Anyone notice any similarities to Duna Attacks by Matt Lowe and Kerbfleet? I was just thinking. Great Job BTW, @Kuzzter. Terrified Landings!

Gobble Gobble. Thanks for making all these great panels, @Kuzzter. This whole entire novel saga is really cool, between your unique style and the actual mission going on.

What can`t you do in stock KSP or with mods?
RAINCRAFTER replied to John FX's topic in KSP1 Discussion
MAGIC BOULDER But seriously, I think that other star systems would be a cool idea. Or old-future style spacecraft! Or an update to that mod where you got to fly around in cardboard boxes! This stuff would be really, really cool personally (even if it required mods.) -
Wow, apparently I'm out of the loop not downloading anything (except for my own craft of a different time...)

Naming scheme for your ships! (0.24 edition)
RAINCRAFTER replied to mangekyou-sama's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Old Craft Names: I named my first twenty-something rockets I ever made Schwarzenegger 1, 2, etc. because I liked watching The Terminator just a few weeks before. I named my old space stations Spacehouse 1, 2, yeah yeah because that was the first thing that popped into my head. The craft that was my first K-Prize entry all the way back in 0.90 was named Ty Fighter, because it's shadow reminded me of a Star Destroyer, I think (NOT a Star Wars fan at the time, also the pilot is going to comeback later). I named one of the last craft I designed before I started playing the game much less for a few months The Behemoth because of how big it was to me. New Craft: A little over a week ago, I got back on the forums after a nine month hiatus which I only came out of once in June (I made that KSP birthday thread), and that meant rejuvenated interest in KSP. Right now, I have two main craft that I have made so far (Both SSTOs, oooh!) that, of course, I had to christen. Fortunately, now I am a lot better at it than I was before. The first SSTO that I'm going to talk about is the Billy-Bobdock I (notice the roman numerals instead of standard numbers ), the SSTO that calls back to my first (look up). Yep, that was the name of the pilot of the Ty Fighter, and the reason I chose this name was that even though I had another name planned for it that ended up getting used for the other SSTO here, I simply thought that Billy-Bobdock just sounded moar swag than the next name, Artemis I. This name was chosen because of the reference to a greek goddess, like a lot of other people do. Well, hope you enjoyed this post. Rain Out. -
Screenshots Re-Imagined [GROUP THINGY NOW]
RAINCRAFTER replied to HazelPine's topic in KSP Fan Works
Hi Pine! Glad to see you here after our conversation on Twitter. I thought about submitting a more bland screenshot of a nice-looking plane I found, but then I thought about this: And it made me laugh. If you can't tell, this is my submission, and I hope it's wonky nature is preserved in the enhancement once my time in the wait list comes to a close. In other news, I also want to be part of the group, so I must ask if I can join. Rain Out.- 503 replies

Well, I'm all caught up, and all I can say is this: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! (Also, how is @Kuzzter going to model the threat that breached Intrepid at the end of Chapter 15? Like, is it going to be drawn?)

0/10 i don't get it Why, hello fellow humans ! I am Raincrafter, a lovely man who liked to watch the 2016 Rio Olympics !

I, using the powers of modern technology, convert time into matter, and it forms just enough to plant a small, decent hill in the ground. My hill.

To @Kuzzter... A post by you that inspired me... So, I've been binge reading for 2 hrs... I'm on Chapter 12... and quite honestly, this might be better than your other graphic novels. Maybe I was wrong; but still, I've got a few more chapters to read through until I can make a completely fair judgement; and with how good these chapters are coming out to be, I'm most likely going to binge-read the rest of the story up 'till now in the very near future. Rain Out.

