  1. For a later date (remember, I said later, meaning "possibly after frizzank and friends have taken a vacation to prevent Cthulhu from rising up again."): I would like to get some people's opinions on some images of the Atlas I've found. The first three are of a model depicting the 1st stage and sustainer stage separate. I want to know if they are accurate enough for frizzank to use when he models his Atlas rocket. Image 4 appears to be from a museum of the two stages combined, and viewed from the bottom. Image 5 looks like Nasa documentary stuff depicting the Atlas and Mercury. I would also appreciate it if some of you have some more images to share as Google and Bing have failed me when finding images of the Atlas separated. Perhaps I lack key word skills. Also, frizzank, if you already have these images, then carry on Just seeing if I could cut some work down. (Going to post links instead of using image tags since they are kinda big.) Image 1 "the set" Image 2 "Sustainer" Image 3 "Half Stage" Image 4 "Rear view" Image 5 "Black and white"
  2. In one of the episodes of KSPTV (a Squadcast episode), Max said "You'll need plugins." I would like this to be confirmed, though. As far as I would assume, all you would do is put it's category in the cfg of the part, but if it will require a plugin, hoh boy. Anyway, like I said, someone confirm/deny what I heard with some evidence.
  3. I think, if I remember correctly, that Mr. frizzank wants us to start using Procedural Fairings. So far, PF does a good job, but don't worry, the creator is still alive and kicking.
  4. I found a way to make the N1 first stage easier to handle. Disable Gimbal, and use tail fins: SAS and Mechjeb can handle the N1. Though when you get into your gravity turn, you will need to add some control input to prevent mechjeb from trying to flip the rocket since mechjeb sets yaw at all or nothing. I found out this technique by searching the forum about wobble. Many people say "Turn off some or all gimbal, and use tail wings."
  5. He released it. Go to spaceport and search bobcat. It's in beta state right now.
  6. In the future... when KSP/Unity can handle this stuff.
  7. Jeb: *looks at switches. Thinks for a moment. Starts banging head on switches. Lok lands on Mun.* Bill, "... wat."
  8. No vote for Atlas 1 properly done in KSP? Man, Atlas is sure going to shrug tonight. *ba dum ch!*
  9. Manual: Step 1: Find common sense. Step 2: Find school on how to use Common sense properly. Step 3: Remember why you went to school for common sense in the first place. Step 4: Re-download the Soviet pack as it's been several versions now while you were in school for common sense. Step 5: Clean up mess of your mind being blown by new stuff. Step 6: Probably should have told you to turn off that ceiling fan. *rimshot*
  10. Explore the Mun... IN STYLE. Now we just need to find a way to bring it back to Kerbin safely, and my Mun Pizza delivery service can get up and going! Is green your favorite color?
  11. That can currently be done (with who knows how many hours of balancing so that the capsule doesn't end up re-launching itself ), but for activating a meter before touching down, I'm not sure. With parachutes it's obviously doable, but for getting a solid motor to ignite in the same way is unknown. Anyone have any insight into this?
  12. That, my friend, is what we call "KSP has a memory leak." Basically the best thing to do is delete stuff you won't use in all of the mods you have installed. Perhaps get rid of a mod.
  13. Hey there, Novapunch, what are you doing on page 6? Get back to page 1 where you belong.
  14. [offtopic] what, someone try to hack the site while it was being migrated? The nerve of some people. [/offtopic] Didn't realize Bobcat posted pics of the LOK, but if he did it right before the site came down for migration, then I wasn't fast enough. But there is a video.
  15. but I always have to worry. I'm beary aware of the implications.
  16. @Maxilica, what do you mean by stages? The parts, or the UI? If it's the UI disappearing, try pressing F2.
  17. @odin_spain, You still haven't said what OS (windows I'll assume) you're on, or which mod you're downloading. However I went ahead and downloaded both packs (soviet and American historical packs), unzipped them using winzip (what I assume is the default zipper in windows) and did not encounter the error you and probably several other people are encountering. This is probably a spaceport issue, which means we are at the mercy of the Spaceport! D:
  18. @Dragon01, The bobcat does what the bobcat does. though I have to agree with you. @Viperwolf, As far as I can tell, I made it up, but if something subconsciously affected me, I wouldn't know
  19. Every time I see someone come in here and say, "I can't find the download," I reach my hand up to my forehead and rub my temples as I laugh at the history of this thread. @pdog1111, Go to Kerbal Spaceport, and search Bobcat. The reason why no links are here is because Bobcat got angry at people being... well people. @Viperwofl, Yeah, it's the plugin, can't do anything about that, so just gotta wait to see what Bobcat has in store for us.
  20. @odin_spain We will need more information than that.
  21. @E-dog Oops, I forgot to talk about the nodes. The top interstage adapter is upside down and attaches to that docking port via the "top" node (the one that moves with H), and the bottom interstage adapter is attached rightside up via the "second" top node. Here's a .craft file with stock and PF stuff in the configuration that I'm trying to deal with.
  22. Firstly, yes I have 2.4.1. Just picked this mod up today, and I have to say it's pretty neat. However, I have found some possible bugs/feature requests (dunno what was intended for the interstage). Firstly, before you view the video, I did try using the normal adapters, but they did not produce an acceptable result, and would have lengthened the vessel by too much. Secondly, the reason that top interstage is where it is is so that I can carry those fueselage pieces as a blast shield for the capsule to protect it from the escape tower (I'm pretending there is realism ). I also want it there so that it won't add length and weight to the vessel (vessel meaning not the rocket that carried it to orbit and minus the escape tower). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51CLhT07t9A (if you can't view video, let me know here, and I'll get to it when I can) If you know of an alternative solution to this problem, then by all means post pics, but don't add the fairings with symmetry mode on. Just use one fairing to show a cross section view sort of. (I'm looking at you, Camelotking524)
