Request for all addin / plugin makers...
Capt'n Skunky replied to Frostiken's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
What if there were two updates on the same day? At that point the version becomes important. Again, I will reiterate, it\'s helpful to the largest audience to have BOTH the Date and current Version Number in the thread title. We can make it official protocol, but the community has been fairly good so far at self policing this issue. Don\'t make me get out the broom. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -

Welcome to the KSP Forums! Never apologize for your bad English, it\'s not your native tongue. Your English is better than some of the native speakers around here. : Happy Launching! Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager -
Share your worst encounters with conspiracy theorists
Capt'n Skunky replied to VincentMcConnell's topic in The Lounge
You can\'t reason someone out of a position they didn\'t reason themselves into. These people have beliefs that are not based on sound logic and evidence, therefore it\'s impossible to use sound logic and evidence to convince them otherwise. They are best ignored and left to shrivel and dry up under the hard sun of reality. Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky -
Nova, until they get some security holes in the plugin interface fixed, the potential harm one can do with a plugin out weighs your need to keep your code private. You are perfectly welcome to do so, just don\'t post your work on the site. At such a time in the future when the ability of a plugin is limited to within the scope of the game, this rule will be revised. I would like to reiterate, please post the source code or this thread will be temporarily moved from public view. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

Episode Six: Knowledge | It's Hardly Rocket Science
Capt'n Skunky replied to Sordid's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Most of the jokes are going to be inside jokes that only someone that already plays the game will get. This is why we sometimes give a little explanation in the post text. Different people have differing senses of humor, we don\'t expect everyone to 'get' the joke nor find it funny. You can\'t please everyone all the time. What I do know is the over all response has been quite positive so we must be doing something right. As far as this being a marketing tool for Squad, well, it\'s not endorsed or sponsored by Squad and was never intended to be used that way. We created the comic with existing users in mind, not really to draw people in even though that can be a benefit of the comic. Thank you for your input. Maybe you should try your hand at doing a web comic. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky Kerbal Comics -

It is confirmed Enceladus(Moon) has water below its surface.

How would the amount of sunlight and strength of gravity have anything to do with water being present? Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky -
I wasn\'t referring to you. Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky

Welcome to the KSP Forums! To put images in your post, just paste the URL into the text area, select the whole thing, then click on the image button (furthers left on second set of buttons, under the B button) and it will wrap the URL with image tags. If the image is large, like a screenshot, we ask that you please wrap them in spoiler tags to help cut down on the vertical size of your post. This is done the same way as the image tag. Select the image tags and URL and hit the nuclear button. Happy Launching! Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

Oh man, I can\'t WAIT! I foresee an interesting episode of It\'s Hardly Rocket Science based on the new animations. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager

It\'s salt water as it will freeze at a lower temperature than the drink. This allows it to absorb the heat energy from the drink causing it to freeze fast enough to make a slushy. They take longer because they are essentially manually doing what a slushy machine does automatically using coolants to reach really low temperatures. Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky

I\'d venture a guess that these are artistic renders that used actual photos as start points or textures. It\'s one thing to manipulate an image from a less than ideal look into something that represents what it would look like to the human eye vs. applying artistic license to create something that does not exist naturally. The latter would be the 'fake'. Arrr! Capt\'n Skunky

Request for all addin / plugin makers...
Capt'n Skunky replied to Frostiken's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Different people use different methods when making determinations on whether or not a project has been updated. Some go by version number, others prefer a date. I think it would be wise to cater to the largest possible base by including both a version number and date (at least month and day). The version number should appear at the end of the file name of the download as well. This way if you get an overwrite warning, you know you already have that version. Another thing I\'d like to see you modders do, is make the first folder you see in your zip file, the name of your Project/Imaginary Company. Then inside that folder you would find the Parts and Plugin folders. This allows a user to drag the folder of your project name from the archive into a folder on their HD that keeps all the parts grouped by project. This goes a long way in helping the player keep all their parts organized and standardizes your Project/Company name. Cheers! Capt\'n Skunky KSP Community Manager
