  1. If it means more planets, sure. It's a nice mod, with some cool moons.
  2. Finally rescued Val from LKO and updated the Wanderer. Now it can get to space, but with only 400 m/s left over. That's definitely not enough to go to Serran
  3. It's more then that though. The wheels in 1.1 are buggy in general. Like how taking weight off of the landing gear will over-stress the wheel. And lots more. But that's a bit off topic
  4. Lost it in the Great Reset of 1.0. Or whatever update it was. The one where they completely redid a lot of parts. RIP
  5. Dunno, but it could be because the Mk 1 Cockpit's nose is off-center. I can confirm massive heat reduction on other cockpits.
  6. I was determined to find a use for the sideways Mk 2 Cockpit from Mk 2 Expansion. This was the result: Why is everyone so sexist? Hobos can be females too. Rapid spinning may result in semi-deconstruction: Disco
  7. Did a massive mission to Eli. I brought lots of LFO, so I was able to do 4 landings before returning. I could've done a fifth, but I was getting kinda bored. Site 1: Forgot to take a pic at Site 2, so Site 3: Site 4:
  8. Whatever floats your boat. Or lifts your planes. Or whatever. I need to start doing these posts later; that way I don't need to keep posting whenever I do something. This was more yesterday, but the Emerald! Who has an hour to fly around building speed? I wanna go to space now. The name of the game is overkill: That's seven engines. And then the Wanderer, which is today. My first SSTOs were air-breathers designed to be used on planets and moons with oxygen. Then I made the Duneshifter (see above), which could be used on planets without oxygen and could honestly be replaced by a rocket. So I decided to go all the way. Air is overrated. Thanks to its vertical landing legs it can land anywhere! And it has drills, so you can hop from planet to planet refueling and never have to send another craft to refuel! At least, that's what I want it to do. It's still a WIP.
  9. But then you have to manage funds and stuff. I'd think Science mode is better. 1000 m/s is enough to get to Serran. Since your plane has mining equipment you can refuel and return. Or is that not important to you? (Serious question, not being rude or anything) Anyway, what I did. I made a variant of my seaplane and replaced the pontoons with drop tanks. Now it has enough delta-v to get in orbit around Kerbin! My first ever chemical SSTO spaceplane. Oh well. I could probably make it to orbit without ditching the drop tanks, but then the CoM/CoT would be off-balanced. On a related note, if you use decouplers to ditch something at launch, is it still an SSTO?
  10. I don't really know. I haven't really spent enough time around the other objects to have opinions. I'd say Ike because it's ugly and Gilly because its gravity is painfully low. Mainly Ike though
  11. Not to mention, I'm sure there would be trolls who would spam useless nodes
  12. Thanks! That's about what I had approximated, but it's nice to have some confirmation.
  13. Ok, I think I FINALLY have a seaplane for Tidus: One minor issue: it just barely has enough fuel to NOT make it to orbit in Kerbin. But it can get 70km apoapsis and 24k periapsis, so I think that's close enough. It means, however, that a) I have to land without using ANY fuel b) I can't waste too much time taking off c) this will definitely need an interplanetary tug. Also, to all you people saying the flea is useless: YOU MAY NOT SEE IT, BUT I HAVE TWO ON THE PONTOONS FOR A SPEED BOOST DURING TAKEOFF! HA!
  14. Ooh! Ooh! How much delta-v did it take? I need to know this.
  15. One thing people seem to ignore is the potential for 2.5 meter plane parts. All we need is a 2.5 meter plane cockpit, a 2.5 meter crew cabin (besides the Hitchhiker because that doesn't look good when horizontal) and a 2.5 meter liquid fuel tank and I'd be happy. EDIT: I'm having a hard time imagining what a Mk 3 inline cockpit would look like.
  16. 1.1 landing gear struck again. Not mission critical, but I see no way to fix it besides wait for 1.2. So I'm going to be grounded until then
  17. Speaking of which, we could have similar "biomes" in areas like the Van Allen belt.
  18. Something like terrain scatter could be used for rings. All we need is terrain scatter colliders
  19. This is a great idea, but I'd like to point out that the Mk 1 cockpit has a docking window with controls in IVA. So make that the spaceplane cockpit and add a new, low-level cockpit? Or make the Inline Cockpit the low-level cockpit, since most early planes had inline cockpits.
  20. Sierra mission. Send a plane and a mining rig to New Horizon's Serran. Fly around. Return to rig to refuel. Repeat. Bugged landing gear on the rig. Had to hyperedit in a new one with not broken landing gear. Plane was a pain to take off and land When I gave up and decided to return, the plane couldn't survive re-entry from intermoonitary (interlunatary? intersatellite?) space, and didn't have enough fuel for a capture burn. So now Val is stranded in EVA around Kerbin. Luckily there are worse places to be stranded
  21. Ouch. I wish there was a better way to test interplanetary stuff besides hyperediting the things to where I want them. Like a simulation or something.
  22. New Horizons. It completely reshuffles the solar system (IE: Minmus is a moon of Eeloo) and adds several new planets/moons (like Serran, the one shown)
  23. I've been doing prep work for my flight to Titanus. I moved the Titan into an orbit around Sonnah, and adjusted its inclination. It's a tad bit eccentric, but I decided to save circularization until the window. Who knows, maybe I'm already halfway to an escape trajectory to Titanus. I also decided to bring back the Sierra, since leaving it sitting there doing nothing for a year or two seemed a bit mean. Also I was having a lot of issues with the mission, besides the rig (it was a pain to take off and a pain to land). I wasn't going to take any pictures, but then I noticed this: See that black speck to the left of the Sierra? That's its shadow. Spoopy.
