tender cuts because they are easier to cut and to chew - having fat on a steak typically prevents me from chewing the meat quickly and in the proper way. That is, I like my meat tender. When it comes to side dishes, I like any form of potatoes, but my favourite is Croquettes - basically small pieces of puree put into a pill made out of bread (like the crust of a schnitzel) that are up to 5 centimetres long. Top Tip: I once read that cooking your meat with rosemary would destroy any cancer causing substances. Good meat from happy animals on farms who have lots of space and get to graze every day probably doesn't have them, but you should still do it because it may add an additional flavour note to the meat as the juice from the herb is soaked into the muscle tissue.

Is it possible to tell the story of the far future of Kerbin with star trek-like technologies and ships? What starship classes would there be? What uniforms? What aliens? Vulkans? Kardassians?

Kerbal Justice/Punishments
MedwedianPresident replied to MedwedianPresident's topic in KSP Fan Works
I would give a pilot who forgot to put the landing gear up after starting his jet, 400 lashes with the Great Medwedian Knout. -
So...nothing happens to Jeb if he "accidentally" crashes a rocket into the launchpad, but what happens to poor Kurt if he does so? What are the punishments Kerbals can get for doing wrong?

Hirnrygt (Medwedian literally for "Brain Vomiting") - this is a viral disease found mainly in rural areas of northern Medwedia. Only 124 documented cases have been identified. There are several stages of it. Stage I: Heavy bleeding out of body openings starts. Vision is blurred and movement is painful. The victim has to cough constantly, which causes the disease to be mistaken for a TB-like lung condition. The symptoms are caused because the virus orders the body to disintegrate itself. Stage II: Vision is now restricted to blurred, black-and white pictures. Hallucinations start and the victim is very weak due to blood loss, so movement is extremely hard. Fat is lost, and many processes such as digestion are halted. Stage III: The brain starts falling apart, and bits of it can start exiting through the mouth or ears. The victim finally dies as the control center of the body is destroyed, but the organs proceed disintegrating, with bodily fluids exiting for several days and bones transforming into a butter-like substance. Infection can occur through any contact with body fluids of the victim. Of course, just to make it more scary, no treatment is known.

Anyone has ideas on uniforms for the star fleet to be worn during the 2170s, 2180s, and up to 2225 (where the Kelvin uniforms were probably introduced)? I personally think that by 2170 the 2160's style jumpsuits will be replaced with two-piece uniforms; the colours of the breastpatches might change to black and now the shirt colour will be signalising whether a person is from command, security or science. Captain (now admiral or so) Archer will as such wear a pale yellow jacket or something like this. The breastpatches will retain their ENT-era form until probably the late 2180's, where it will be replaced with the smooth "rucksack-bearer" style patches. Until around 2200 the ship's insignia is worn on the shoulder. After the 2210's the uniforms will slowly start to go towards the Kelvin-era ones with a temporary colour switcheroo - the colours would become darker. By 2238-2240 the colours would be brought back to the ones used in the late 22nd century. The uniforms would go into their Pike era and then into the early TOS era.

Meat Eater vs. Vegetarian debate
MedwedianPresident replied to MedwedianPresident's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Meat is also not only food to the people who eat it - if the whole world would suddenly become vegetarian, then thousands of farmers, hunters and butchers would suddenly lose their jobs. -
MEAT EATER VS. VEGETARIAN DEBATE Here is the thread to argue for or against the consumption of meat and other animal products. Feel free to post interesting arguments and facts along with recipes and tips for your respective diet; but keep in mind that this is a debate thread and there should be discussion between the sides. MY OPINION ON MEAT I am a keen meat eater and have been so always; while a snack can be just a piece of cheese or a bread with butter for me, a real meal must have some sort of meat in it. I do not eat fish and seafood because I have had a serious allergy when I was a child. I think that humans have the full right to eat whatever they want as long as it is not dangerous; it does not matter whether it comes from animals, plants or mushrooms (Mushrooms are NOT plants!). I am not against the consumption of vegetables as they make great side dishes and still remain healthy and tasty; but I think that humans have the complete right to kill and eat animals as our ancestors fought our way up the food chain. Moreover, there is evidence for that not only in stone age drawings of people with bows killing bisons but also biological facts supporting the human omnivorism. Although longer than that of a carnivore, but shorter than that of a herbivore, our intensines are adapted for extracting both proteins and vitamins from food. I think that meat is the best source of protein and should be given at least one third of the plate - in fact, if we did not eat red meat during the stone age our brains would be smaller by 5 percent. Meat, in general, is not automatically unhealthy; not only (especially red meat) gives it large amounts of iron and protein but also the word "Meat" is not a synonym to the word "Fat" - Bison or Wild meat in fact contains only small amounts of it as the animals run around. Furthermore, even "fat" meats such as pork are important for living. As a piece of evidence; a study was once performed on two groups of african children. One was given meat while the other was given grains - after six months both groups met for mathematical tests. The group which was given meat was much better at solving the problems prepared for them. We humans were born to eat meat. We would be natural vegetarians if we'd evolved from cows; but we evolved from different animals, and as such we have the full right to eat meat. To finalise my argument, three words: MEAT. IS. DELICIOUS.

I just downloaded it in steam three days ago. I am already at rank 4, and I unlocked many different units such as white and black bear infantry. I use FoTS units. Anyone else playing the game? If yes, tell me what your rank is, whether you use modern or medieval units, and what your username is so that we can make battles or even create a clan.

You should definitely read the works of great authors such as Jules Verne, Wells or Asimov. They always include some sort of science fiction in them.

Doing this so that tomorrow I can go to bed early so that I can wake up earlier. Should I go to sleep or wait till the morning comes?

Skip reentry is very well possile wihout FAR!
MedwedianPresident replied to MedwedianPresident's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Sorry i meant Periapsis not Apoapsis. Periapsis in atmo after maneuver = Skip reentry Periapsis out of atmo after maneuver = Aerobraking Anyways, why should we be here right now? We are supposed to be playing around with ARM right now! -
Skip reentry is very well possile wihout FAR!
MedwedianPresident replied to MedwedianPresident's topic in KSP1 Discussion
What I did again was to enter the atmosphere, decelerate, fly back up to 72 km, and land on the other side of the planet. Aerobaking is when your apoapsis is still above the atmosphere after the maneuver. Skip reentry is when it isn't. -
I was returning my Apollo replica from a Mun flyby. I did a periapsis of 30 kilometers above Kerbin's night side. During entry from orbit you would land immediately, but with 3 km/s I "skipped" out of the atmosphere up to 72 kilometers; after which I had a very shallow descent. I landed on the opposite side of Kerbin from where my first entry was; yes, as a bonus I got to land on the day side. I did I very well without FAR.

[WIP] Green Skull Inc. Development Thread
MedwedianPresident replied to Green Skull's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Green Skull, can you take my request?