1.3 - What will it have?
RAINCRAFTER replied to KAL 9000's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
TWO KERBAL COMMAND CAPSULE. *Triggered* and maybe some cake lol idk -
You see the title. Introducing: Artemis I. I whipped her up just earlier today; I was on a whim trying to test out new, creative ideas in KSP. Then, I started thinking about the SSTO I had made just a few days before (The Billy-Bobdock I, just entered it into the K-Prize) and how it was so overkill, so that lead me to challenging myself with this question: How small can I make a typical spaceplane SSTO? This was my answer to the challenge, and it SERIOUSLY WORKED ON THE FIRST TRY. Sure, I had to quick load a few times, but the craft succeeded the first time out of the SPH, and that was amazing to me. The Stats: ~1700 Liquid Fuel. 165 Oxidiser. 1 R.A.P.I.E.R. Hybrid Engine. Let's get into the details of the first flight, shall we? Takeoff was a little daunting due to the back of the plane being low to the ground, but not pitching up and just letting the plane glide off the runway solved that problem. The rest of the assent seemed pretty average as of the actual experience, but something I only found out about once I was in space really changed my look on that part of the flight. After only ~5 minutes in the atmosphere, I put myself on a sub-orbital trajectory that I would extend into an orbit with my propellant as per the usual, but that's when I noticed I had less than 100 oxidizer left in my tanks (due to burning high-atmo), and that got me kind of startled. I thought, Could this really be the end, this far into take-off? Thankfully, presumably due to good technique during assent, good maneuver planning, and a whole load of luck in what LF/O hybrid tanks I put on the craft, I got into a 70x70 orbit with less than 35 oxidizer to spare. After this, I let the craft move around Kerbin once, and I then deorbited it in such a way that it would land near the KSC, normal normal normal. Reentry was pretty hard, mostly because even though my plane was stable, this would force all the heat to flow into the cockpit and destroy the craft, so after a few failed attempts pointing straight up and down to spread the heat, I actually tried to make the plane unstable, and I succeeded, kicking the jets back on after getting to ~15 kms BC I had quite a bit of LF left over to regain stability. After this, I simply changed the direction of my plane (I had overshot the KSC) and landed on the runway. Hope you enjoyed that short story, reply with constructive criticism, Billy-Bobdock v. Artemis as a name, or suggestions for new designs if you wish, Rain Out.

Remember when I submitted the "Ty Fighter" back in 0.90? I do, and the craft I am showcasing in this post is a tribute to that old craft, specifically in this new spaceplane's christening. This new entrant for receiving the K-Prize is the product of inspiration, innovation, and over a year of time. I present to you, the Billy-Bobdock I! Imgur Album Link (Whai can't I imbed?) See you later, Raincrafter.

6/10. You weren't here at all before my hiatus, but now I see you almost everywhere I go.
-
By the power of unexpected attack after a 9 moth hiatus off of the forums, I punch the hill right into the surface of a nearby Earth-like exoplanet and blast off at many times light speed to get to the top. My hill.

Wow, I remember that post now. If you've got over 10k rep now, than maybe I was wrong. Better get reading! (Followed Duna and Eve all the way through, but I barley started Jool when I just decided to move on with other things on the forums.) Ayyyy! I wondered where you were ever since your YT channel went dormant.

I have a few guesses. 1. When I Rickrolled everyone on one of your Graphic Novels. 2. My Old Spacecraft Repository (Might start it up again.) 3. Me recognizing the game turning 5. 4. My 300 post celebration. 5. My K-Prize entry all the way back from 0.90. (Man, it's really been that long since the old physics? I should re-enter the challenge now with my first new-aero SSTO.) 6. Any of the cringe-worthy art I did back in the day. That's all I can think of right now, if one of these is right than please tell me.

Unrelated, but I was just looking at Paramecium under a microscope a few days ago. (Finally, I understand where your name comes from!) DRES. A huge astroid field, no special challenge or uniqueness, you might as well spend your time at Mün if you want a similar experience.
-
Originally I picked the game up out of a love for Astronomy, but now I just like being creative in KSP and feeling the satisfaction of these new creations reach orbit, Mün, etc.
-
Sorry 4 the relatively minor necro, but I was really into space videos ~early to mid 2014 on Youtube (I've loved Astronomy my whole life), so one day YT just decided to recommend a Scott Manley video to me. I got hooked on his channel, watching for ages and ages until I got the game a few days later as a birthday gift.

Maybe the fact that only 27 seconds have elapsed in the mission, you have all of your fuel still, and you are traveling at ludicrous speed for a final approach.
