So, another alternative history challenge. The = Koviet LK program succeeded, actually landing the first ever human on the moon before the americans. Now, the KSSR's position as the leading space power is fixed. Kerolev has decided to develop his LK programme even further and fly to Duna! But Kerolev needs assistants - YOU! Design the best spin-off of LK that can bring at least 2 Kerbals to Duna, land at least one of them, and bring them back to Kerbin. The rules: 1. You may use mods if you want to, but no MechJeb or other autopilots. 2. The craft must be inspired by Soyuz and LK or be based on it. 3. No asparagus/other unrealistic constructions. Be sensible. 4. Autosaving allowed. 5. At least 2 kerbals in the craft and at least 1 of them to be landed on duna and returned back to the craft. Points & Additional Rewards: You start out with 10 points. the Amazing Trio - 3 (or more) kerbals in the spacecraft. - 20 points Old Comrades - Have Jeb, Bill and Bob in your spacecraft. - 5 points Degustating the Air - Use aerobraking or aerocapture to stabilize your orbit around Duna. - 20 points Open Fire prohibited - Use only parachutes to slow yourself down for the landing on Duna. - 15 points Comin' in QUICK - Do not enter an orbit around duna, instead enter the atmosphere straight from the orbit around Kerbol. - 30 points Phoosh Phoosh - Your craft is so big that it needs 30 or more RCS ports to steer it. - 20 points Long Trip - use another planet or moon for an gravitational sling. Ikke only Duna - visit or land on Ike as well as Duna. Home sweet Home - when returning to Kerbin, land near KSC. Another Home sweet Another Home - when returning to Kerbin, land in the KSC 2 valley. Additional Points will be awarded if i think is needed so. (Think good design, realism, etc...)

How about we put a Villa or even a Palace into the Noble Area? Maybe a parody of Buckingham Palace or Slot Rosenborg? -
Your goal is to build a carrier plane, and a manned missile. The missile should be carried to the second KSC and then detach from the plane, hitting any building of KSC 2.

Maybe after Kerbin City is big enough we could start building more cities around the planet? How about a city in the northern hemisphere as a replica of Plesetsk? And Tw1, a giant bridge over the "Kerbraltar Strait" connecting Kafrica and the desert would be cool! Maybe even a railway system that spans the whole planet? -

How about we make a aerial flight mission using a Mission Editor where you have to fly to Kerbin City from KSC, pick up new Astronaut Recruits and/or a payload (Rocket Fuel, new parts, etc...), and bring it all back to KSC? Maybe it would include disembarking from the plane and driving around the City in a Truck/UAZ/Bus? -

Could someone just post pictures of skyscraper textures? Because i'm downloading sketchup right now so i can create a Kjolsen Aerospace administration building. Also, i saw a russian thread and they are trying to re-create Baikonur. Maybe we should cooperate with them? -

Sorry for Double Posting. How about a whole corporate district where Zokesia Skunkworks, Kjolsen Aerospace and their subsidaries would have their offices. It would also include a little airport/heliport for VTOL's and light craft? I imagine driving through Kerbin City in a UAZ (or another modded car). -

Maybe Kjolsen Aerospace and Zokesia Skunkworks should be somehow related - e.g. Kjolsen Aerospace would be more militaristic while Zokesia Skunkworks would concentrate on creating scientific ships? And maybe our both aerospaces should have a own space center several kilometers north of Kerbin City? And maybe we even can build more cities on Kerbin such as Medwed City from the RP? -

I think this could be used for KSPRP so for realism players can actually launch their rockets from their actual space centers. -
1. Warp is not as fast as you think. With warp 1 Dr.Zephram Cochrane took about 10 seconds to fly one million kilometers away from earth. So you would need about one minute to leave the kerbolar system. 2. Star Trek mods should ALWAYS include resources. The warp engines should run on matter/antimatter reactors with matter/antimatter resources. 3. Warp travel includes warp fields. They should be run by energy-consuming machines. Should the warp field be deactivated, the vessel immediately exits warp. This means, it "brakes" to an "normal" Speed. It's Not like normal vehicles where only Gravity and Drag influence the speed of a vessel with its propulsion deactivated. 4. More Star Trek Parts & Resources should be the part of a good Star Trek mod. Maybe star-trek style ship bodies with bridge IVA's. Shuttles. And of course, different types of warp engines. Yeah, it would be nice to have army parts. Maybe fighter style wings? And it is not forbidden to do weapon MODS. Maybe weapons, but Stock-Part Stylized? I mean like a gun colored like a stock part. We should have more parts following the stock ideology of design. We all agree that most of our modded spaceships will look much nicer then! -
Post here if you like Airships! Don't forgot to install Ludodyne or Hooligan Labs Plugins. Now, let's think how to put a Blimp into the atmosphere of a another planet. Also check out my Jump from a Balloon challenge! Current Question: On what planets can you use Blimps? Because a Atmospheric Base on Jool would be very good!
